"Our family of four spent Spring Break here based on the photos and reviews on the HomeAway website. Diane is a gracious hostess who seems to know everyone on the island. She went out her way to set up a charter flight to and from Nassau, a taxi from Andros airport, scheduled a lady to plait my daughters hair, as well as suggested accommodations in Nassau prior to our arrival. The property, Knoll's Landing, is a secluded beachfront paradise on an otherwise relatively undeveloped island. If you want nightlife and a cruise ship atmosphere, stay in Nassau At Knolls landing, nature provides ample entertainment for those who want an authentic island experience. Our beach house slept my wife and two kids comfortably with wind and waves to lull us to sleep each night. There is no cell service and the internet access was intermittent, but this was actually a positive since my wife could not check work email and our teenage daughter could not text friends all vacation. We found our daughter to be a very likable child when her nose is not buried in an iPhone and, surprisingly, the feeling was mutual. My son and I came for the bonefish. We scheduled 2 days on the water and Rodney is an exceptional guide and all around great guy, but the weather did not cooperate so no fish were hooked. Such are the vicissitudes of fishing, especially early season. Snorkeling, swimming and spearfishing for lobster are available directly off the beach, but for more diverse seascapes, Diane can schedule a snorkeling day trip to a nearby island which is about 20 minutes offshore. Our snorkeling guide, Yellow, was one of the kindest most soft spoken men I have ever met. He was very attentive to my 12 year old as he navigated to reefs, and he had an eagle eye for spotting lobsters for my son to spear. Writing this review makes me eager to return if the opportunity should present itself, and my son and I would readily hire Rodney for another shot at bonefish or even tarpon in the summer months. We would have no reservations about recommending this property to likeminded couples or families."Guest: Paul B. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: October 20, 2014View listing
"We'll agree with the maintenance issues, but minor in our opinion when you take it all in. We stayed 10 days and found everything to be wonderful. The community is quiet and well maintained. The view was spectacular, the beach was nice. We visited coral beach, lucayan Nat'l Park, Banana Bay and the Marketplace area. 2-3 visits to the Marketplace was plenty. Next time I'd bring some fishing gear to kill some time around the place, the neighbor was out daily catching bonefish, also some snorkeling gear. Paul and Eva were very accommodating."Guest: David D. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 30, 2014View listing
"This was the perfect getaway for our family. The Nutty Mermaid is a little piece of heaven and we were blessed to get to enjoy it. The house is loaded with everything you need and the pictures don't do it justice. We loved snorkeling around the island, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding and walking on the beautiful beach. We visited the blue hole and our kids thought it was an amazing place. We loved Treasure Cay's beach as well and JIC boat rentals took great care of us in providing a boat for our needs. (Go to pizza night there on Thursday at the marina!) We enjoyed BBQ night at "The Burner" and Chris entertained us. Make sure to visit the Pineapple Bar on Green Turtle Cay, excellent conch! Also, feed the sharks and stingrays at Manjack Cay. We loved all our excursions to the other islands, but nothing better than returning to the Nutty Mermaid for dinner and beach time in the afternoons. Oh and the sunrise is beautiful too! Michelle has thought of everything you could need while staying in her beautiful home. Thank you for a great vacation!!"Guest: Melissa B. "My family and I just returned from an incredible two weeks at Surfsong. The home was beautifully decorated and very clean. I loved the special touches, like fresh flowers on the table on our arrival. We enjoyed many mornings and evenings sitting on the large patio. We spent much time at the beautiful beach and in the pool. We also enjoyed watching the stars from the observation deck, while listening to the sound of the surf. Many evenings we enjoyed eating Bahamian delicacies like lobster quiche, Mac and cheese and conch salad made and delivered by the fabulous, Evelyn. We also enjoyed the wildlife we saw including dolphins, humming birds and land crabs. Treasure Cay is the perfect base to visit other cays and I cannot say enough about our days spent on the boat with Captain Mark Carrol. Finally, I would like to praise the owners responsiveness to our questions and needs. surfsong is truly a treasure in Treasure Cay."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 30, 2014View listing
