  • Paradise!!

"My husband and I spent 12 nights at this gorgeous place this past Christmas. We can't say enough great things about the villa, the owners and the caretaker- even better than expected! The villa is spacious, spotless, airy and light, yet very comfortable and filled with whimsical marine-themed décor (some created by the owners, which adds such a nice touch!). We both love to cook and had most of our dinners at the villa; never did we want for anything in the kitchen it was so well-stocked. We especially enjoyed the huge terrace and the fact that the house sits back from the beach, offering much privacy. There is, however, a lovely wooden deck that sits right on the beach and has cozy Adirondack chairs. We've been to Eleuthera once before and believe all of Eleuthera is breathtaking but being in North Palmetto Point is very convenient. You can easily visit many beaches and points of interest such as Levy Preserve and Blue Hole, though the beach right out the door may be one of the nicest. (The book The Elusive Beaches of Eleuthera is highly recommended if you want to visit some awesome beaches.) North Palmetto Point is also close to restaurants and Island Farms, which sells fresh produce along with many home-made products including hummus, spinach dip, salsa, dressings and marinades. They also have baked goods on certain days of the week. Both the owners and the caretaker also helped make this a great stay. Sal, the villa owner, was very helpful before and during our stay. He promptly answered all of our questions and made it clear we could contact him at any time without feeling we were bothering him; he seemed to truly want us to enjoy his bit of paradise. Sue, the caretaker, was also there to answer any questions and help out however she could. There was a short power outage, which is common, and Sue was able to assist in getting it back on in a fair amount of time. All in all this was one of the best vacations we have ever taken and we plan on going back again next year! We have thought about trying other places but we've decided, why bother when we know Aqua Vista is perfect?"

  • Pretty much the best I've rented on Eleuthera

"Hi there, you are smart to read the reviews for this island. Many people love it and visit often. We also post reviews and you can see what works for you and maybe not for others. I am one of those that loves the island and has stayed in many homes over the years. This home is the best so far. And I find that this home had pretty much everything. What is the one thing they didn't have that I don't mind? An air conditioner in the main room of the main house. That's it. All the private rooms had them. I just say that so you get the answer right away, but the REAL story here is how PERFECT this place truly is. The location, the kitchen is TRULY fully equipped (GOOD pots and pans, GOOD coffee maker, GOOD oven, several cooking utensils). With a gas range which is hard to find on the island. Also a water filtration system, so no buying huge jugs of drinking water (the only rental home I've ever seen like this on the island), what comes from the sink is just fine and a HUGE benefit to you. The beach is SPOTLESS. There are toys and floaties, although I used none. The grill area is very nice, the patio as well. There's a cute covered thatch towards the beach with 4 adirondack chairs perfect for falling asleep during the day. On an island that typically has indoor and outdoor bugs, I never saw one bug inside, not a spider or even an ant. I put my breakfast on the ledge outdoors to take a picture and a hummingbird came by, first I've seen of that on the island. I mean this is just a perfect location, quiet, off the road and steps from the beach. I mean, I've stayed at many homes and the main problem is things aren't as advertised. This place has internet that works. Cable channels that work (many other homes have cable, but it's just a few networks with many highlighted, but none visible). A phone that works. A functional kitchen (other homes have warped pans, dull knives, etc). And the bathrooms are nice and spacious. Good water pressure. I really can't say enough good things. This will be my 5th year visiting the island and I stupidly skipped over this one because it seemed like too much house for me, even with the ability to rent the guest house as a single traveler, I chose the main house and was very pleased. I'm happy I finally decided on this home. Even if you are traveling with just two people the main house is great or get the guest house, it's plenty enough for two people. The high ceilings and space in the main home are worth the extra bit. Rent this!"

  • Hamilton House, Windermere Island, Eleuthera

"Our family had a fantastic time staying at the Hamilton House. We found the location to be pretty central for all of the places we wanted to visit as well as for necessities (groceries in Rock Sound, etc.). The miles of perfectly pink beaches were exquisite especially since, for most of our trip, we had them all to ourselves. The people we met along the way were genuine, friendly and helpful. We used all of the toys and supplies the Hamilton House has to share. Thank you very much for allowing us to use your home. We'll be back!"

  • Paradise

"My wife and I stayed at Serenity for our anniversary and we had a wonderful visit. The house was beautiful, with tremendous views of the property and the ocean. Mark and his wife have done an amazing job of decorating the home with personal and local touches....it truly felt like an island home. The property was landscaped wonderfully, with access to the beach, and there were two separate lounging areas that overlooked the water. The gazebo down at the beach was handy and allowed for a great water view too. The beach was simply awesome. 3 miles of seclusion, and we only saw two other families while there. My wife and I walked the beach each day and marveled at the scenery, the white/pink sand, and the turquoise water. The pictures do not do justice to the actual views you have from the property and on the beach. Mark has made the home very "user friendly" A very nice flat screen TV and a video collection of practically every movie you can imagine made evenings very nice. The outdoor rainwater showers were simply amazing. Mark was very helpful and finding a car rental, directions to the home, and around the island, as well as suggesting restaurants. The visit was outstanding and I would definitely recommend this home to anyone. We will definitely return. Thanks Mark."
