"Those that know me would never expect to hear me use the word magical - it's simply not my type of word - but it is the best single word to use to describe Sugar Beach Villa.
While planning my honeymoon I read an article that argued money spent on experiences (i.e. memories) instead of physical goods led to more satisfaction. Its logic resonated, and without any doubt I am very satisfied with the money spent to get the memories I have from Sugar Beach Villa.
I was looking for as much seclusion as I could afford, and I definitely got it. It was easy to image being on your own private island. The property is stunning, and the private beach is just as nice as other top spots on Exuma (e.g. Tropic of Cancer and Coco Plum Beach). Tropic of Cancer beach is in walking distance too.
There was more space than my wife and I needed, but for a family or group it is perfect (and perfectly spaced out). The owner has a great staff that beautifully maintains the property, and keeps it very clean. We were there without kids, but I bet Glo, who lives on the property to help care for it, would be great with a family with kids.
Our only complaint was the internet service. It's there, but the Wi-Fi signal wasn't strong everywhere, perhaps because the property is spread out. The correct router was being used, so the best effort was made. It's kind of a shame that we're so attached to the internet, even at a place like Sugar Beach Villa.
If you want an all inclusive experience then go to a resort. If you want a getaway, then go to Sugar Beach Villa. If you're wealthy it's a no-brainer. If you're not wealthy still go for it, because I can't imagine a better return on investment (in memories)."

"I have been to Great Exuma many times. I always wanted to stay on Tropic of Cancer but was afraid that it might be too secluded! I've never been so wrong in my life. It was absolutely perfect for us. Many days we had "one of the best beaches in the world" all to ourselves!! The house was perfect size, great views from every window, all the appliances worked properly, and it had a flatscreen with all your directv stations. We grilled a few nights which was a nice change and we also visited Santanna's and Tropic Breeze each a few times. The place and location were awesome and my goal is to spend 2 weeks here the next time. My only advice would be to upgrade the bed quality or maybe even add a king to one of the rooms, then it would my new home away from home. Btw... Melanie, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. She answered all our questions, handled my internet problem immediately, left fresh flowers and also had a bottle of champagne in the fridge. A very classy and professional gesture. I would highly recommend dealing with Melanie and staying at the Pines. I know I'll be back very soon!!"
