  • Sunsets, snorkeling, and serenity!!

"My husband and I recently returned from our first visit to Eleuthera and had the pleasure of staying at Tequila Sunset. This beautiful home is on a great lot with direct beach access just a few steps away and is in the middle of this wonderful cove. The water was a beautiful turquoise color and crystal clear, which made for some wonderful snorkeling and shell collecting. I even found some pretty cool pieces of sea glass. The Caribbean side is so calm and peaceful, perfect for using the kayaks to explore the amazing rocky edges of the bluff and for some unbelievable ocean scenery. There is an awesome bench seat along the very short walkway to the private little beach that is perfect for enjoying some breathtaking sunsets, a nice beverage, or to just sit and let all your stress and cares drift away. Be sure to have plenty of bug repellant with you…the no-see-ums can be no joke! The house was immaculate and the pictures are very accurate, although it’s hard to truly capture the spaciousness and openness of this wonderful home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything a family would need to prepare their own meals. There is plenty of seating in the kitchen and dining/living room which would be perfect for a large gathering. Since it was just me and my husband, we loved sitting at the bar height bistro table in the kitchen next to the window, enjoying the spectacular ocean view. We did a lot of cooking ourselves, but went in to Gregory Town one night and ate at Unca Gene’s. The food was wonderful and everyone we talked to was very friendly and always willing to offer tips and advice on the best beaches. Twin Sister’s was one of our favorite for snorkeling around the two rock formations. Preacher’s Cave and Tay Bay Beach were an easy drive from the house and should definitely be on the list of things to see. Wallace, the property manager, made sure that the a/c and fans were turned on before we arrived, making the house quite comfortable for us. He also came by later on that day to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed and also provided quite a bit of useful information. We could not have had a better first trip to Eleuthera or in our dealings with the owners! Rena was always quick in responding to all of my emails and such a pleasure to work with during the entire rental process. We are looking forward to our next visit already!!"

  • Already need to go back

"Scott's property is amazing. when you arrive and first look down the cliff your mind is blown. The beauty and serenity at the house is unparalleled anywhere in the world. My wife and I spent a week at the house and enjoyed every second. We did have a rental car and traveled to many many beaches but the time we spent just hanging out at the house playing cards or scrabble and watching the water was the best. Snorkeling and swimming in the lagoon is special. There were an abundance of fish that swam with us and many others hiding in the shadows. If you are looking for a simple, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay this is perfect. Having no internet nor tv really kept us from wasting our time on those things and instead we truly spent quality time together. One bit of advice, check out the Front porch restaurant about ten minutes up the road near hatchet bay, amazing food, and amazing staff. we cannot wait to go back Stephen and Renee"

  • our home away from home

"The Seahorse Cottage served as the perfect spot for our 'baby moon'. we were married in eleuthera and wanted to return for our anniversary / baby moon, but wanted to stay somewhere different, low key, close to culture, someplace easy and we hit the jackpot! It might not be perfect for all (esp all pregnant ladies!), so if you want your room service and your towel boy at the beach - this might not be your speed. BUT, if you're a little more laid back, adventurous and open to island life (i.e., using a flashlight around grounds at night, going outdoors to your shower), this could be your idea of heaven! The cottage is set up with every last detail you could ever need or appreciate - even all the dishes/towels coordinate, so its a perfectly soothing environment and you have everything you need. We loved our morning coffee on our private patio overlooking the water and it was nice to be able to balance some eating in and some eating out. Having wifi was a huge plus too - so we could balance some work in as needed - it's not always easy to come by on the island so having it was a huge! The grounds are gorgeous - like visiting a horticultural park and Kimy and Terry are so great;friendly, accommodating and helpful with anything you need. An easy walk to the market, shops, restaurants, the water, quick drive to a most gorgeous beach, close proximity to things like glass window bridge, queens baths, preachers cave, harbor island....truly a perfect location. We loved Gregory Town, the cottage, Terry & Kimy (& Morocco too!) and our stay there just endeared us more to Eleuthera. We can't wait to go back!"

  • A trip so good things going wrong couldn't ruin!

"We had such a wonderful time staying at the Starfish Cottage hosted by Kimy and Terry in Gregory Town, Eleuthera. This was my very first trip to the Bahamas and my first trip out of the country and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I really didn’t want to do the tourist thing because I wanted to actually experience a different place. Gregory Town was a real Bahamian town that was small enough to feel secluded but not desolate. The property is right on the harbor and a dock leads right down to the water. The property itself is just amazing, with unique landscaping and artistic elements worked in everywhere! Even real coconuts ripe for the husking. Terry built much of what is on the property and Kimy has used all kinds of shells and artifacts found on the beaches to decorate everything. The cottage too was perfect for our needs. It’s one room but spacious and includes a kitchen with all the dishes and cooking instruments you may need. I wanted to go to the Bahamas to experience the outdoors but I’m not much of a camping girl. There was a nice comfy bed and clean sheets but the windows could be opened up and the hot water shower is out in the fresh air but in its own enclosed area for privacy. Everything was just beautiful, like a dream. The bathroom and shower is not connected to the cottage, but it’s only a few steps away and very private. The island itself has so much to offer that it is impossible to see it all even in a full seven-day trip. We were excited by the idea of an excluded experience not having to share a beach with a hundred people. It was the perfect mixture. We could find secluded areas when we wanted seclusion, but we also had a couple of options if we wanted live music or dancing in the evening, or if we wanted to meet locals and hang out with them. There were plenty of awesome restaurants to choose from and almost everywhere we ate was amazing. A car is important. We only rented one for three or four days and entertained ourselves for around Gregory Town and the property for a few days. We got the car in the middle of our stay so the first and last days we could just get to know the local area and rest after all the snorkeling and other activities we planned. It is a mile or two walk to a beach from the property, but if you want to stay nearby you can swim in the harbor. We even did a little snorkeling in the harbor. Overall an amazing experience, so good, even things going wrong couldn't spoil it!"
