  • A snorkler's haven!

"Our family of 6 rented the main house and cottage for my mom's 60th birthday (4 adults and 2 kids, 10 and 8) and I can't say enough good things about the house! The house had everything you need including beach chairs and towels (which would be pain to pack on vacation but are great to have once on the island). The kitchen had everything we needed to cool big family meals and my husband talked about how comfortable our bed was every morning when we woke up. As other reviewers have said the porch is where you feel the most relaxed. The view, the hammock, the adirondack chairs. It's hard to tear yourself away to explore the island. But for out family the absolute best thing about this house was the cove. The snorkeling was amazing!!!! Just this year we have snorkeled Looe Key in The Florida Keys and Cabo Pulmlo in Mexico and they don't had A candle to this little cove!! We would snorkel in the morning, make a little exposition to other island beaches and then come home and do an evening snorkel. The cove is so protected it was always calm even though the winds were blowing 20-30. Even our 8 year old was able to snorkel and see rays, turtles, grouper, snapper, lionfish, barracuda, eel and so so much more!!! Our week at this house will be something our family will never forget!"

  • Lovely house just by the beach on the Atlantic side

"Arriving at Eleuthera was a great experience itself - just a small house which welcomed us. the House keeper John had arranged with a car, which was waiting for us outside the small airport. It took us about 1,5 hour to drive to the house which is situated about 15-20 min drive from Governors harbor. You def. need a car to get there. The house was situated up on the top of the beach, so no worries for the waves to hit the house. Beautiful beach with a few houses. The house itself had very comfortable beds, had pretty much everything you needed to cook. The only con was that the wifi wasn't stable, with all the power cuts that's seems to be going on in Eleuthera. Even though they don't last very long. The house provided us with towels, bed linen, snorkel equipment, canoes (even though it was to choppy for us to go out with small children). Ten bay beach is situated on the other side of the highway and was just the best! So many beautiful beaches on the island - breathtaking! I highly recommend this island if you need some peace, and why not stay at Bahamas Castaway at the same time!"

  • what more could you possibly ask for???

"we stayed for week - and we couldn't' imagine a better place to relax!! the cottage is small and well appointed - everything is perfect !! right on the beach - perfectly stocked kitchen - great BR and bath....the place cools well, there is great parking, the beach is wide and white. sandy, great reefs in front - 5 minute walk to Sky Beach - 8 minutes to grocery store, gas station, French Leave beach, deli, restaurants, - not sure what anyone would want that isn't here....the owners were lovely and full of local knowledge and references....perfectly engaged and not "intrusive" as mentioned below. I much rather have an engaged and interested owner, than someone who does not care and allows decay and broken stuff in their place... you can't go wrong..."

  • Perfect Island Getaway

"Excellent location, with the ocean on one side and the bay on the other. Lots of privacy, beautiful scenery, and just a few minutes from North Eleuthera airport. Water taxis can pick you up at the dock, and take you straight into Harbor Town. Thanks, Tom (and Carlie!) for a lovely vacation!"
