  • Perfect vacation house!!

"I recently spent two lovely weeks at Oleander in Dunmore Town on Harbour Island, and it was perfect! Within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the ocean, it is perfectly situated down a lovely side street. A very comfortable and charming house, with a well equipped kitchen and lots of wonderful outdoor spaces to choose from. The owners are wonderful, charming and very helpful. I would definitely recommend Oleander and certainly stay there again!!"

  • Perfect place for a play date with dear friends......

"Harbor Island is incomparable with regards to the perfect island getaway. Tranquil turquoise waters surround this laid back paradise of pastel colored houses, friendly locals, wonderful dining spots, and most of all, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This 3 mile stretch of soft pink sand, with its gentle surf and warm trade winds, will beckon you to just come and relax the day away, and when done, you get to go back to Gulememi Bluff! The Bluff is welcoming, is tastefully decorated, with 4 beautiful bedroom suites, a large indoor kitchen and living room area, but even better is the outdoor area. The pool deck is huge, with lots of relaxing lounge chairs that flows easily from one area to the next, with an amazing westerly water view where we watched the most amazing sunsets with our friends. Add the bbq for the locally caught lobster and bacci ball court, or take out the kayaks for a run on the crystal clear waters. The location of the house is really convenient but "tucked away" enough to make it very private. The home owners and housekeeper were so helpful with anything regarding the house or local information and hot spots. We cant wait to come again."

  • the house at the corner of paradise and bliss

"My family and i stayed at the Royall Lyme for Thanksgiving 2014. We had never been to Harbor Island but my family has a tradition of going away for turkey day AND i was turning 40. So we decided that going to the island off the island off the island of Nassau was appropriate. Everything about the house and the island charmed our pants off. We were 6 total people including 2 young kids. The house and grounds were spectacular: lots of room; felt like our own little compound (cause it was), we had the pool heated and was a great post-beach option; not super-luxurious accommodations but felt very hutchinson island (which is all about understated luxury). There are wild roosters running around the island and the property which adds to the other worldliness of the place. All in all it felt like a fantastic fantasy island, where all the locals literally know all the other locals. 98% of people are super friendly. You will run into the stuck-up shop owner here and there (Blue Rooster) but that is quickly replaced with the charm you encounter everywhere else. And i have to say, I've never evert felt better, softer sand in my life. I stumbled upon this place online cause it was called the Nantucket of the Caribbean. And i heart Nantucket. They are both roll up your pant legs, get your feet sandy/dirty/wet. If you like the soul of nantucket vs the look at my yacht it's bigger than yours side of nantucket -then this is the island for you. It's a playground for people who live well but don't need to show off. Practical things to note: - the house is a stone's throw from where the water taxi drops you off. No need to take a cab when you get in. - Rock House takes itself way too seriously. Everywhere else was a better and more island-appropriate meal. - Sip Sip was fun and worth every penny. - Lunch at Coral Sands and Pink Sands was fun and fantastic - The island is $10 a gallon of organic milk and $30 lunch entree expensive - Low tide at the beach is God's gift to young kids. Perfect water. Perfect little bitty waves - Faye the housekeeper has a restaurant on friday-saturday that you should try - You can buy fish right off the dock when the guy comes back just before sunrise - Buy beer across the street from Queen Conch when sitting there to eat ($8 for 3 beers and 2 waters, best deal on the island)in the liquor store - From here you can walk to everything you'd want to walk to in town - no problem - you will want a cart though to get to the beach"

  • Tough to Top This!

"Stayed at Little Arches to celebrate Christmas (wife and myself and 22 and 25 year old daughters). All agreed it was best vacation ever – only sadness was realizing on Friday that our week was up and we had to leave the next day! Kim (owner) was great to work with. Everything was better than advertised, all accommodations were in great shape, very clean and well kept. She provided AWESOME detail on logistics to get to the house (was great – flight was long delayed and we arrived at North Eleuthera tired and after dark but breezed through like pros thanks to her directions and the helpful taxi drivers that know her and pamper her guests). She also gave us the low down on all places to visit, activities to pursue and places to shop and eat. We did not get thought the full of the list, so are already planning the return to continue checking it all out. The island is a ton of fun with both the friendliest locals and the most awesome beach we have seen (and we have checked out a lot). Little Arches is less than a minute from the beach and we could sit on the upstairs patio and listen to the waves crashing every night. The options for restaurants run the gamut from upscale (The Rock House) to super laid back local fare (conch salads at Queen Conch). The multiple beachfront restaurants are great for any meal and the staff is awesome in coming up with all types of creative local drinks. There are also many options to buy food for cooking yourself and Kim has Little Arches set up to cook and or grill any type of items you are to as well (we cooked in for our Christmas feast). Have rented properties in a number of locals and found Little Arches the nicest place not only in terms of location and amenities, but the personal attention from the owner. She had not only provided the information noted above, but arranged for our golf cart, checked with us during the stay to ensure all was fine and ensured that we had connected with the maid and were receiving all the services we needed. Can’t wait to go back!"
