  • Islanders at heart

"I almost hate to share any wonderful imfo about this amazing house/island and our great would be a sweet secret to keep but also something so nice it needs to be shared. This was our second visit to pleasant dreams and this time we brought our adult kids. Of course the house is just perfect. We used the all the "toys" and cooked amazing meals in their fully equipped kitchen. If you love rainbows in the morning and lightning shows off in the distance at nite you will love this place. Steve and Lin are so easy to deal with and we will be back. The snorkeling every day and the "floats" in your own private cove are hard to get out of your mind. We ate lobster, conch, and fish thru the whole visit. I do suggest visiting Diane/Rodney. Our guys went out with Rodney and came back with a cooler full. And Diane is a sweet interesting lady who is so helpful . We even went over to her place and had dinner. You will want to rent a car for at least part of your visit. It s very helpful in getting to grocery store and of course sightseeing. Not an island for those seeking crazy nitelife . More of a quiet turn off your phone and forget the world kind of place. Just what i think everyone could use. We def made some unforgettable memories."

  • Beautiful Home, Beautiful Island!

"This was our first time in the Bahamas, and I must say will not be our last! The house was absolutely beautiful! The view of the cove from the house every morning was breathtaking! The caretakers of the house were very helpful in answering all our questions and where to go for food, etc. My kids are already asking when we can come back here.... I am also looking forward to returning as well. We went to Deans Blue Hole, Hamilton's Cave and Cape Santa Maria - All a must see! The locals were very friendly. Definitely rent an SUV to get around the island. Thank you so much for the best Vacation experience ever!!!"

  • Vacation in Paradise

"We had our vacation in Bahamas,June 2014.We were group of 4 (2 couples),our friends had wedding there. I must say rented apartment exceeded our expectation. Unit 8 is amazing apartment with 2 separated bedrooms,2 bathrooms, nice kitchen and beautiful, big living room.Very well equipped, nice and clean. There is everything what you need!Instead of wall in living room you have huge window with view to the ocean.Great terrace for grilling.Just a walk distance away ( you can walk on the beach) a very nice restaurant. During our 6 day stay we hardly could see people on the beach. The color of the water is just taking your breath away..We took an opportunity having a car and check island around. The conclusion was one for everybody-our beach is the BEST!! Hosting family very kind and nice.Linda( the owner) meat us at the Airport and gave us short trip in the Nassau with pointing out the best places to shop and go out.In the end of our stay we were taken to Airport.I cannot say any bad thing about our stay in Unit 8!It was calm paradise which at least once in your life you should visit!Definitely I would recommend Unit 8 for all of my friends and would like to come back by myself as well :)"

  • A Great Stay.

"All in, we liked Abaco Blue! The property is quiet and private - neighbors were not too far away, but the setting does allow for privacy. The pool is a really nice reason to included this house on your short list. While it's not big (doesn't need to be) it's very, very relaxing and beautiful. The house floor plan is great for two couples. It's open, private and clean. Also, we felt the kitchen was very well stocked for cooking. As well, the grounds were well taken care of and beautiful. A few things worth mentioning: first, the house is advertised as having a washer/dryer (which it does), but the separate building that houses them was locked making them unusable for us - a really big deal because we all packed with the expectation of being able to wash our clothes one time. Secondly, the microwave did not work - we suspect it's on the same line as a bad GFI. Lastly (and this is picky) we did not find the beds comfortable, at all. In conclusion, this property is one of the coolest places we've stayed on Elbow. Lucayos neighborhood is a very quiet, wooded area of the island and we highly recommend Abaco Blue be included in your search."

Berry Islands Travel Tips

Getting to Berry Islands Vacation Rentals

The Berry Islands are a group of about 30 islands which form the far northern part of the Bahama’s outer islands. The largest and most northerly island is Great Harbour Cay. This island is the main access point. The airport receives twice daily flights from Nassau on regional domestic airlines. A second airport on Chub Cay has twice weekly flights to the island. International travelers will need to route via Nassau in order to get a flight connection to the Berry Islands. Nassau has daily flight connections with major United States cities such as Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, Washington DC and New York City. It is important to check the domestic flight schedule so you can coordinate same day flight connections. If this is not possible then you may need to stay overnight in Nassau. There are many private air charter companies that will operate private flights to the Berry Islands, weather permitting. An alternate way to get there is on the weekly ferry that operates from Nassau.

Berry Islands Travel Attractions

Main attractions of the islands are their seclusion and privacy which explains why it is a popular destination for celebrities. Many of the islands are uninhabited or privately owned. This means that you can cruise around to the different cays and enjoy a private picnic on a deserted beach. There are some great reefs for diving and snorkeling, and charters can be arranged from Great Harbour Cay. One of the more popular sites is the Mama Rhoda Rock which is a shallow spiky coral reef, home to abundant reef fish and a number of resident moray eels. On Great Stirrup Cay, you can visit a lighthouse that dates back to 1863. Deep sea fishing is one of the popular pastimes and professional deep sea charter companies provide excursions from Great Harbour Cay upon request. If you enjoy sailing or cruising, you can also charter a boat to take you to explore many of the nearby uninhabited cays. Take along your sunhat and snorkeling gear so you can explore some of the shallow reefs.

Luxurious Style at Berry Islands Resorts

The Berry Islands are a typical tropical paradise. With its beautiful white beaches, calm turquoise waters and tall flowing palm trees, it is no wonder that it has become a favorite travel destination for the rich and famous. The resorts cater for the up-market traveler and many of the vacation homes reflect an elegant style that these types of travelers are used to. Many of the homes are elegantly appointed with sweeping views over private stretches of beach. In general, the vacation apartments and villas are large, spacious and furnished with stylish furniture and a host of modern appliances. Many of the homes are fully serviced, and private chefs can often be arranged upon request so you do not need to hassle with preparing meals.

Bahamas Vacation Rentals in Berry Islands

Because of their location in the Caribbean, the Bahamas enjoy a year-round warm tropical climate. The only travel caution is that the islands do fall within the hurricane belt. Tropical storms occur in the late summer months and this is viewed as the low tourist season. Seasonal rain showers do also occur through the summer months. The winter months are typically drier and often the preferred season to visit. For the Berry Islands, this is usually the peak season. Between December and April, many visitors travel to the islands to escape from colder northern climates and enjoy some relaxation in the sun.
