Recent San Pedro property reviews

  • Nicely updated condo

"This condo was exactly as described in the VRBO information and the owner was extremely helpful in responding to my email enquiries and phonecalls about both the property and other things we needed info on in the town of San Pedro. I would highly recommend this place. It was conveniently located to the heart of the town as well as the waterfront. My only complaint had nothing to do with the condo itself but the beach area close by is not that nice as there really aren't many nice swimming areas due to the condition of the beach and the turtle grass. The property is clean and well maintained and has had recent major upgrades to the kitchen, bathroom, flooring and windows as well as air conditioning unit. My husband went scuba diving with San Pedro diving school and they were also tremendous to deal with. The scuba diving is fantastic. We enjoyed The Crazy Canuck bar that was in walking distance for Sunday fun evening and The AJ's (Average Joe's)bar has fantastic chicken wings and the service was great. The local manager of this property was very easy to deal with and made himself available for us when we arrived to make sure eveything was as it should be. As he works at another place as well I would recommend calling him when you arrive from the airport to make sure he is available to meet you when you get there. We rented a golf cart for a day so that we could drive from one end of the island to the other but everything is within easy walking distance to the condo. My only complaint was that the couch was not that comfortable for us and we would have preferred two easy chairs but that is strictly our only concern and is really not the owners problem. A great place and excellent value as we did check out other prices while we were there. This property is an easy three block walk from the airport but if you have lots of luggage you need to take a taxi which will cost you $5 US. All in all a great vacation."

  • Beautiful surroundings for a relaxing vacation

"My husband and I stayed here for an early honeymoon. The condo and its view were spectacular. Everything was immaculate and the customer service is top notch. EVERYONE at the Resort was so friendly and attentive. We did not take adventures (although they were available to us) but rather relaxed at the pool."

  • Exceeded my expectations

"I highly recommend staying at La Perla del Caribe. The property was so beautiful and super relaxing... we stayed in Villa Sand and it was perfect for our 2-couple group. The description of the villa and amenities is accurate, although the photos don't really do it justice. As the trip planner, I was nervous about appealing to the other travelers' preferences, as two of them are world travelers. But my worries were unfounded as we were all speechless when we arrived, with huge smiles on our faces. The villa and the views are breathtaking. For those who like to stay in touch, WiFi worked great also. Every question I had before booking was answered quickly and with great detail by the owner. This exceptional service extended throughout our trip. It was also great to have the San Pedro airport transport to-and-from La Perla included. It was a personalized experience from the moment we landed on Ambergris Caye, with minimal effort from us which added to our relaxation and enjoyment! TIPS: La Perla is about 6 miles north of the town of San Pedro (10-15 minute boat ride). We enjoyed the seclusion of the northern end of the island and it wasn't a huge hassle to get to town. It's best to be familiar with the boat taxi pick up times (which are posted on the dock in front of the villa) and also purchase a weekly boat pass, it will save you some cash. I would recommend buying some groceries in town before heading to the villa since there's only a few food options close by. In town, our favorite was Tacklebox (both for the value and the fun atmosphere, and the food was good too!). We also liked Crave Restaurant and Blue Water Grill. For activities, I would recommend snorkeling, fishing, and a beach bbq. We took a day trip to the Lamanai ruins on the mainland, overall a great day but be prepared for the long journey by boat and bus! We didn't make it out to the Blue Hole or Caye Caulker, but we heard both are great excursions. There's a lot of options to choose from and we did not have enough time to do them all in the 5 days we were there. One last tip... take a nap in the hammock on the screened porch, it completes the paradise experience! We will be back to stay here again!"

  • Perfect Beach Vacation

"Our family of 7 adults and 1 infant thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Blanca. Brian and the staff were there to help us enjoy their beautiful island. He was knowledgeable, extremely courteous and without his expertise, we wouldn't have had the opportunities which created a wonderful family Christmas holiday in Belize. We would highly recommend Casa Blanca to families and couples."
