"Best rental stay we have made. Trevor was gracious enough to pick us up on Saturday night and give us a quick tour so we could get our bearings. Maria`s rum punch was poured as soon as our bags were dropped and then we went straight to the gap , a short 2-3 minute walk. Excellent location close to the bars and restaurants of the Gap with easy Bus route access for getting around the island. The use of a local cell phone and landline while on the island was an excellent bonus.Wireless also good for internet to check out and make reservations for excursions restaurants etc etc. Trevor was there on Sunday to see us off. Although on the main road and close to the Gap we slept with no problems.Probably the rum punch along with the hum of the AC and fans kept us in dream land. Would reccommend this apartment to anyone for location and Trevor and Maria`s great hospitality. I hope the Brazil airline keeps the service running so we can return again soon."Guest: Paul S. "Just spent 9 nights. Very nice place and perfect location. It is actually bigger and nicer than the pictures. Close to beach, restaurants and bus. Beach is only a 5 minute walk away we timed it. Owners are very accommodating and helpful. Will definitely go back and would recommend. Loved my stay."Guest: Kathleen Z. Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 23, 2014View listing
"From the uncomplicated booking, to the extra care taken by Leroy to make sure we had the best time possible, this was a great experience. My beautiful wife and I felt competely at home in the large comfortable home, with full kitchen, flat screen TV's, BBQ and laundry. My wife particularly loved the view from the terrace walkout balcony off our room. Enjoyed our one evening just lounging in the tropical backyard. Also loved the easy access to beautiful Miami Beach and Oistin's busy town life. The community of Mont Rose, where the house is located, is two minutes walk away from grocery and liquor stores and the friendly local people make you feel like you have lived there all your life. Thanks Leroy, for the great time and for sharing your home with us. We will be back in November and will be bringing some friends who want to see it for themselves!"Guest: I.E. "What a wonderful spot in Paradise. Close to everything yet a few minute walk away from the center of tourism. Feels like local Barbados. Condo has everything you could want or need in your home away from home. Small grocery store next door. Larger store about a 15 minute walk away. Descriptions and pictures accurately describe this lovely spot. Rob was great to deal with as was Greg when we arrived. Dover Beach is a 2 minute walk away. Local buses about a 10 minute walk. This place has a great location, is safe and the perfect spot for a great vacation. Would highly recommend."Guest: Terry P. Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 28, 2014View listing
Christ Church Travel Tips
Things to do From Your Christ Church Vacation Rentals Base
Barbados’s unique claim to fame is that it is the most easterly island in the Caribbean. Although it is just 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, it packs a great deal into its limited space. The island is fairly flat and has an excellent local transport system which makes it very easy to get around and explore this true Caribbean gem. Further inland, the island has lush vegetation which is home to some unique and extraordinary wildlife.
Christ Church is in the southernmost parish and known for its superb beaches. It is one of the quieter areas of Barbados but the livelier towns of Oistins and Bridgetown are close. Christ Church has plenty of local shops where you can buy fruit and provisions as well as fresh fish. With a vacation villa, you can quickly adapt to the laid-back Caribbean lifestyle.
Barbados offers some unique opportunities for things to do around the island. You can swim in the clear waters with the giant sea turtles or take a trip to Harrison’s Cave. The quieter east coast of Barbados has some magnificent waves rolling ashore near Bathsheba.
Snorkelers and divers will enjoy a catamaran cruise to some of the best spots, where guests can snorkel and dive in the crystal clear warm sea. During the day, most visitors cannot resist heading down to the beautiful beaches.
An island jeep safari is a great way to see the island’s charms further inland. There are also plenty of beautiful hiking trails to see the wildlife, birds and historic monuments which recall Barbados’s interesting past.
Weddings and Honeymoons in Barbados
The Caribbean island of Barbados is always a popular destination for weddings, honeymoons and romantic vacations. It is very easy to arrange a beach wedding through a professional wedding planner. It also keeps costs down as guests generally pay for their own flights and accommodations. The honeymoon begins the minute you say “I do.” With guaranteed sunshine, Barbados is the perfect place to begin your life together.
How to get to the Beautiful Christ Church Beach Rentals
It is very easy to travel to Barbados and to get around this fabulous island. There are international flights daily from North America and Europe. It is three hours 40 minutes flying time from Miami, four hours 20 minutes from New York, five hours from Montreal, eight hours from London and nine hours from Brussels or Frankfurt.
The major airlines serving Barbados are Air Jamaica, American Airlines, US Airways, Air Canada, Caribbean Airlines and British Airways.
Places to Visit From the Well-Located Christ Church Villas
From your Christ Church vacation rentals, St. Lawrence Gap is just a five-minute drive away. “The Gap,” as it is known, is one of the most popular spots for tourists to visit on Barbados. It has excellent restaurants, offering a choice of cuisine and range of prices. After dark, the area is alive with vibrant nightlife in the local bars.
Oistins is just a short trip from Christ Church and a pretty fishing village. On Friday nights, everyone lets their hair down to the sound of Caribbean music. Colorful shacks serve authentic Caribbean food such as fish fry at low prices and the local rum flows freely. For a great beach party atmosphere, Oistins is hard to beat.
What to Expect Weather-Wise in Barbados
The beauty of the Caribbean is that it is beautifully warm and sunny all year-round. Temperatures are always reliably high, between 75 and 85 F (24 to 29 C). If that sounds a little too hot, the prevailing northeast trade winds generally keep the island pleasantly fresh. Barbados does get some rain, generally between July and December, but it falls as short sharp showers which quickly disappear. The island enjoys eight hours of sunshine per day on average, and 10 hours of sunshine per day between January and March, at a time when the northerly United States are shivering!
