"We LOVED our stay here at the Grand Caribe - but more importantly this unit in particular is one of the best. There are only 2 buildings that look out directly on the ocean; Building A looks out at the pier, whereas Building H (this one) has no blocked view and is more private. The icing on the cake is that the interior is beautifully decorated and since it is a ground floor unit the pool is only a step away! Honestly, the only other unit I would ever rent would be the penthouse in Building H if I had a larger group. This unit, with two bedrooms and two baths, was perfect for our family of 5. Regarding the Grand Caribe - it is beautiful and is known for its customer service. The front desk was always helpful and responsive. Though there are some other resorts up and down Ambergris Caye, we liked GC for two reasons. First, the ones closer to San Pedro are older and just not as nice (our swimming pooled ROCKED). Second, the ones that are further up make you compromise the distance into town with a golf cart. So GC was the perfect compromise. We went into town 3 times during our 7 day stay so proximity was important. Other times, we had water taxis/boats pick us up at the GC pier to take us to different outings."Guest: Team Karim Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 28, 2014View listing

"My husband and I stayed at Coral Caye Villa for our honeymoon and had a nice relaxing time. The Villa is beautiful and the grounds are kept by David, the very helpful caretaker. We asked David about fresh seafood and vegetables and before we knew it he had brought us 2lbs of fresh lobster and 2lbs of shrimp...and the prices were fantastic! He also came to our door to let us know that the local vegi and fruit wagon had just shown up, the prices and product were much better than what we found at the store...although the little store behind the Villa was very convenient for all other food that we needed. The fishing through Sundiver was exceptional, we caught 17 snapper and had a great time with the 2 guides, they were very personable and they cleaned all the fish for us at the end of the trip...just perfect! Thank you to the Owners for opening up your beautiful Villa for us to enjoy!"Guest: Honeymooners Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 25, 2014View listing
"Our stay at the Grand Caribe was very nice. The unit was comfortable and had exceptional views over the pool and ocean. The housekeepers were fabulous and the grounds were immaculate. My only very small issues were that the kitchen doesn't have enough kitchenware to really cook (missing a cutting board, broiler pan, baking dishes and mixing bowls). And being a health fanatic, I HATED cooking on toxic non stick pans. The bar/grill on the grounds was expensive, and the food was so so. But Akbol the restaurant a couple blocks south had exceptional food and really good prices. There were also other bars and restaurants in walking distance and we even did the 2.5 mile walk along the water to town a couple of times. It costs $5 us/person for a water taxi trip one way to town, and Estel's in town has great breakfasts. Sitting out on the dock watching the fish and manta rays (we even saw an eagle ray) was entertaining. The resort staff are all very friendly and always willing to help. We were w/out internet access for over 2 days during our stay and the electricity was out for a day but these types of things aren't in the owners control anyway and the resort did a barbeque lunch the day of the planned power outage."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: December 23, 2013View listing
