  • Best time EVER!!!

"I was in the studio apt. for 2 weeks. It is just as pictured, clean, comfy, and quaint. Donna and Ann are super sweet. Locals are very nice. The Yellow Bus is a thrill ride, so for only $1 US, you can go most anywhere and experience a major thrill. Walking distance to most everything, fish market is great with a fabulous selection. Will definitely be back!"

  • One Porters Court

"We stayed at Number One Porters Court from July 7 to July 20 2013 and loved it! The house is beautifully furnished with everything I could ever need-just like home. Very clean, lots of closet space and very very comfortable beds-no skimping here! Books full of info on what to do, where to eat, shop etc....a pleasure to be there. Nice one level living with a beautiful veranda surrounded by nice tropical plants. Private but not if you want to mingle with others. Great time walking around area meeting locals and "yellow" "fun" buses to everywhere was a great choice-very easy from the house location to get around. Very Helpful keri-Ann, and Sandy of West Coast Villas (she set up all our tours) is an added bonus. We have rented privately before and it has never been this easy. Everything from start to finish went smooth. We appreciate the availability of getting a starter food pack and transport arrangements + all the info sheets around the house and everything being clearly labelled, ie light switches, etc. Its the little things that matter! It was the prefect choice for me, my husband and our son. Thanks so much for a lovely vacation!""

  • Great Family Vacation

"Just got back from my second stay at Cherub House. First time being August 2011, enjoyed our stay so much, that there was no doubt in our minds where we wanted to be so we booked a week stay again August 2012. Cherub House is beautiful inside and out. Love the way it combines luxury with a homely feel. The villa is so spacious that the family didn't feel like we were on top of one another but not so big that we felt distant from one another. Cherub House is situated in a peaceful and beautiful spot. Outside there are stunning views of the surrounding garden and golf course. The swimming pool is a great size and ideal for both children and adults. The villa is beautifully presented, clean and well cared for. The bedrooms are all great sizes and all have en-suite bathrooms. The living area is a comfortable and relaxing space and flows nicely to the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is a great size and has all the gadgets you would expect. The housekeeper Trina, is lovely, polite, friendly and so helpful. Such a hard working lady, that sometimes we forgot she was even there. Very work proud, which is evident in all that she does, including cleaning, washing and ironing. My kids adored her and would talk to her non-stop, which never seemed to bother her. Cherub House has the added benefit of a separate self contained 2 bed cottage. Ideal for extended family members or friends. It is also a great space for the kids to watch telly during the day away from the adults. The cottage also has its own kitchen and living room. Being situated in Royal Westmoreland, you are close to the restaurants, beaches and the wonderful shops at Limegrove. I cannot recommend Cherub House highly enough. If you are looking for a relaxing, clean, well maintained place to stay, with excellent facilities and housekeeper, with the added luxury feel, then this is the places for you. I will definitely be booking Cherub House again for my next visit to Barbados."

Paynes Bay Travel Tips

Paynes Bay Vacation Rentals

Paynes Bay Vacation Rentals are located on the west coast of Barbados, south of the city of Holetown. Holetown is the site of the original British settlement on Barbados and lies in the center of the parish called St. James. Paynes Bay resorts are very popular with tourists as they are situated near the best swimming beaches in Barbados. Calm, warm, easily accessible—it's not hard to imagine yourself walking to Paynes Bay Beach from your comfortable Paynes Beach Vacation Rental. Alternatively, if you wish to base your stay in an accommodation that can give you a sense of old world charm, you can try out one from the many St. James Barbados villas that dot the scenic beach-fronts.

Feed Sea Turtles at Paynes Bay

The capital of Barbados, Bridgetown, is within easy driving distance from Paynes Bay, as is the Grantley Adams International Airport near the southern end of the island. At Paynes Bay, you can swim with and feed sea turtles, which are tame enough to eat from your hand. A wonderful place for underwater photography, there are thousands of fish swarming around the coral reefs close to the island. Paynes Bay is a white sand beach and one of the best beaches for swimming or working on your tan. Paynes Bay is the perfect spot for diving and snorkeling too. You can also rent jet skis, a parasail, or scuba diving equipment, with instructors if so desired.

Barbados Offers Many Duty-free Shops

Once the sun goes down, it's time to check out the many duty-free stores and shops on the island that sell everything from well known brands of clothing and necessaries to pottery made by local artists. You can still have an English breakfast and afternoon tea in most areas, but there are also local delights to try, so don't be shy. Holetown boasts several of the best eating spots on the island and transportation is made easy with a bus system, car rentals and taxi cabs. You won't have to miss a thing!
