"My family and I stayed for a week in October and The Beach Shack didn't disappoint. The location is perfect with a stunning sunset view. The cottage was very clean and was fully equipped. Anytime we looked for a kitchen item or bar utensil, we found it. We had no complaints for our entire week! There were four of us and it was the perfect size. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. It is exactly what it's called, a Beach Shack. It's not new and fancy but if you are looking for a comfortable, affordable place to stay on Staniel, you won't be disappointed. The owner just added a new charcoal grill and since it was off-season and the yacht club was closed for renovation (except the bar), we cooked most of our own meals. The views from the cottage were stunning where you could watch the sunsets, the boats going by or nurse sharks and stingrays swimming by your door. The outdoor space was large with a gazebo, comfortable furniture and a hammock. We found Staniel Cay a couple of years ago and plan to go back at least once a year and we definitely will stay at the Beach Shack again. My only suggestion would be to add some solar outdoor lighting, there were rope lights but we didn't find an extension cord to plug them in. Thank you to the owner for allowing us to use her property."

"When you have a place with all that this VRBO property has to offer this can very easily turn your VAcation in to a STAYcation. We usually rent a car and travel around Eleuthera when we visit our relatives in Gregory Town, but staying at Longbight made this trip a different experience. You can believe everything written in the reviews; from the kindness of Wendy, who was there to show us around on our arrival and wish us a farewell on our departure, to the detailed description of the house and surrounding property. The house is indeed very spacious, with lots of room to spread out and relax, comfortable sleeping accommodations, plenty of ceiling fans, and air conditioning in all the rooms if needed. The kitchen is better equipped than our home in Miami, including everything from a crockpot to a salad spinner. We thought it would really be nice to have a TV and Internet service, but because of the beauty that surrounds this lovely property, we rarely took advantage of these amenities. After a day of swimming, kayaking or snorkeling in our own private cove, we would finish every day relaxing in the comfortable adirondack chairs on the expansive back porch and await the beautiful sunset. After dinner, it was back outside to enjoy a sky lit up by stars, rather than the lights from a big city. We've been coming over to Eleuthera for 25 odd years now, and we have to say that because of where we stayed, this was truly one of our best visits to Eleuthera ever. I do feel like I should add that if you've never been to Eleuthera, it would be worth your while to rent a car and explore all the places mentioned in the other reviews. It's a great island with friendly people, and there is plenty to see and do.

"Jenny and Jeff are far and away as gracious a host as you will have the joy to meet. They saved us when we were stuck on Marsh Harbor after a very late flight. Having the marina at the end of the path assured us that before each days adventure we knew the weather and details of the area we were heading. That being said we still felt totally secluded! Very private at the southern tip of the island. (South Cottage)You are really getting a private island, and for my husband and I on our 25th wedding anniversary this was exactly what we were looking for. Having a boat is essential and being able to dock it in your back yard makes it so easy to come and go. You can tell someone had lived in this little cottage for a long time, adding and building and making it perfect to live comfortably with many places to sit and take in the view. Not having a/c was never an issue. The breeze coming from the south/east kept us very comfortable. We did leave each day around 10 am then returned around 5, so we were gone exploring during the heat of the day. Each day was an adventure! We visited all the islands and snorkeled all the reefs. We hit all the hot spots, so to speak. Just south and east is Abaco Inn, go there and have a bushwacker and fantastic view of the Atlantic. Meat is very expensive so we brought in frozen meat in our carry on. We cooked our suppers at the house and had relaxing evenings, taking dips off the dock and watching the sun sets. There's nothing I would change about this little spot, and if I ever return to this area of the Bahamas I will most certainly stay here again. I can't imagine a better place. (and I have NEVER said this about any other rental I've stayed in my life and there have been plenty)"
