  • FABULOUS 'SEA OF ABACO' VIEW AND THE HOUSE WAS PERFECT FOR US!

"We have stayed at Driftaway before and are always impressed when we arrive to find it so clean, well maintained and stocked with everything we need to have another amazing holiday. This time was our 20th anniversary so this was a very special vacation. With the north facing front porch and the south facing deck we enjoyed them both as we got ready for our day, enjoyed our breakfast and then later in the day for sunning and relaxing some more. We spent almost every day this trip on the beach (Tahiti Beach and Nipper's by boat and in the water just in front of the house.) We visited the bay just across the way at Matt Lowe’s Cay to visit the many turtles that appear to call that area home. We love how quiet the area is. We never once heard the neighbors during our 7 night stay. We had everything we needed right there; snorkeling, swimming and relaxing. Being inside the gated community at the end of Eastern Shores Point makes this a quiet, calm and private place to stay. Not like a resort with activities and lots of people. This is a total get away and we will be back to this house again! It was comfortable, clean, well appointed, we cannot say enough about it! Thank you! We will definitely return and we highly recommend Driftaway to families and couples. Thanks again Bob and Linda!"

  • Absolutely Lovely!

"This cottage was an absolutely lovely place to stay! The pictures are extremely accurate - you will not be disappointed! The care taker checked in with us the morning after we arrived to make sure all was well and let us know how to contact her. The owner called us twice while we were there to make sure everything was satisfactory and answer any questions we had. We felt very well taken care of! This was a 2 couple trip, so we each had a king size bedroom and bathroom of our own with a shared living room & kitchen to separate the spaces. It was perfect! This would also be good for a small family or a girls trip. The area is safe and everyone we met was laid back and friendly! The kitchen here is very well stocked. You can cook anything here. Maxwell's grocery store, which is only a 5 minute drive, has everything you could ask for in a grocery store. 2 of us are "gluten free" and it was no problem finding pasta, crackers and more. We chose to rent a car & would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to explore. The drive to Treasure Cay was nice and it was by far my favorite destination. The restaurant there had good food, and the beach was picture perfect! Cherokee Sound is another gem (with hardly a soul around) which we found after driving to Pete's Pub in Little Harbor. We took the ferry down the road from the cottage to Hope Town where we climbed to the top of the lighthouse, had lunch at Firefly, & shopped the cute local shops. We also took another ferry to Guana Cay for lunch at Nippers & a walk to Grabbers. Quite the "girls gone wild" atmosphere at Nippers. Interesting people watching but we all agreed we'd seen it once & don't feel the need to return :-) Not a good place for kids! We hired a captain with a 40 ft. sailboat for a 2 day / 1 night sailing adventure. We snorkeled the reefs at Fowl Cay & Mermaid. It was so relaxing and much cooler out on the water. This was a wonderful vacation. You can do as much as you'd like or absolutely nothing! The location of this cottage is central to everything. We would highly recommend this home and this location to everyone!"

"I have stayed at Crystal Waters many times and consider this my favorite vacation destination. The photos don't even come close to accurately catching the charm and allure of this special piece of paradise. The views are stunning and there are so many attractions they are too numerous to list, including private swimming pool and large decks for sunning, lounging and dining. The house is well stocked and comfortably accommodates large parties. I have brought many friends and family to stay here for weeks at a time. The deep water docks easily accommodate large boats and Tilloo Cut, within minutes to the South, provides easy access to the Atlantic for big-game trolling in minutes. You can be in several thousand feet deep water in less than 10 minutes. Diving is excellent with close-by Sandy Cay and Fowl Cay national preserves that offer stunning snorkeling and diving. The house is nestled on the South end of the Island, within walking distance to Tahiti Beach, and makes for a fun short drive by golf cart to Hopetown for evening dining and dancing. The house is also complemented by 6 2-bedroom, 2 bath villas that share their own swimming pool, which I used as the wedding destination for my daughter who was married on the Island. I highly recommend Crystal Waters for your next vacation."

  • A place to relax

"My whole family had a happy time there. Since we planned on spending our time mainly at the house, we did not need to rent a car. Traffic seemed kinda crazy anyway, and why stressing out on the wrong side of the road. Thanks to Billy for taking us to the supermarket upon arrival. Afterwards we just walked there or took the bus for eating out. Bank was a half mile walk, sometimes in the warm rain. Not once we felt like going to a public beach. The direct access to the ocean down from the patio was like having a private beach. In the water people with boats or jet skis would offer their services, and after dismissing the rip-off artists, we were able to recognize fair offers from a couple of decent guys (like a boat tour with the son of the sports store owners across the street). We have been in many hotels and rentals over the years, but somehow the time in the "yellow house" seems like our best vacation ever. Read the other reviews for more details. It's all true... I guess it all depends what people are looking for, but as far as this listing goes, WYSIWYG. Recommended for: folks who value some privacy and don't freak out if they cannot find the pasta strainer."

Bahamas Travel Tips

Access the Caribbean with a Stay at Bahamas Resorts

Visiting the Bahamas can be an exhilarating experience for the entire family as well as a newly married couple. With plenty of beaches and local culture to absorb, Bahamas resorts allow you to experience the hospitality and talent of the islands’ residents too.

Water Adventures near Bahamas Resorts

Among the 23 inhabited islands of the Bahamas, there are several choices in Bahamas beach rentals for the water-lovers in your family. Parasailing, swimming, sunbathing, diving and snorkeling are all popular activities on the islands once known to be inhabited by pirates. Search for your ideal choice in Bahamas vacation rentals for either a beachfront location or one found near the local nightlife and markets.

Experience a Sunset You Won’t Forget in Bahamas Beach Rentals

If you are lucky enough to have a view of the horizon and watch the sunset each evening from any of the Bahamas resorts, you’ll first be astounded at the beauty that the local residents have access to on a daily basis. You may also be lucky enough to capture a glimpse of a “green flash,” experienced when the sun sets over the blue-green Caribbean waters seen from your Bahamas beach rentals. Some visitors to Bahamas vacation rentals will seek out oceanfront dining in order to hunt for the ideal view to catch this flash during their stay.

Reserve Bahamas Vacation Rentals for Modern Luxuries in Caribbean Beauty

Bahamas resorts always offer you spa and salon services such as massages and facials, but the islands also tout several other activities the entire family can partake in. Take a stroll down the main streets of your island to find local artwork and souvenirs to tote back to your Bahamas beach rentals. Many Bahamas vacation rentals are also located near gaming venues, fine dining and even local golf courses to accommodate your every whim.
