  • Our Special Getaway

"We hardly set our bags down before we walked the short path to the beach. The pink sand, crescent beach took our breath away. And the snorkeling right in front of the house was more than we could ask for in a beach vacation. The house was just right for the two of us and a friend. Walking to the Beach House restaurant was an option we used multiple times during our stay. Mon Soleil was a very comfortable home and it was always nice to leave the beach and be home in 1 minute. We will definitely be back next year."

  • Comfortable and excellent value.

"We had three couples stay at Bluemoon for five nights. The open floor plan of the main living area was spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of bedrooms that could easily accommodate large groups. With all of the windows, there was never a need for air conditioning as being on the water gives you great ocean breezes. The kitchen is well appointed and the only appliance it is missing is a microwave, but we never noticed until right before we left. There is a new bathroom which is quite nice and spacious. There was always plenty of hot water for all six of us. You do need to supply toilet paper.....not a big deal as it's available at the convenience store down the road. It was clean and is definitely someplace I would stay with my children. As for location, the cove that it's in is BEAUTIFUL! We had a blast snorkeling and kayaking. My brother was able to kayak out to a pod of dolphins. We also caught crabs along the rocks. Rays visited in the morning. Had a Bon fire at night. There is a big beach just down the shoreline that's great for sunbathing and beach combing. There are also so many amazing beaches within a short drive. I suggest driving south. Some of the beaches were the most beautiful I have ever seen. Just south on the main highway is the Island Farm. The produce is outstanding along with the bread twice a week. Get in line early! Great fruits, beautiful greens for salads and incredibly beautiful mint for mojitos! Take a drive to Tarpom Bay. Buy some lobster from the fishermen at 3:00. Get some conch salad from Billy and he will prep your lobster for the grill. Best meal we had! The negatives......and they are minor! Yes, there are bugs. Welcome to a tropical island. Sugar ants appeared every morning. Don't leave anything out and just wipe them up. No big deal. Noseeums are nasty little buggars that are out at dusk and dawn so use bug spray. There are little things about the house that go hand in hand with ocean property and maintenance. There is no Home Depot down the road and the salt air is hard on Everything! To be expected, but nothing impeded our vacation. It is not a fancy marble estate, but it is clean, comfortable and in an amazing location. Howard, the owner was easy to work with and had plenty of information for us and the caretaker Arthur was helpful as well. The Internet did go out for a few days......island wide. I don't usually visit the same place twice, but I am definitely returning with my kids and grandkids!"

  • Pretty much the best I've rented on Eleuthera

"Hi there, you are smart to read the reviews for this island. Many people love it and visit often. We also post reviews and you can see what works for you and maybe not for others. I am one of those that loves the island and has stayed in many homes over the years. This home is the best so far. And I find that this home had pretty much everything. What is the one thing they didn't have that I don't mind? An air conditioner in the main room of the main house. That's it. All the private rooms had them. I just say that so you get the answer right away, but the REAL story here is how PERFECT this place truly is. The location, the kitchen is TRULY fully equipped (GOOD pots and pans, GOOD coffee maker, GOOD oven, several cooking utensils). With a gas range which is hard to find on the island. Also a water filtration system, so no buying huge jugs of drinking water (the only rental home I've ever seen like this on the island), what comes from the sink is just fine and a HUGE benefit to you. The beach is SPOTLESS. There are toys and floaties, although I used none. The grill area is very nice, the patio as well. There's a cute covered thatch towards the beach with 4 adirondack chairs perfect for falling asleep during the day. On an island that typically has indoor and outdoor bugs, I never saw one bug inside, not a spider or even an ant. I put my breakfast on the ledge outdoors to take a picture and a hummingbird came by, first I've seen of that on the island. I mean this is just a perfect location, quiet, off the road and steps from the beach. I mean, I've stayed at many homes and the main problem is things aren't as advertised. This place has internet that works. Cable channels that work (many other homes have cable, but it's just a few networks with many highlighted, but none visible). A phone that works. A functional kitchen (other homes have warped pans, dull knives, etc). And the bathrooms are nice and spacious. Good water pressure. I really can't say enough good things. This will be my 5th year visiting the island and I stupidly skipped over this one because it seemed like too much house for me, even with the ability to rent the guest house as a single traveler, I chose the main house and was very pleased. I'm happy I finally decided on this home. Even if you are traveling with just two people the main house is great or get the guest house, it's plenty enough for two people. The high ceilings and space in the main home are worth the extra bit. Rent this!"

  • our home away from home

"The Seahorse Cottage served as the perfect spot for our 'baby moon'. we were married in eleuthera and wanted to return for our anniversary / baby moon, but wanted to stay somewhere different, low key, close to culture, someplace easy and we hit the jackpot! It might not be perfect for all (esp all pregnant ladies!), so if you want your room service and your towel boy at the beach - this might not be your speed. BUT, if you're a little more laid back, adventurous and open to island life (i.e., using a flashlight around grounds at night, going outdoors to your shower), this could be your idea of heaven! The cottage is set up with every last detail you could ever need or appreciate - even all the dishes/towels coordinate, so its a perfectly soothing environment and you have everything you need. We loved our morning coffee on our private patio overlooking the water and it was nice to be able to balance some eating in and some eating out. Having wifi was a huge plus too - so we could balance some work in as needed - it's not always easy to come by on the island so having it was a huge! The grounds are gorgeous - like visiting a horticultural park and Kimy and Terry are so great;friendly, accommodating and helpful with anything you need. An easy walk to the market, shops, restaurants, the water, quick drive to a most gorgeous beach, close proximity to things like glass window bridge, queens baths, preachers cave, harbor island....truly a perfect location. We loved Gregory Town, the cottage, Terry & Kimy (& Morocco too!) and our stay there just endeared us more to Eleuthera. We can't wait to go back!"
