Wonderful Home with Amazing Views designed for peace and quiet
"The house: We just completed our six night stay at Cathy's house on the eastern side of Nassau. The house is very clean/large with beautiful views and very well appointed. The Internet was fast (yes we had to do some work while we were here) and kitchen is very large. The location is about 10-15 minutes east of the Paradise Island Bridge. Highly recommend renting a car! Cathy was very responsive to any of our questions/needs. The location is on the quieter side of the island and very well equipped for families. We ended up entertaining some of our local friends and had plenty of room for dinner for 6 people. The house is equipped with a very large generator just incase the power goes out (you won't even notice it). We were able to snorkel (and shallow water scuba) right off the steps from the Patio. We even tried our hand at fishing (hand fishing) from the patio. The washer and dryer work great as does the AC units and fans.
The Area: Yamacraw Hills area is on the eastern side of the island. This is primarily residential/vacation homes so we did not hear any loud music/partying. The area is very safe to walk in the morning and evening. The grocery store is about 5 minutes drive from the house with a few local restaurants within 5 minutes drive. The big chains & bars are more on the western side and on paradise island (If you are coming to the Bahamas to eat at McDonalds' your really missing the real Bahamas) but we really recommend getting Chef Perry.
We rented our scuba tanks from Bahama Divers (about 15 minutes away) which was very easy. The house is also located about 15-20 minutes from the cruise port for shopping/straw market.
Dining: Chef Perry Sweeting (Simply Dine) Personal chef. This is our second time using Chef Sweeting. His goal is to 100% satisfy/exceed the expectations of his clients. He would always go above/beyond what was necessary to make sure we were well fed and happy. We called him two hours before dinner and said we had four friends coming with us and he said
"Ok, we'll be prepared". From a cost standpoint the meals that Chef Sweeting prepares are as good/better then most restaurants and the money you save from eating out is huge. (Prices are very high in the Bahamas). When some of our local friends came for dinner we were talking about going to Fish Fry for lunch and their response was Why? You have Chef Perry. He is the best!
To Summarize: Wonderful!"

"Mr.Cilis was very helpful with travels and information. The rental has all accommodations i had a great time in the Bahamas knowing that I had a great place to stay at like Your Piece of Paradise. I will tell all my friends in United States about this location."

"This was the 4th consecutive year my husband and I have rented this spacious, comfortable villa for at least 2 weeks in late February (so we have obviously always enjoyed it), but this year, we were delighted to discover that the owners had completely renovated the kitchen, up-dated the bathrooms, and re-painted...so the place is nicer than ever (not "luxurious," but fresh and bright). AND it's impossible to exaggerate the convenience of having a washer/dryer in the unit! We love Viola's (the friendly on-site bar/grill) and Anthony's (a restaurant within walking distance which offers the best black bean soup in the world), and my husband, who likes to play a little blackjack on vacation, loves the short walk to the Atlantis casino. (We always rent a car so we can "cross the bridge" for groceries and the occasional fancy restaurant meal...try Graycliff, Luciano's and Matisse...but not necessary to have a car, especially for a short stay when it's not necessary to stock a lot of groceries, as one can easily get a taxi.) I should add that the owners are also a pleasure to deal with. The ONLY negative has nothing to do with the villa itself, but the pool in the complex...it's pretty and sparkling clean, but it's unheated...so it's FRIGID (at least in February...may be fine later in the year)."

"My family and I stayed at this lovely property from July 30th-August 6th, 2015 and it was absolutely wonderful. The photos online truly capture the exquisiteness of this rental property: stunning lacquered hardwood floor and ceiling, a spacious kitchen with adequate utensils that allowed us to cook full meals, and well decorated dining and living rooms on the first level. Upstairs is a huge master bedroom, plus two other spacious bedrooms with queen and double twin beds. The entire house was very clean! And if you’re not yet sold, here’s the kicker: there were souvenirs on every bed for the taking.
The house is located in a quiet, upscale residential neighborhood, with the beach just five minutes away. Others have complained about dogs barking at nights and disturbing their rest, but we heard no dogs, and we not have noticed anyway because we were busy soaking up the awesomeness of this locale. This property is at the farthest eastern end of the island, but don’t let this point on the map discourage you, for the island is only about 21 miles in length - east to west. Everything is within a 5-10 minutes drive (supermarkets, pharmacies, fast food, hospital/clinic, etc.).
Internet at the house allowed me to communicate back home via Skype and WhatsApp, which was very useful. Bryan was also gracious in allowing us to host a small gathering at the house to celebrate my uncle’s 60th birthday (that in itself speaks volumes).
You definitely need a rental if you’re going to stay here, for there is no “reliable” bus service from this end. I would recommend renting from one of the US-based rental car companies—they are so much cheaper than the local ones. Once you get your rental from the airport, take the northern coast for a scenic route to the house – it took me 25 minutes (a straight drive once on the coast…awesome!!).
Bryan, thanks for a lovely stay and for your generosity outside of the confines of our rental contract, and for allowing me to raid one of your coconut trees out back and rid it of about 20 water coconuts (that’s an $80 value in Nassau). Climbing that coconut tree took me back to my childhood days in the countryside of Guyana.
We’ll be back!
Thanks again from the Pluck family."
