"We loved being in a quiet neighbourhood. The beach was there for our convenience. Whenever we wanted a swim, we just went down to the back yard. It was a quiet beach. We appreciated that as we do not like those busy European beaches. We could not believe that some days we practically had the beach to ourselves. We spent our afternoons staring at the turquoise waters while sipping rum and Coke. My 88 year old dad got a kick out of watching the cruise ships come and go. Great location from which to tour. One work of advice. It you find yourselves going up the west coast, north of Holetown, there is a bar called Mullins Bay Bar. Nice location but total rip off. You can get better value elsewhere.
Thanks to Stephen for picking us up and dropping us off at the airport. Stephen, you are the best taxi on the island. We hope to return next year."

"We we so glad we included Farther Away in our visit. We stayed on the west side also, it is fun in a different way but the unspoiled beauty here is wonderful. The view, the breeze, the decor, a visit from monkeys, and the attentiveness of the host are all amazing."

"This location is ALL about self catering. For those of you who want All inclusive, catered or resort accommodations, this is not for you. As for self catering, it is a funky apt. One of the hippest Rum Shops on the island is across the street; Jack's Bush Bar, The Pile bay fishing market is next door to the villa apts. for fresh caught fish every day but Mondays, and Apt. 9 is 10 feet through a gate to the gardens and 25 feet to one of the most quietist beaches on the Island. Sundays may see a family or 2 of 20 max. But you can always tan on the Villa gardens away from the maddening crowds, and they are few, especially threw the week. It is central to restaurant row to the north and 5 minutes to Bridgetown to the south. Breakfast-lunch is authentic Bajan food at ridiculously low prices at Eve's resto around the corner. If you have concerns about being close to the Electric power plant and the large ships of LNG gas/Diesel that moor 200 yards from the apt. a couple of days threw any given week then this place is not for you. However, the cost, the quality of accommodation and the location to REAL BAJAN life, if you partake of it; the fishing village, is a value that will allow yourself the ability to enjoy the higher end restos without guilt.
It is why we rebooked as soon as we got back to Canada."

"A group of us stayed at Rabbit Hill over the holiday break this year and had such a fantastic time! The property was everything we could have imagined, and just as described--actually, even better! We stayed for a week and Agnes (property manager) and Winston (grounds keeper) were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. They brought us fresh fruit from the property upon our arrival and Winston cracked coconuts for us each morning he was there so we could have fresh coconut water. Amazing!
Most days we went out exploring the island to see all it has to offer, which is a lot! But we were very happy to come home to the serene east coast and Rabbit Hill every evening. Most evenings we made big meals and spent time out on the porch conversing about our adventures that day. Upon the owner's recommendation we had a local woman, by the name of Angela, come and cook us an authentic Bajan meal one night.. and it was absolutely delicious and completely worth it!
We all found Barbados to be a spectacular island. For anyone who tends to get a bit nervous traveling internationally and to new cultures (like myself!), Barbados is a great place to visit because the island is filled with really friendly people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Our whole group was in agreement that if we hadn't stayed at Rabbit Hill, we probably wouldn't have experienced even half of what we experienced on the island. It was our entire group's first time to Barbados and everyone had such an amazing time that on the last day we were all in very solemn moods because we had to leave and go back to our regular lives.
We will DEFINITELY be going back to Rabbit Hill again soon.. hopefully for 2 weeks next time!!"
