"I was in the studio apt. for 2 weeks. It is just as pictured, clean, comfy, and quaint. Donna and Ann are super sweet. Locals are very nice. The Yellow Bus is a thrill ride, so for only $1 US, you can go most anywhere and experience a major thrill. Walking distance to most everything, fish market is great with a fabulous selection. Will definitely be back!"Guest: Louise7 Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 9, 2014View listing
"Best rental stay we have made. Trevor was gracious enough to pick us up on Saturday night and give us a quick tour so we could get our bearings. Maria`s rum punch was poured as soon as our bags were dropped and then we went straight to the gap , a short 2-3 minute walk. Excellent location close to the bars and restaurants of the Gap with easy Bus route access for getting around the island. The use of a local cell phone and landline while on the island was an excellent bonus.Wireless also good for internet to check out and make reservations for excursions restaurants etc etc. Trevor was there on Sunday to see us off. Although on the main road and close to the Gap we slept with no problems.Probably the rum punch along with the hum of the AC and fans kept us in dream land. Would reccommend this apartment to anyone for location and Trevor and Maria`s great hospitality. I hope the Brazil airline keeps the service running so we can return again soon."Guest: Paul S. The parish of St. James has a rich history, dating back to 1625 when the first British settlers arrived. The city of Holetown was originally known as Jamestown in honor of the King. It is the oldest town on Barbados. The original inhabitants consisted of 50 settlers and 10 slaves. With an abundance of restaurants and great shopping, the area around St. James villas is the heart of the tourist area. Here, visitors can explore one of the few remaining working sugar factories at Portvale Sugar Factory and the historic St. James Parish Church. This church is on one of the oldest consecrated pieces of land on the island and is known as "God’s acre." A church has stood on this site since 1628, and visitors may enjoy a wander through the graveyard to see the resting place of many of the original British settlers. Visitors to St. James rentals will find a beautiful area, with a very social atmosphere.
Certainly, the main attraction of St. James is the beaches. The miles of bright white sand and crystal clear waters provide visitors with the island’s best beaches within easy reach of St. James vacation rentals. Those who enjoy swimming and snorkeling will want to try both Mullins and Heywood beaches. Here, visitors will find a wealth of marine life with tropical fish such as barracuda and giant sea turtles.
