  • Holiday Bliss! Happy New Year: December, 2010

"We travel quite a bit - sometimes stay at resorts and sometimes rent houses. This is the first time we feel compelled to write a review. What a wonderful time we had in Barbados - much of the positive experience was because of the great accommodations and wonderful people at Villa Magna. The house has Mediterranean styling with a great layout. The pictures do not do it justice. It feels like you're in a private oasis when sitting around the pool - the views are breathtaking! The neighbours are great (they told us to say that :)). The Villa owner's parents are one side and on the other is Karen who competently and patiently handled all rental booking details with us. The owner, Roddy, lives two doors down. Karen arranged a van to get us at the airport and groceries for our arrival. Roddy met us at the house and showed us around when we arrived. We had phone problems and the issue was promptly rectified. Housecleaning was done mid-week by two very nice ladies who wouldn't take no for an answer - even after saying not to bother with a few of the chores, they couldn't leave without doing a comprehensive job. Roddy dropped by during the week to make sure everything was OK. Needless to say, the service was as great as the house. Speaking of the house...there are 3 nice bedrooms: a large self contained unit w/ a king bed that has a small kitchenette, private patio and ensuite bathroom; one with a queen bed w/ a private patio, access to the pool and ensuite bathroom; and one with twin beds w/ a small balcony and a bathroom next door. The AC worked like a charm for comfortable sleeping (although the tree frogs are loud!). There are 4 bathrooms – 3 mentioned above and a 2 piece off the living area. We can't comment on the TVs or living space as we spend most waking hours outdoors. We cooked most meals at the house. Our only 'beef' would be the kitchen – it’s a bit small and appliances (fridge, stove top, oven, dishwasher) work well enough but could be upgraded. The dining room sat 6 comfortably and dishes were plentiful. Last, the pool was clean and regular maintenance ensured it stayed that way. The area around the pool is a little snug...would help to change the round patio table to a rectangular one and have seating for six (though we managed to improvise). And finally-did we mention the spectacular views...and watching the fireworks NYE from the upper gazebo was awesome!! Thanks Karen and Roddy - we wish we could have stayed forever!"

  • Wonderful apartment with spectacular view!

"We really enjoyed our stay in this awesome apartment- clean & well-maintained. The kitchen is well laid-out, with lots of extra appliances. I thoroughly enjoyed the view even while in the kitchen cooking. The rest of the apartment is unique in that if there are more than 2 people staying there, a walk-way to the bathroom can be formed with movable closets to increase privacy in the bedroom. This is a feature we appreciated as we had our child along for the holiday. The shower is big with a convenient built-in bench. The owners gave us some great info on where to go on the island & provided the name of a very reliable taxi driver/rental car. The cost of the apartment was very reasonable & we would've paid more just for the view. It was easy to set up the rental with the owner replying quickly to all questions. Some favorites were the local beach- Discovery Bay, walking up the hill & along the golf course, & exploring many of the other beaches the island has to offer. A trip to Bridgetown was fun, but the shopping is comparable at the local shopping centres. North Point is beautiful, as is the East Coast Barclay's Park, and the south beaches- Crystal Waters being a fave- were all clean & safe. I have already recommended this apartment to all of my friends & family & have already booked a return trip!"

  • Fabulous

"This place is excellent. My wife and I have stayed at a number of places all over Barbados - Christchurch, St. James, St. Lucy. But we really felt at home here. We get hot and always need fans. Here was so cool and breezy at all times. It was amazing. There is AC in the bedroom but we did not need it. One warning, secure the doors because the wind will slam them quickly for you. <smile> The bed is huge and comfortable. It has some kind of special mattress. The decor is clean, fresh and islandy (I made this word up myself). Everything was flawless. If you want to relax and read a book, walk down to the extremely close beach, take a brief bus to town, it is all possible and easy from here. The owners are warm and friendly and at the same time respect your privacy. We would stay here again in a second. All the little things were thought of - towels, soap, electric kettle, microwave, books to read, fans. We saw no bugs or insects. It was immaculately clean. Highly recommended! It is BETTER than the pictures."

  • exceptional stay at bella vista, old trees! highly recommended!

"this is a lovely, well-stocked and tastefully decorated apartment in old trees, which i believe is the most beautiful complex in st james. this beach-front property is spacious, comfortable and well situated on a clear, sandy stretch of paynes bay. we loved the beach-front location, within walking distance to amenities. the owners vincent and patricia have done a wonderful job in making bella vista feel like home -- the linens in the bedrooms and bathrooms are top quality and the kitchen is well-stocked with a large selection of cooking supplies and appliances. the apartment feels very safe, located on the second floor, and is complete with 24 hour security. we had an exceptional stay at bella vista and i would highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in barbados!"

Barbados vacation rentals are comfortable, conveniently located and contain every amenity imaginable. Many of the Caribbean resorts are specifically designed to ensure that you can enjoy as many activities as possible right at the resort without ever needing to leave.

Barbados Vacation Rentals Make for Waterfront Accommodations

After you arrive on Barbados, you may just have a difficult time deciding what to do first. Many Barbados vacation rentals are located practically on the beach so you might like to soak up some sun and enjoy the beautiful water first. When you grow tired of playing on the beach, you can explore some of the shops for handcrafted items to remind you of your Barbados travel. For an evening meal, consider either cooking up a delectable entrée in the full kitchen of your vacation home or treat yourself to a night out at one of the many fine restaurants offered by Caribbean resorts.

Caribbean Resorts Cater to Your Every Need

There is no limit on the amount of nightlife offered in the Caribbean. When you travel to Barbados, be prepared to live life to the fullest as you enjoy delicious tropical drinks and sway to the sounds of bands playing at the many bars and clubs situated throughout the resorts.
