"Just got back from our stay at the Grand Caribe and am missing Ambergris Caye already! We stayed 12 days in this beautiful condo and had the option of renting it as a 2 bedroom. The resort is first class, staff are more than willing to help you with all your needs. The maids cleaned the condo daily including doing the dishes, laundry and mopping the floors. Everything at the resort is clean and well maintained, we even saw the staff rake and clean the beach area twice daily. The resort is one of the few on the island where you can walk in and swim right from the beach. We also enjoyed snorkeling right off the dock. Love the location of this resort and in our opinion, one of the nicest north of the bridge. You are far away enough from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro yet close enough to bike or hike into town. The resort is also close to a lot of good restaurants. We highly recommend Ak-bol yoga retreat resort, a two minute walk south for their restaurant and if you enjoy yoga, they have classes at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day. The prices were great as well, $4 U.S. for 3 chicken salbutes! Try the pizza too, it is amazing ? Also, close by is the Lazy Croc, Aji’s and Capricorn. All have great atmospheres right on the beach. We did visit the Palapa Bar about 5 min. south down the beach, a lot of fun, and if you are hungry try the slow cooked pulled pork. We rented bikes for our entire stay at Maya House bike rentals just a short walk south from the resort. We found this to be our mode of transportation as we enjoyed the exercise and exploring riding up and down the beach path. One day we rode 45 minutes north of the resort and to our surprise found Xtan Ha beach. Most beautiful beach, no seaweed, beautiful blue Caribbean and white sand. They have tables in the water where you can eat or enjoy a cool topical drink. Snorkeling at Hol Chan Marine reserve and Shark Ray alley is a must. If you are not to keen on snorkeling, you can take the glass bottom boat. One day we took the water taxi into Belize city and hired a taxi to take us to the Zoo. Great to see the Jaguars and other native animals in their natural environment. Tips: In San Pedro, Belize Chocolate factory, chocolate chip cookies and brownies, mmm! Eat at Mesa Café #1 restaurant on Tripadvisor but only open 9-5. LOTS to see and do on this island and close by, even golf on a nearby island, ask locals, front desk or get a travel book. Tacogirl.com offers discounts for Tropic Air."Guest: GM Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: February 19, 2014View listing

"Paula nd Brad, Thank you so much for all your help with the trip! You are the greatest people and easy to work with for renting a house in San Pedro. All your advice made the trip even better!! We absolutely loved your wonderful home, Casa Amarillo in San Pedro. Our family of 4 had plenty of room and the pool and dock were amazing. The trip went so smooth and we were picked up at water taxi dock by your staff and they already had our golf cart waiting in parking lot! On way home, we took Tropic Air and it was so easy and a beautiful scenic trip from the air. (Even with our entire luggage…LOL) My husband now considers himself a fisherman. He was at the dock first thing every morning and even had Lone Star Grill cook his fish for him!! (Great restaurant near the house) We were able to go right from the dock on a snorkeling tour and saw incredible fish, sharks and sea rays in Shark Alley. It was so close to the house and made it a breeze to go on tours from the dock. Loved that the house was south of bridge! The golf cart rides were great adventures and still miss going around town and seeing all the sights. So Much to do in San Pedro and many places to visit!! I snorkeled every day from the dock and relaxed and read my book. VERY relaxing and perfect house for family of 4 and we only used the bottom half of the house. The best food was made by Marfa!! We had Marfa fix us lobster dinner one night and her lobster fritters were amazing (calamari too)!! She fixed our meals at least 3 times and wished I had done it more! We loved going in town on the golf cart and even went to the Palapa Bar north of the bridge and had the best time drinking in the water with a bunch of great friends we met while we were there. Cruz was awesome and played volleyball with the boys and also prepared our fire so we were able to cook s'mores and stare at the beautiful stars by the ocean! It was our favorite vacation by far and the house made it the best! I looked at other houses in San Pedro and still love Casa Amarillo the best as the ac worked great and pool, dock and bar was awesome! House was always kept up and we only wish we could have stayed another week! I will call you soon as need to book for next year! PS: Even "Cookie", the best watch-dog ever, made us feel welcome!! Thanks for everything!! The Boggess Family Southlake TX"Guest: The Boggess Family Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 29, 2014View listing
"Our group of 3 couples stayed in the downstairs apartment of Casa Caracol November 21-Nov 29. It was our first trip to Belize, and Ambergris Caye. Phil was very responsive to my emails during the months leading up to our visit. We had him book our flights from Belize City to San Pedro. He met us at the San Pedro airport as promised, and upon our arrival at the house he went over things we should know, which was very helpful. If you listen to his instructions you should have no problems. The house was very clean and inviting, and had everything we needed. We did not do any cooking, as many restaurants and roadside stands were inexpensive, easy and close. We were surprised to see golf carts and other vehicles driving on the beach in front of the house, though it really did not cause any problems for us. The bar next door was really nice... good food and cold beers at reasonable prices. It did get a little loud at night sometimes, so be aware if you are a light sleeper. We used the 2 person kayak and Phil gave us some important instructions before we went to insure our safety. Phil arranged a snorkel trip for us that was fantastic! He also arranged for golf carts when we were ready. He accumulated those charges and we paid him at the end of our stay, which was convenient. He was very responsive to any questions or anything we needed during our stay. We had a lot of fun exploring and riding around on our golf carts. The beach was not the best for lounging, though that didn't stop us ;). We floated in our rafts right in front of the house, and there are lots of creatures to be found in the sea grasses. The locals are very friendly and helpful."Guest: Laurie C. Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: December 10, 2014View listing
