"Just as Goldilocks searched for what was "just right", we did the same choosing a place to stay on Ambergris Caye for our first trip to Belize. Carolina Blue at Sunset Beach Resort was "just right". We couldn't have asked for anything more. It lived up to the description on the website, and we were thrilled that we had the privacy and quiet we needed with the convenience of booking snorkeling and other adventures. The staff is so accommodating and the condo was more than enough room to ensure comfort for the 4 of us. We loved it!"Guest: Jean G. "We rented the house from 08/17-22 for a quick getaway. Just like previous reviewers, we really enjoyed it being our first time to Belize. We were a little worried about the weather but it turned out great. Here's the pros and cons about the house: Pros: roomy, good enough for 12 people. great ocean front view, private, reasonable price. You gotta go with the Suya tour. Carlos and his crew provides a very personal service and willing to work with you to make you happy. Victor, Ana's property assistant is very professional and courteous. George, the taxi driver is very helpful too. Cons: downstair cooktop and refrigerator is not working (Victor, Ana's assistant said he'll fix it the next day but never did) but not a big deal since we can use the upstairs one. The outdoor floodlight did not work but we manage to fix it ourselves. Pool light didn't work. We told the care taker the next day but he doesn't seem to speak english. The pool has several nice coconut trees to provide shade and add a nice touch to the pool. However, it also blocks the oceanfront view. Therefore you can't enjoy the sunrise or sunset from the second floor balcony. There are a lot of mosquitoes even though we brought repellent. It would be nice if caretaker can spray them (we saw the foggy smoke repellent tool in the utility room). It would be nice if we can use the two old bikes in the utility room. There's no hammocks as stated in the description. It would be wonderful if the local phone call is included. Here's what we would recommend for first time renters: - First day, get a golf cart to explore the town. - 2nd day: go on fishing/snorkeling with Suya tour (we caught quite a bit of fishes and lobsters for dinner) - The cave tubing/zip line is so so. The cave tubing is a little disappointed since we didn't get to do anything. The tour guy just pulled us through the whole time. The kids enjoy the zipline more. - Fishing trip if you love fishing. Carlos will take you to his secret fishing places :) Despite a few little things about the place, we did have a wonderful time. We definitely come back here again and recommend it to everyone."Guest: Tony Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 29, 2014View listing
"We LOVED our stay here at the Grand Caribe - but more importantly this unit in particular is one of the best. There are only 2 buildings that look out directly on the ocean; Building A looks out at the pier, whereas Building H (this one) has no blocked view and is more private. The icing on the cake is that the interior is beautifully decorated and since it is a ground floor unit the pool is only a step away! Honestly, the only other unit I would ever rent would be the penthouse in Building H if I had a larger group. This unit, with two bedrooms and two baths, was perfect for our family of 5. Regarding the Grand Caribe - it is beautiful and is known for its customer service. The front desk was always helpful and responsive. Though there are some other resorts up and down Ambergris Caye, we liked GC for two reasons. First, the ones closer to San Pedro are older and just not as nice (our swimming pooled ROCKED). Second, the ones that are further up make you compromise the distance into town with a golf cart. So GC was the perfect compromise. We went into town 3 times during our 7 day stay so proximity was important. Other times, we had water taxis/boats pick us up at the GC pier to take us to different outings."Guest: Team Karim Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 28, 2014View listing
"A lovely cabin just off the main south road, quiet but complete with everything you might want - main room living/kitchen, bedroom and bath. Lovely garden surrounding. Two minute walk to the beach where you can use Banana Beach pool and pristine sand beach area. Hostess Karen is a delight, knowledgeable and will help you arrange anything you might need. Nearby store, golf cart rental, tour booking, massages, beach bars, restaurants - everything. We had a wonderful relaxing time."Guest: Sue Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 13, 2014View listing
