  • Fabulous Host and stunning view! Perfect Bahamas cottage!

"We booked this lovely Treehouse for 4 days and ended up extending our stay to 12 days while we were there! We couldn't bare to leave! Pam the host/owner was SO accommodating and extremely lovely. We loved our stay at the Treehouse so much. It was the perfect base for day trips to Tropic of Cancer beach, the Exuma Cays boat trip, Hoopers bay turtles and an easy drive into get groceries at Georgetown... The cottage is so awesome... the turquoise water is just divine! The beach from the treehouse is within walking distance, and Pam and Bill have set it up with kayaks and hammocks. Amazing! We had the beach to ourselves almost everyday and it couldn't have been more heavenly. I would HIGHLY recommend this rental! And I urge you to book a longer stay than 4 days... We would have been extremely disappointed if it wasn't available for our 'extended vacation'! Loved it so much! Thanks for all your kindness and hospitality Pam! We will for certain be back! Love Alana and Sarah!"

  • Totally relaxing!

"We spent a delightful week in Johanna's guest cottage being thoroughly entertained by her wonderful dogs, Lucky and Sophie. The cottage was everything described and more. We spent every morning and evening on the upper deck just relaxing and gazing at the beautiful view. Johanna's recommendations for restaurants and things to do were spot on. She was helpful in every way (she helped by making phone calls when my luggage didn't arrive) and yet was totally unobtrusive. All the beaches on Exuma are lovely, but we especially enjoyed Forbes Hill and Tropic of Cancer. Our favorite restaurants were Tropic Breeze and Santana's. When visiting Santana's, make sure to stop at Mom's Bakery right next door and across the road at the yellow shack for delicious conch fritters. We also saw a lovely sunset at a restaurant called Catch a Fire (a little pricey, but worth the view). Our first night Johanna sent us down the road (after first calling to make sure they would stay open to serve us) to Turquoise Cay. It is a nice boutique hotel and restaurant. They could not have been nicer to us. All in all, we would highly recommend Sweet Ting, and Exuma in general, to anyone who is looking for a quiet, off the beaten track vacation. We definitely hope to return! Thank you, Johanna for a great week."

  • Beautiful Island - Beautiful Island Home!

"We couldn’t have been more pleased with our rental of Mayaguana House on our recent visit to the Exumas. It is just such a wonderful property with everything we were looking for. The 180 degree turquoise water views from the house are mesmerizing. The shaded terrace with a variety of very comfortable furnishings for snoozing, lounging or dining were ideal for morning coffee and refreshing after a busy day exploring the island. The abundant and well-kept gardens with meandering paths leading to secluded sitting areas or water access made it feel like you were at a resort. The private beach less than 2 minutes walk down a flower lined path was delightful, and just 50 ft further a private beach park all to ourselves! The great location off the Queen’s Highway in the middle of the island, close to Georgetown makes it an ideal base to explore the island. As beautiful as the outside spaces were, the inside spaces were just as nice with high quality, comfortable furnishings, great beds with good linens, A/C throughout the house which only was needed at night to cool down as the breezes coming off the water help cool the house. The house is tastefully decorated with unique island art and Caribbean sea theme. The kitchen is so well-equipped and stocked and all appliances in working order made dining in feel like you were at your own home! We didn’t want for any item, it was all there. Wireless Internet, Satellite TV and an In-House + Terrace music system all nice additions in perfect working order to keep in touch back home and add an entertainment option when desired. When venturing out to explore the beautiful island we had everything we needed, all provided by Mayaguana; beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, picnic basket, multiple coolers of various sizes, beer coozies for your Kalik! We rented a boat for two days from Minns and having all these items made it so easy to boat to our own private island and be fully comfortable and equipped! Pam, the owner, was very easy to work with; very responsive and made the rental and arrival process a breeze! We have been renting island properties for the last 10 years on our travels across the Caribbean and Mayaguana is truly one of the best we have stayed at. Highly Recommended!"
