"Having been to quite a few Caribbean destinations but not to Harbour Island we did ask the owner (Julia) many questions both pre and post booking and I have to say her responses were always prompt, detailed and (as it transpired) very accurate.
The house itself is very nice and exactly what we had hoped. Almost more important to us was the location and this was perfect. Being situated just outside the twin the area was nice and quiet but within easy walking (or cart journey) distance. Just be aware that the adjacent property is quite close and you have to walk through their garden and pool area to use the dock but that property was empty for the duration of our stay and as such not an issue. There are two wonderful marinas within 5-10 min walk; each with good food and great for sitting watching the marine world go by.
We were very very pleased by the service provided by Julia and her team and have no hesitation in recommending this villa or area."

"We had the distinct pleasure of spending a week in this little cottage, a small paradise with a spectacular hostess. The property is beautiful, well maintained and quiet. Within a couple of minutes you are lounging on an expansive beach, almost by yourself, listening to the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
The cottage is well maintained, organized and very cosy. Everything you need is there and if it isn't, Rosie will do her best to get it for you. Rosie is a very interesting and fascinating woman who was so helpful and accomodating, even beyond the call of duty...
The cottage is located at the south end of the island in a nice quiet neighborhood. As is the norm, we had a golf cart rented which allowed us to come and go as we pleased.
We strongly recommend at stay at the Mermaid Retreat and take time to chat with Rosie. She is an amazing woman and we loved our week with her.
Rosie, Thank you again for your help, your compassion and your stories. Miss you,
The Allains & the Whites

"This was a great place for our family to stay while enjoying Harbour Island. It is centrally located on the island which makes everything very easy to get to. There is plenty of shade around the place so it never got to hot inside for us. The place had everything you could need in a vacation property!"

"Stayed at Little Arches to celebrate Christmas (wife and myself and 22 and 25 year old daughters). All agreed it was best vacation ever – only sadness was realizing on Friday that our week was up and we had to leave the next day!
Kim (owner) was great to work with. Everything was better than advertised, all accommodations were in great shape, very clean and well kept. She provided AWESOME detail on logistics to get to the house (was great – flight was long delayed and we arrived at North Eleuthera tired and after dark but breezed through like pros thanks to her directions and the helpful taxi drivers that know her and pamper her guests). She also gave us the low down on all places to visit, activities to pursue and places to shop and eat. We did not get thought the full of the list, so are already planning the return to continue checking it all out.
The island is a ton of fun with both the friendliest locals and the most awesome beach we have seen (and we have checked out a lot). Little Arches is less than a minute from the beach and we could sit on the upstairs patio and listen to the waves crashing every night. The options for restaurants run the gamut from upscale (The Rock House) to super laid back local fare (conch salads at Queen Conch). The multiple beachfront restaurants are great for any meal and the staff is awesome in coming up with all types of creative local drinks. There are also many options to buy food for cooking yourself and Kim has Little Arches set up to cook and or grill any type of items you are to as well (we cooked in for our Christmas feast).
Have rented properties in a number of locals and found Little Arches the nicest place not only in terms of location and amenities, but the personal attention from the owner. She had not only provided the information noted above, but arranged for our golf cart, checked with us during the stay to ensure all was fine and ensured that we had connected with the maid and were receiving all the services we needed.
Can’t wait to go back!"
