  • Holiday Bliss! Happy New Year: December, 2010

"We travel quite a bit - sometimes stay at resorts and sometimes rent houses. This is the first time we feel compelled to write a review. What a wonderful time we had in Barbados - much of the positive experience was because of the great accommodations and wonderful people at Villa Magna. The house has Mediterranean styling with a great layout. The pictures do not do it justice. It feels like you're in a private oasis when sitting around the pool - the views are breathtaking! The neighbours are great (they told us to say that :)). The Villa owner's parents are one side and on the other is Karen who competently and patiently handled all rental booking details with us. The owner, Roddy, lives two doors down. Karen arranged a van to get us at the airport and groceries for our arrival. Roddy met us at the house and showed us around when we arrived. We had phone problems and the issue was promptly rectified. Housecleaning was done mid-week by two very nice ladies who wouldn't take no for an answer - even after saying not to bother with a few of the chores, they couldn't leave without doing a comprehensive job. Roddy dropped by during the week to make sure everything was OK. Needless to say, the service was as great as the house. Speaking of the house...there are 3 nice bedrooms: a large self contained unit w/ a king bed that has a small kitchenette, private patio and ensuite bathroom; one with a queen bed w/ a private patio, access to the pool and ensuite bathroom; and one with twin beds w/ a small balcony and a bathroom next door. The AC worked like a charm for comfortable sleeping (although the tree frogs are loud!). There are 4 bathrooms – 3 mentioned above and a 2 piece off the living area. We can't comment on the TVs or living space as we spend most waking hours outdoors. We cooked most meals at the house. Our only 'beef' would be the kitchen – it’s a bit small and appliances (fridge, stove top, oven, dishwasher) work well enough but could be upgraded. The dining room sat 6 comfortably and dishes were plentiful. Last, the pool was clean and regular maintenance ensured it stayed that way. The area around the pool is a little snug...would help to change the round patio table to a rectangular one and have seating for six (though we managed to improvise). And finally-did we mention the spectacular views...and watching the fireworks NYE from the upper gazebo was awesome!! Thanks Karen and Roddy - we wish we could have stayed forever!"

  • Nothing short of Fabulous!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "Royal Glitter Bay Villas " in Barbados. From the moment we stepped on the property we knew it was going to be nothing short of amazing. We were met by a Fabulous lady " Nuru" who took us straight to the bar upon our arrival and we were served the most refreshing Rum Punch drink which is well known to the Islanders... She took us through the complex for a tour ,had our bags delivered to our rooms and made us feel like Royalty. What a beginning.. The Beach was Pristine. The first few days the red flag was up and I was dying to jump into the sparkling waters free of Seaweed... The flag turned to yellow and you couldn't keep me out of the water! It was simply Divine. The staff are the Best, they treat everyone with a high degree of respect. Whether you were looking for directions or an opinion on where to go for fun...anything, they are at your beck & call. We can even say that we thoroughly enjoyed the occasional seller coming to our lounger. They were extremely interesting and respectful of your time. You can get anything from the most amazing massage using a real Aloe Vera plant to shopping for local art and Jewellery. The condo itself is Spic and Span and nicely decorated with a wonderful balcony overlooking the pool and some with ocean views. You can walk the beaches both ways and meet up with amazing people from all over the world. We spent our time soaking in the sun ,reading a book, walking along the beach . Sometimes we ate at the bar on the site and the food was very good. We really enjoyed the first night when you get to meet everyone that is staying at the condo , great conversations, food & drinks... some people had guitars and we had some sing alongs too. You will enjoy seeing monkeys on the premises and an occasional cat or two. Once you leave the condo you can grab a cab, hop on a bus or even walk to certain places. We felt very safe. We both actually enjoyed hopping on the bus and meeting the local people who made sure we got off in the right place or told us about great places to eat and things to do.There is a market close buy and you can experience Barbados Grocery shopping. Some things on the shelf's you may never see again, that's for sure! We hired a Chauffeur to spend the day with us and he took us around the entire island. This we highly recommend. One day we spent at the Fairgrounds where I am safe to say anyone who lived on the Island attended. It was delightful to see eve"

  • Lovely Villa

"Spent 8 nights at Seaspray and LOVED it! Location is close enough to everything and yet still out of the way. Villa is clean, comfortable and well appointed. The Owners and Manager were wonderful to deal with from beginning of process until the end of our stay. Thank you so much for a great place to relax and enjoy Barbados!!"
