"Great house on a peaceful beach. Caretaker ,Rhonesh, was very helpful and knowledgeable of Island. We were able to use the resort pool near by at Portifina. Take a fishing boat out early in your stay and have the Captain clean/filet your fish and eat them during your stay. Food can be a little expensive on the Island"Guest: Bob Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: December 4, 2014View listing
"We decide to take our annual vacation in Belize this August. My family and I definitely enjoyed it. We stayed at the Bamboo House villa and had an amazing experience. It is the place to be especially if you want to experience the real natural feel of Belize on an island. It was a home away from home for us. When we arrived, the Cook Camila had surprised us with some shrimp ceviche, Belizean stew chicken and coconut rice which were delicious. Yvette the new property manager showed us our rooms and the layout of the villa, while Edwin the grounds manager took our luggage to the rooms we chose to stay. Everyone there was so welcoming and most helpful to us. The rooms were cleaned every day by the house keeper. Edwin would take some of us in town once a day on Bamboo House golf cart to get whatever we need, and sometimes we would use the bicycles and ride around to get a better feel of the island. The grounds were beautiful with white sand that you can walk around barefoot. The security at Bamboo House was more than enough, especially since we had small kids. The pool is located on the second floor deck that is ten feet high and the Palapa on the first floor was perfect to sit under and enjoy the view of the lagoon. When we were not at the villa, we were touring the town by the golf carts we rented and enjoying drinks and conversation with locals and other tourists at the nearby lounge, bars and restaurants (Kama lounge, The Palapa, Ak’Bol and Molly’s restaurant and Irish pub to name a few). We went snorkeling, diving and visited Mayan Ruins that Yvette helped organized for us. That was surely the upside of having everyday assistance. The heat was definitely on in San Pedro which made the rain water showers perfect for a cool down after a hot day. A piece of advice, do not forget bug spray, you are in the Caribbean, with that said; it will be all smooth sailing and one awesome vacation. We enjoyed our time in San Pedro, and staying at Bamboo House villa definitely gave us the tropical Caribbean feel of our vacation. When you want the experience of nature, relaxation and fun, BamBoo House Belize would be a place I recommend. It is as close of just half mile from town for when you want the party scene, but far enough to get the peace and quiet for your relaxation."Guest: Jeannie S. "We LOVED our stay here at the Grand Caribe - but more importantly this unit in particular is one of the best. There are only 2 buildings that look out directly on the ocean; Building A looks out at the pier, whereas Building H (this one) has no blocked view and is more private. The icing on the cake is that the interior is beautifully decorated and since it is a ground floor unit the pool is only a step away! Honestly, the only other unit I would ever rent would be the penthouse in Building H if I had a larger group. This unit, with two bedrooms and two baths, was perfect for our family of 5. Regarding the Grand Caribe - it is beautiful and is known for its customer service. The front desk was always helpful and responsive. Though there are some other resorts up and down Ambergris Caye, we liked GC for two reasons. First, the ones closer to San Pedro are older and just not as nice (our swimming pooled ROCKED). Second, the ones that are further up make you compromise the distance into town with a golf cart. So GC was the perfect compromise. We went into town 3 times during our 7 day stay so proximity was important. Other times, we had water taxis/boats pick us up at the GC pier to take us to different outings."Guest: Team Karim Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 28, 2014View listing
"Adagio Villa was everything it was promised to be and much much more! From the moment we arrived on the island we were welcomed by everyone including Camille and Florencio. We were guided on fabulous day trips and visited many local restaurants and bars. Each one special for its own island flare. Many thanks to Camille and Florencio for making our dream vacation perfect. Thank you to Dennis for overseeing all of the details from afar and making sure all of our needs and wants were met flawlessly."Guest: Mike and Brenda Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: December 13, 2014View listing
