  • A wonderful holiday in Paradise

"Our multi generation family has recently returned from holidaying in beautiful Exuma. We have rented world wide and staying at Mermaid House was one of our best experiences. The pictures do not do it justice..The house is situated on the best part of Tar Bay. Fabulous white sand with not a stone to be found on the ocean floor. Gorgeous sunrises from the deck (or your bed if you have one of the two front bedrooms. )Kitchen has enough cutlery/dishes/glasses for the entire island. There is Apple Tv, DVD's and Wii to play. (our 5 yr old grandson had to bowl every night before dinner!). The Annex is newer and is clean and bright (altho no ocean views). The top deck provides gorgeous views (at this time of yr best at sunset as too hot during the day!). The teak outside furniture is plentiful on the deck and there are loungers and beach chairs for the beach. Tons of beach toys for kids (as well kiddie bed/high chairs/pottie if needed). A highlight for our family was the outdoor shower. Never used the indoor! Jeniece is there to help with any needs and local stores have more than enough supplies. We enjoyed Prime Island Meats which is 4 mins down the road and will take Credit card with no surcharge. But it is the water...that glorious blue water and the miles of beach to walk which is the main draw. Go to Exuma and enjoy Mermaid House. You won't be disappointed"

  • Even better than expected!

"We could not have been happier with our vacation at Ida's cottage. Spent one night in Nassau prior and much preferred the peacefulness and beauty of Black Point. We could see water from every window in the house. The bluffs in the front were fun to hike around and breathtaking to watch the sunset and stars from the high points. There was a lot to explore around the big rocks and every new path led to a beautiful scene. Out the back of the house we enjoyed the wrap around balcony which had a path to a white sand beach which provided the perfect place to relax on Ida's lounge chairs and swim in the clear, calm water. As others have said it is definitely worth renting the boat one day. We also added the tour guide who led us to all of the fun stops (pigs, iguanas, snorkeling, grotto jumping) and stopped for a great lunch at Staniel Cay. Just make sure to clarify the price before you go as the tour guide asked for more money than we were told to expect to pay. We used the golf cart Ida provided every day to explore the island. We really enjoyed packing lunch and taking the golf cart to a private beach about 15 minutes away. It was like something from a postcard. Cottage was clean, well stocked and comfortable. We brought our own groceries and liquor which was helpful though there are a few places to eat on the Island. Ida was very accommodating the entire trip and provided transport from the airport and back. We haven't stopped talking about the trip since and can't wait to visit again!"

  • Tucked away beauty

"It took 3 planes, a ferry and a golf cart to get to Beachwatch but it was worth every moment. If the phrase hole-in-the-wall makes any sense applied to the Bahamas, that about sums it up. Quiet, restful, pretty spot. The house is outfitted to please any kitchen maniac. Caught Wahoo, went snorkeling and just generally tooled around. The rooftop deck on the house is a great place to hang and be mellow over drinks. Our two boys loved it as well and they're hard to please. They both say it's better than Disney World. Highly recommended for low maintenance enjoyment."

  • THE BEST!

"Three couples absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle Rock House on Tropic of Cancer Beach on Little Exuma. If you're looking to get away from it all, this is the place for you. We either had this amazing beach all to ourselves or shared it with very few people. It is, indeed, a paradise. There was wonderful walking on the beach, kayaking to the Turtle and Alligator Rocks, and a little bit of snorkeling. But the sheer beauty of just being there is the best! The house is quite lovely, simply and tastefully decorated and is very functional. The drive back to Georgetown takes about 30 minutes for shopping, etc. We went to Tropic Breeze and Santanaas Grill in Williamstown for two excellent meals."
