"We had a wonderful time at Seagrass!! WE were 2 families - 5 adults and 3 children, ages seven months, 9 and 11 years. The house was perfect for all of us, especially the baby! Nice and quiet, and the neighbours all kept to themselves.
We travelled around by the ZR van-bus. For $2 Bajan, you can go anywhere. We went to all the different beaches, restaurants, Oistins, etc. Hop on at any bus stop. Very frequent...every 5 minutes or so.
Every FRiday, you must check out Oistins fish fry festival! Music, food, entertainment.
We were closest to Dover, then there's Accra and Miami. Accra was the best with a great boardwalk, restaurants such as Chefette, KFC, Tapas, Just Grillin and coffee place next to it to get your coffee/latte fix!! Don't forget to catch the sunset on the boardwalk, you shouldn't miss it! Miami has stronger waves, but great for shade if that's what you prefer. The other 2 beaches, don't have much shade...so you would have to rent chairs and umbrellas for a small charge.
All beaches are public so you can go to any hotel as well and use the beach. You can also get a day pass to any hotel to use their pools and other facilities. We went to the Hilton in Bridgetown one day for US$55 each person. Lunch was included along with one non-alcoholic beverage along with access to the pools and changeroom. It was a beautiful hotel! Again, not to miss the sunset here if you are already there.
Try to get a tour of the island if you can. We took a taxi around and saw Bridgetown, Cherry Tree Hill (highest point of Barbados), Bathsheba, Bottom Bay, and final resting spot at the Crane hotel!
We experienced the local life, unlike if you were to stay on a resort and be stuck to just that. The house was perfect! The bedrooms were air conditioned. The downstairs has no AC, but there is always enough breeze to flow through the house if the windows and doors remain open. There are screens on the windows, but none on the doors. There is only a gated door but not enough to keep the mosquitoes out! WE were told that they are working on getting a screen for the doors. But, in the mean time, make sure to bring your own deet bug spray!!
The kitchen has all the basic appliances. One tip, bring your own snacks from back home. If you have to, pack a separate carry on with snacks! Bring your own favourite coffee or tea.If you plan on making your own meals, bring some of your favourite spices. Also, bring your own Tide pods for your laundry.
Def would stay here again!"
