  • Another great review for Dolphin Cove, Freeport Grand Bahamas

"My husband and I rented this one bedroom unit for one month this winter and loved it. We have absolutely no regrets. The apartment was well decorated, and sparkling clean and it didn't take us long to feel like it was our home away from home. The property, the grounds, and the pool, were all well maintained. The owners are always looking for ways to improve their beautiful property and satisfy their guests. Don, the property manager was very approachable, and accommodating. (thanks for the blowdryer!) Getting around the island is made easy because of the taxi services Paddy Wildgoose provides. She is a value added asset to the complex and is so accommodating and always friendly. The complex is very well located, in that it is only a 30 minute walk to the Lucaya Market, and a 10 minute walk to Coral Beach. I would recommend you bring beach chairs, if possible, otherwise you will have to sit on a towel in the sand. We really enjoyed the few days we spent at Fortune Beach. The restaurant there is called Banana Bay and the food and drinks are fabulous. The beach was pristine. You can also find lawn chairs, and shade if you wanted to get out of the sun. The Lucaya market area has lots of great restaurants to chose from. Among our favorites are Cappucinos and Breezes. We found that groceries were expensive. All in all, we were impressed and so happy with our month that we've booked a two bedroom for next winter!"

  • Childsplay fishing

"We stayed at Ed and Lisa's condo after finally getting to go across we had a great time. The unit was very clean and well equipped local people were help full in getting us around town when needed. Boat slip was accommodating for our 31 foot boat and access was easy. I would recommend anyone heading over to stay. Thank you Ed and Lisa for being so patient with us getting over and allowing us to keep our reservations. Thank you once again Shawn Biederman"

  • Amazing Vacation Rental!

"If we had known how much we were going to enjoy Freeport, we would have stayed longer! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and having such wonderful hosts make a world of difference. The home came with the use of a car – a Volvo station wagon. We ended up naming her Penelope – a great car that you'll enjoy driving on the wrong side of the road with :-) She's an older car, so be kind, but she'll take you everywhere you need to go, and then some. Gas is a little pricey in The Bahamas, but the freedom of being able to drive about and explore is priceless. (Note: some of the excursions on the island will charge you less if you drive yourself there and they don't pick you up.) Food is also a little more expensive in The Bahamas, so if you don't want to eat out all the time like us lazy people, the house has a great kitchen equipped with everything you'll need to make a meal. They even provide purified water for you, although tap water is harmful if you decide to drink it. If you're concerned that the owners live right next door, don't be. They won't intrude on your day as much as you won't be intruding on theirs. If you're concerned it doesn't have a pool, you're being silly. You're on Grand Bahama Island with gorgeous beaches. Highlights of what this home has to offer: * full sized, fully equipped kitchen * cable TV and reliable Internet! * washer and dryer * King-sized bed in the master bedroom with great pillows (we only used 1 room of 3) * Volvo station wagon (Penelope), and she has a couple of beach chairs and umbrellas in the back * silence – the nights were so quiet, and we had no issues with sleeping in either even though the sun was up around 6am * no tourists nearby, which is a huge bonus for us This is definitely the place to stay if you want to get away from it all, yet have all the comforts of home you're used to. We'll be saving to come back for another visit!"

  • Great Location!

"Our family of four (kids 16 and 14) really enjoyed staying in this condo. The location was great. We made the 5 minute walk to Taino Beach every day. On Saturday and Sunday it was like our own private beach. The other three days we were there, the cruise ship crowds were on the beach at Junkaroo Beach Club. This was great too - great people watching and you could rent a chair and get cold beverages at Junkaroo. We seemed to go to the grocery store (Solomon's had everything we needed) every day, so we were glad we had a car. You could get by without one, but we are pretty independent and liked being able to go whenever we wanted to. We also drove over to Port Lucaya Marketplace daily for lunch or dinner. You can easily catch the water ferry if you don't have a car. The condo itself was very nice - the kitchen had everything we needed, loved having the grill, the bedrooms were nice sized and the bathrooms were clean and nice! We did not use the pool since the beach was so close. It was the best of both worlds - quiet enough, but close enough to all the tourist things if you want to do them. Other fun stuff we did - visit to Lucayan National Park and it beautiful beach, parasailing, great dinner at Sabor and we had the best day of fishing with Lil Bs (which turned into a great dinner of fresh grilled fish)!"
