  • Wonderful Beach House on Amazing Tropic of Cancer Beach

"My wife and I have vacationed in Exuma for the past 6 years. The non-stop, three-and-a-half hour flight, from Toronto to Great Exuma is so convenient This was the first year we rented a house on the beach and the first time we stayed for two weeks instead of one. When we were in Exuma the year before, we took some time to rent a car and visit a number of possible rentals on various beaches on Great and Little Exuma. Turtle Rock House reminded us of our cottage in Muskoka, being so close to the water, and with its large sun deck. There were no other rentals that we saw that were right on the beach like Turtle Rock House is. Unlike a number of the other rentals that are furnished more like city houses, Turtle Rock has a comfortable, welcoming, lived in cottage (beach-house) feel to it. The house is more than adequately appointed, and has a definite Bahamas character. The owner and the property manager were very helpful. They responded quickly to all our inquiries and followed up to ensure our satisfaction, before and during our stay. We would recommend renting a car. We did and enjoyed driving around the island, shopping for supplies in George Town, and eating at a number of restaurants. Santana’s, ten minutes away, is a must! The road from the Queen’s Hwy to Tropic of Cancer Beach and Turtle Rock House is similar to some of the cottage roads in Muskoka, more of a one-lane, weather-worn track than a road, but it seems to limit the number of tourists who make it to the beach, which is nice. The Tropic of Cancer Beach is absolutely amazing, beautiful, clean, and you mostly have it all to yourself. We walked its length on a number of occasions. Swimming or just wading into the ocean was wonderful with the amazingly crystal clear water and pristine, white sand on the bottom. My wife and I are already talking about going back next year."

  • A little slice of Heaven!

"Spent a couple of weeks on Exuma Island, had such an incredible time and loved this villa, a true little slice of Heaven! A really beautiful home at waters edge, with amazing views, incredible dock, swimming, water fun, and the most relaxing spot I ever visited. The house was fully equipped, everything worked as it should and it was very comfortable. Large kitchen, large living area, and large bedrooms. Really enjoyed the huge private dock with steps down to the white sand turquoise waters, beautifully finished with barbecue grill and furniture to relax and eat while enjoying the beautiful view and breezes. Used the 2 man-kayak to explore the uninhabited cays not far from the house, amazing sandy beaches! It was also only 8 minutes drive to Georgetown with restaurants, stores and all activities you could want. One of my most favourite places in the world , sitting on the deck, looking out onto some of the bluest waters you'll see in your life….Highly recommended!"

  • 40th Birthday girls getaway

"WOW! Exuma is truly an island that took my breath away. The color of the ocean was AMAZING! Arriving at the villa was exciting, and was everything I thought it would be and more, and walking into the villa and seeing the incredible view of the water...brought tears to our eyes--awesome feeling!! The villa is spacious, clean, and decorated beautifully. We were 4 adult women celebrating my 40th birthday, and each of us had our own bedroom and PLENTY of space. Tom (the new owner as of the beginning of this year) was very prompt at answering emails and getting back to me with questions or concerns. We were fortunate to meet other owners of another villa in the complex and they were very friendly and helped us this questions. The villa sits on a well landscaped piece of property and offered peace and tranquility. All the locals we met on the island, treated us like family! We did a boat excursion with Four C's Advertures the day of my birthday and it was all I could of asked for--Captain Andrew and Yellow were awesome, and I loved the swimming pigs, iguanna's and sharks! We enjoyed the pig roast at Chat N Chill on Sunday, live music at Catch a Fire on Wednesday, very tasty lunch and wonderful people at Santana's on Little Exuma and took pics with Denise--best food I had on the trip, then spent the afternoon at Tropic of Cancer beach. I fell in love with the island, it truly was like a piece of heaven right here on earth! I cannot wait to return!!!"

  • They Don't Call it Paradise Point for Nothing!

"I am a returner 'offender' as I have been to this rental property and Great Exuma several times. I will warn those who are looking for the Ritz or an all inclusive -- you've come to the wrong place! This is a wonderful island and a wonderful house. It sits up overlooking an almost private beach -- saw one other person while we were there -- and a bluer-than-blue ocean view. The house is open and bright with the main living room big enough for four of us to relax comfortably when we were there. The kitchen was showing some salt/sand wear and tear but we were told by the owner that the kitchen remodeling would be done this fall to include new cabinets, countertops and appliances! If you are looking for a affordable retreat away from a typical touristy beach, this island and this home is definitely the place for you. Unlike other resort islands, vacationers have the opportunity to absorb the culture and interact with the locals -- Sunday pig roast on Stocking Island is a must! PS the owner and caretaker were very friendly and took care of us and any requests we had... and coming from a busy city like Washington, DC the traffic (an occasional car) I saw someone else comment about -- was definitely not worth noting!
