  • Home away from home!

"We absolutely enjoyed our stay in Barbados. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and checked up on us to make sure that we were ok and had all that we needed. The first thing that stands out about this vacation home is that it's surrounded by a beautiful garden! There is a parking space for a car if you choose to rent a vehicle. The interior is very clean, comfortable and cozy. We loved that it's self contained and we could make our own meals if so desired. Having the laundry facilities at our disposal was great! Location, location, location; within walking distance to the beach, grocery, bars, restaurants and one of the south coast's favourite spots....St. Lawrence Gap! I highly recommend this vacation spot to anyone who's looking for a totally relaxed time in Barbados. C & D"

  • Outstanding property: Affordable, fully self-catering, excellent location

"We stayed for 1 week at Rio Santos Residences, 1-bedroom/1-bath apartment. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, fully equipped for self-catering with a fridge/freezer, 4-hob burner (no oven), microwave, pots/pans, dishware, cutlery. It was clean and comfortable and secure. It is open-concept with the kitchenette, table/2-chairs, and small living room in one area, a separate large bedroom, and a large bathroom with shower. There is plenty of closet space in the bedroom, as well as a wall safe to store valuables (e.g., passport, ID). The apartment we stayed in is on the upper floor of a 2-apartment unit, which enjoyed wonderful breezes and a sunny roof-top patio (with a somewhat obstructed view of the ocean) reached by a steep ladder/stairs. There is a fan in the main living area and a quiet A/C unit in the bedroom that works quickly and quietly to keep the room cool for sleeping. The apartment is in an excellent location, in a nice residential neighbourhood one block from the main street. A wonderful white sand beach is accessible via a public walkway directly across the main street. A full grocery store is located less than a 5-min walk from the apartment. The much-touted St. Lawrence Gap is within walking distance, as are numerous other restaurants/shops/beaches. Dive and other tour operators out of Bridgetown will do pick-ups from Worthing. The apartment includes a parking space but a car hire is not absolutely necessary unless you plan to tour the full island; everything else you need is within walking distances and/or accessible from the nearby main street by bus. The apartment is in the ideal location for exploring the region - up west are swanky hotels but relatively few walkable amenities; the city of Bridgetown offers little to tourists with respect to places to stay/spend extended time - most hotels/motels/apartments are in this general region for good reason. The apartment is difficult to find on a map but is located right behind "Mojo's" - an open-air pub/restaurant. We were concerned the first night that patrons at Mojo's might keep us awake at night (I'm a light sleeper) but with the bedroom windows closed & the A/C on, this wasn't an issue for us. Because this is apartment-style accommodation for those who might like independence and/or a self-catering option, you should not book this apartment expecting 5-star luxury or perfection. But we loved it and will not hesitate to book again if we are fortunate enough to visit Barbados again."

  • Seagrass

"Had a wonderful stay at Seagrass. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Spacious and clean. I would stay there again. It was close enough to everything to go by foot. Thanks again!"

  • A Garden Sanctuary

"Barabados is blessed with some of the most magnificent beaches in the Caribbean and some of the nicest people in the world. Just a short walk from a lovely beach is Glenville Gardens, overseen by perhaps the nicest people in Barbados, Barbara and Sugrim. Glenville Gardens, a few cottages situated in a beautiful garden, is a soothing environment where one can relax and enjoy the near idyllic Caribbean weather. The garden is a soothing sanctuary for plants, animals, and people. Barbara is an amazing gardener, and the grounds are filled with trees and plants that create a calming oasis and supply the bananas for her delicious homemade banana bread and the fruits (we were there when passion fruit was ripe) she presents as gifts for her guests. A few chickens and turtles are among the unobtrusive but welcome denizens of Glenville Gardens as are many birds, including hummingbirds and bananaquits, and a small group of green monkeys that often pass through the garden though they do not reside there. The cottages (we stayed in Heather), are lovely, well-equipped, and each has an outdoor sitting area. They are also immaculately kept and cleaned. There are communal spaces and a barbecue where guests can socialize if they wish. Privacy or community – it’s up to each guest to decide. This has to be one of the least stressful environments we’ve ever been lucky enough to experience. Glenville Gardens is close to beaches, restaurants, bars, shopping, and the excellent public transportation system that can deliver you from one end of the island to the other. Barbara and Sugrim are perfect hosts. They are hospitable, helpful, friendly, informative, efficient, and just plain wonderful people. Upon arrival, they immediately made us feel welcome and part of the family. When w had to head home, we did not want to leave, not just because we fell in love with Barbados, but because we were enamored with Glenville Gardens, Barbara, and Sugrim."
