"My family and I stayed with another couple at 'suits me.' My husband and I have an 18 month old. It was an amazing vacation! The views are absolutely gorgeous! Very short walk to Miami beach which has a 'baby pool' for the little ones. We ended up being at the home when the gentlemen that manages was also on the island. It was fun saying hi as we passed him on a daily basis while we went to the beach. Pat, the owner was also there. It was great sitting with her and getting to hear old stories of the home and her experiences on the island. These are times that we will tell our son about and never forget! Pat is truly a sweet person who wants her guests to feel at home! There is now a pack and play and a travel high chair at the home. Harriet, the housekeeper was no exception either! We also met some very nice people staying in the studio behind the house and enjoyed sitting and chatting while having a cold banks beer! If you have a car and want to explore, the island is beautiful and offers many great attractions. If you know where you want to go and can't find it, there is always a local willing to direct you! The Bajan culture is great. Everyone is incredibly nice. I have been going to Barbados for 6 years now and have met locals that I see year after year. I have the same local braid my hair every year, I buy homemade seasoning from another. Everyone is just so nice."

  • Best of Two Worlds

"We are a semi retired Canadian couple on a budget with some very specific needs for a vacation home: the need for a dependable internet as one of us needed to be able to work; the desire to experience all of Barbados; a goal to use the time to ‘get into shape’. This apartment/house was all we could have asked for and more. Tucked back in a Bajan neighbourhood on top of the hill above Oistins and the ocean, it is a 10-15 minute walk down to Miami Beach – one of the best beaches on the island. We had the best of two worlds during our 9 week stay: 1. The chance to meet a number of wonderful people who live here year round and quickly acclimatized us to all things Bajan; shopped regularly at the local supermarket just a block away as well as a small vegetable stand close by; watched kids go to and from school every day; and, on Sunday mornings, sat out on the balcony to hear singing from at least 3 churches close by; 2. Down on the beach we met people from all over the world each with their story and a few of whom have become friends; always an active exchange of tips re things to do, good restaurants, etc. Leroy’s place is one side of a duplex with everything you need for a comfortable stay. You feel like you are staying in someone’s home. A well stocked kitchen – important as we cooked most of our meals; Two (!) flat screen TVs with a cable package that included Canadian channels which was so appreciated; a wonderful yard, comfortable beds and air conditioning; Three balconies – one of which was perfect to sit out in the evening with a glass of wine, good friends. We rented a car for two of our 9 weeks – a chance to explore the island. All good! But the best part has really been about the people: Leroy kept in touch - was available, responsive and helpful . He has many good friends on the island: Audrey, who takes care of the house, was also always very responsive and even surprised us by bringing over a Bajan dinner; Rico also lives close by and helped with technical/computer needs (and so much more!) – he has become a good friend; Rowland is a ‘go to’ person picked us up at the airport and made us feel very welcome – always there if we ran into any difficulty. Each of these people were so generous and hospitable and at the same time, very respectful of our privacy and space. We leave with lasting relationships, a deep understanding and appreciation for all of Barbados – island itself and above all, its people."

  • We'd like to thank you once again!

"Dear Edward, (c/o Maya's Bajan Villas) It seems 2 by 2 we all arrived home safely. Thanks again for all of your help. The Villa was everything we could ask for and more. Plenty of room, plenty of towels, plenty of dishes and comfortable beds for everyone. No air conditioning was never an issue, in fact it was welcomed to have free flowing air and fans to circulate the air quite comfortably. The design of the villa is superb for air flow! Although this was a newer area for us to stay in, we found our way around very easily. Shopping, beaches, restaurants and the supermarket all nearby. ZR busses took us to many other favourite places. With social media, I'm sure we've peaked the interest in your Villa to many of our friends. Johnathan and Sonia were very helpful and only a phone call away if we needed them. Since I love to take pictures and you love Barbados as much as we do, I'd like to attach my most favourite picture of our vacation. Sunset at Rockley Beach. Wishing you many happy returns to Barbados and to your beautiful Bajan Villa! Very Kind regards, Manuela and Steve"

  • Canucks in Barbados

"We have only stayed at Bob's apartment one season, but we plan to return every year, if possible. The apartment is nicely located, in a quiet corner of the golf course, well away from any errant golf shots. The aprtment is close to the pool, and the laundry, is clean and cozy, and it is well-stocked with all the utensils, crockery and pots and pans one could wish for. A barbecue, nice deck area, and clean, well-maintained main living areas are the hallmarks of the Morris touch. The owner is friendly, approachable, and provided us with more than we bargained for. We have stayed at Rockley on many previous occasions, but found this unit to be all that we could ask for, and would recommend this location to one and all. It was home away from home."
