  • Wonderful

"We had a wonderful vacation at Sunset Beach. We arrived at the airport and our taxi was there with in minutes. The condo was spotless. Ice was made in the freezer for our first night of cocktails. There is plenty of room in the condo. Nice surprise is we could drink the water and make our own ice. Plenty of sheets, towels, extra blankets and pillows. The pool is nice and we loved the pier. We were out there every night looking at the different fish. The hammocks were an added plus. We appreciated the furniture on our private porch and out on the beach. There is a small market you can walk to for groceries. The prices were very fair compared to the bigger groceries in San Pedro. We do recommend a golf cart. Walking or riding bike into San Pedro was a bit of a hike. We felt very safe and most people were friendly and helpful as we were friendly and respectful. We used SUYA for our excursions and had a great time. Laminae, deep see fishing and snorkeling. Yes we would come back. Only negative for us, was we could not snorkel right off the shore. Quite a bit of boat traffic going south to Hol Chan reserve (LOVE!) and Shark Alley (interesting). We did use the kayak's and had some fun with those. Thanks Diane (upstairs) for all your tips and Beth for your welcome to Sunset Beach. We fell in love with Belize!"

  • Perfect location with a million dollar view!

"We found this property perfectly located 20 minutes away from downtown San Pedro. Just a short water taxi ride away. The treehouse was furnished perfectly with an amazing balcony. We loved the house, we loved the care taker and his son, we loved the weather and the breeze, we loved the diving and snorkeling. I just cant find enough words to tell you how much we loved this vacation. One of my favorite things about the house was the water system, only provided by rainwater storage. I have never felt cleaner after a shower, and my hair has never felt healthier than it did with that water. We fished every other day and had wonderful dinners at the house. We also went out to dinner a few times, however the meals were quite expensive that way. If I were to say anything negative about this location, it would only be that everything is quite a walk away, with very few options for meals. I loved the remoteness, however I would rent a golf cart next time for easier transportation. We will be back!"

  • Deserves 6 Stars

"This was our second stay at Villa Adagio, and we could not recommend this villa more highly. The home is gorgeous - luxurious but relaxed, with every amenity imaginable. We were 3 generations and 6 people, and each of us felt pampered and comfortable. Restaurants and shops in San Pedro and to the north are a short hop away in the provided golf cart, but cooking in the chef's kitchen was a delight we enjoyed for many meals. Belize is a fascinating country - small but very rich and diverse in culture and environment. World-class snorkeling or diving is a quick boat ride from the villa. We went to the mainland and enjoyed touring the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich, zip lining, hiking through the jungle and cave tubing, all in one day, with a terrific guide arranged by the owner Dennis. Camille and Florencio are assets to be treasured - skilled at their jobs, friendly, and readily available whenever you need them but otherwise unobtrusive so you feel that you are truly at home in your own perfect paradise. Camille took us one day to a little-known pristine beach with sparkling blue water, and Florencio found us fresh snapper (it can be surprisingly hard to get fresh fish despite the fact that you are surrounded by water), and even cleaned the fish for us. Dennis could not be a more caring, helpful and knowledgeable host. He loves Belize and knows it thoroughly, and patiently answers all your questions. He is truly dedicated to assuring that you have a memorable visit in his home. The combination of a spectacular villa, dedicated staff and owner, and beautiful Belize guarantees that you will have the vacation of a lifetime."

  • Wonderful Vacation!!

"We had a group of 9 adults staying at the house and we all were VERY pleased with the accommodations! When choosing this house, we had narrowed our search down to 3 homes and voted as a group. Part of the reason we choose this house was having on site staffing of Alfred & Diana. Not a mistake!! They were fabulous!! We started with a welcome dinner on the Saturday we arrived, which consisted of lobster tails, fresh fish & chicken! What a spread that tasted as good as it looked. Would highly recommend having Diana cook for your party. We took the Tropic Ferry over from the airport as recommended - but going over we had pretty rough seas that made the trip long, cold and very choppy. Doing it again, we all would have chosen taking the plane instead. You can't depend on the weather/seas but at least flying you'd cut the commute time down to 20 minutes getting to the island. We also went snorkeling with Seaduced By Belize (Alfred recommendation) and couldn't have been happier! Top notch company focused on customer service!! We had all levels of experience and we all felt taken care of. Never had an empty glass of rum punch or beer, and the ceviche was awesome! They even went to the effort of getting some NA beer for a member of our group! We rented 1 golf cart for the group for a week (Alfred took care of this for us) which worked out great. Some took water taxis to town while others hopped on the cart and while in town grabbed some groceries/beer. 2 doors down from the house is a great place to eat/drink - Rojo! As a group we went twice and again, everybody was happy! Having a house phone to take with you was icing on the cake staying at BajaMar! Alfred is the first person listed, so you're never more than a touch away from him. It's always a little nerve racking picking a vacation home to rent, especially for a larger group of people. Don't worry a minute longer about renting BajaMar. I rely on reviews in making my decisions, so I don't write that statement lightly. Cheers!"
