  • Great 2 weeks in October!

"This beach house is amazing! we had such a great time, everything was exactly as promised. The beach house was clean, and had a fun Caribbean style. It was furnished with everything we could have ever needed. Jim and Holly were great to work with and probably the best property owners we have worked with over the years. They really cared about making our trip special! We spent 2 weeks and were glad that we had packed lots of food, we hit the island during a time that most of the restaurants were closed before the season starts. We ate at the Sunset Inn when we first arrived and the food was good, its always fun to eat on a nice verandah and enjoy the sunset. The BBQ works amazing and we love to cook so things were fine regardless of the restaurants being closed. The beach is quiet and private, it was like having our own beach, it was a nice getaway and hope to go back in the coming years! The property managers Doyle and Ada were great once we arrived to help us get set up and figure every thing out. THANKS for making our trip wonderful!"

  • Unpretentious slice of paradise

"Off the Reef was exactly what I had hoped: Clean, comfortable, casual, and a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My wife and I spent our 20th anniversary here and LOVED it. We spent the first two days just walking the beach, snorkeling and swinging in the hammock. The grounds at OTR are beautiful. So is the beach. We saw very few other people on it the entire week. Most romantic. We prefer cooking to eating out and the kitchen was well-stocked. So was the "fun stuff" closet once we started to feel adventurous. Snorkeling gear, lots of good towels, binoculars, bicycles, etc. The only word of caution I would offer prospective renters is to let you know that the infrastructure on Eluthera is 3rd world. The internet goes out sometimes, as does the TV. There are few street signs. The water went out when we were there but the property mgr came out and switched us to cistern within hours. No problemo. If you can deal with these little inconveniences I highly recommend OTR. To me it's all part of the relaxing charm of Eluthera."

  • Best Vacation Ever.

"My husband and I ventured to stay at Villa Sylphide to celebrate his graduation and our anniversary. We knew it was going to be nice since it is our neighbor's vacation house and he has excellent taste but we had no idea of its beauty until we got there. Between the high-end kitchen, beautifully decorated rooms, great wraparound porch, backyard wildlife and private beach, this place is special, it really has it all. We did a couple day trips to some cool beaches but really spent most of our time on our beach. Just lying on the beach was enough but to break it up we did venture into the ocean. We found a great snorkeling spot to the right, about a quarter mile down the beach, it has all of the underwater life one could ask for in a shallow protective cove, we highly recommend this spot. Also, the restaurants were great (although we had fun cooking in), people are wonderful, location is perfect. 2 suggestions, rent a SUV if you plan on doing some exploring and bring your water shoes, they were great to have. Overall 10 out of 10. We can’t wait to go back!"

  • TOTAL BLISS AT KOKOMO

"As soon as we arrived at KOKOMO I felt the stress and worries of everyday living just melt away. We vaca'd with a Community couple and although the house is set-up as 2 individual living quarters, we all seemed to only use the beachfront kitchen that went directly out to massive cement veranda with that stunning Mermaid sculpture. We shopped, dived, snorkeled, kayaked, prepared scrumptious dinners, ate out locally, got to meet the Owners that I'd been e'ing for tips, etc. Fabulous couple. If you go, there's a perfect, pristine beach as you leave KOKOMO and head out to Queens Highway, it has a sign on the left that reads: CrocoMama (next to old Military Base) and the beaches are literally the most gorgeous we've ever seen and we've been to many, many beaches. The Owner equipped the house with everything you could possibly want; literally. It was SO MUCH BETTER than staying at a hotel. We loved the privacy and our own run of the beach and 2 dogs that show up faithfully to be fed and you could tell they loved their lifestyle....who wouldn't? We're telling all our friends and may possibly be back to KOKOMO. It is just the perfect place to wind down and forget all the busy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"
