A true "Home Away from Home"
"There is not enough space here to list all the great times at Casita Tortuga!
My wife and I have been in love with San Pedro since first visiting in 1999. Now that our children are old enough to appreciate it too, we wanted to extend our stay for a month. If you wish to live like (and with) the locals, this is the place! The house is furnished in a warm, welcoming manner, the hosts could not be more ingratiating, and the neighborhood is filled with friendly, helpful faces. San Pedro is for the adventurous traveler. If you want to be coddled, then spend a fortune at one of the northside hotels and stay by the pool, or select another vacation destination. But if you want to immerse yourself into the culture, the beauty and the life of a local, look no further than Casita Tortuga.
The owners' guestbook states that their renters are considered "family," and we certainly felt that vibe throughout our stay. We will be returning, as we can honestly say it was one of the best vacations this well-traveled family has ever had. Thank you for opening your home to us and for providing us a platform for a lifetime of memories!"

"We booked Villa Incommunicada for a large family vacation, 11 in total. The house was everything to be expected, based on the reviews and photographs. There were a few disappointing factors, namely the kayaks that weren't in existence. There was one kayak on the dock but, only one paddle that was quite torn up. The sand off the pool area isn't really sand, more of a cement-rocky base but, this is common on the island - just don't expect a white sandy beach as it's near impossible to find on the island. The couches in the lower living room could use replacing, not much cushion left. Overall though, the house was more than adequate and perfectly comfortable for our entire group. German, our host, was more than accommodating and the food he provided was probably some of the best on the island. By far the best rice and beans we encountered and the scallopped potato dish they made was out of the world! If I could take the trip again, I would have German provide more of our meals as they were outstanding. We arranged for German to pick us up at the airport, with all of our golf carts and they were right on time and so helpful in navigating the luggage pick-up, etc. Use German to set up all of your expeditions and for any recommendations, he does an excellent job taking care of everything."

"10 of us including Myself, my wife, two kids (4,1), My sister, brother in law and their kids (5,2) and our parents stayed in this lovely home from the 23rd of March until April 1st, 2015. The house met our needs perfectly. Our parents particularly enjoyed having a separate suite with a separate entrance so they could get away from the commotion of four kids at times. The bedrooms upstairs were well separated giving each family a sense of privacy. Mariceli, our cook for the trip was great as was her assistant and daughter who helped each day for lunch and dinner. The food was fresh and well prepared and presented for each meal. The pool was a great addition, especially with young kids as the ocean is not ideal for swimming from the beach due to the sea grass, which there is a lot of. The kayaks and paddle boards worked well, as did everything else in the home. The island is easily accessible with a golf cart and made our morning trip each day for cinnamon buns at the bakery very simple. We snorkeled one day which was a highlight, we organized through pelican reef and were picked up on our dock. We also bone-fished two days which was also wonderful.
The palm house was a perfect way to enjoy Belize, I definitely recommend."
