"Family of 6 plus bro-in-law rented entire top floor for 14 days. The condo was GREAT! Excellent accommodations (inside and out) and right on a private beach w/ cabana. Sittee Point/Hopkins was perfect for us. We're more into an adventure vacation without the partying/crowds that you'll find in San Pedro and Ambergris Caye. So for a central point to hit the adventure activities, Hopkins is it. Placencia is a bit south and longer ride to the activities. Dangriga is rougher as far as atmosphere. If you're into the resort/all-inclusive atmosphere, the condo may not be for you and you might want to look at the resorts in Hopkins Village. This condo/location is great for folks who like their privacy/independence. Janette and Missy can setup/book all the activities for you or you can do it on your own. Two points I need to make about the condo location: 1]. you should really have either a rental car or a golf cart. The restaurants, etc. in Hopkins Village are in reality several miles away over dirt roads with lots of pot holes/bumps. If you're an avid biker you could do it, but I think it would get old real fast especially with a large family/group. Also, if you want to travel to activities outside of Hopkins you'll need a car (preferably with decent ground clearance). You can do it via tours, but we found that we were able to coordinate all of our activities and drive ourselves at a significant cost savings to having someone book tours for us. Examples of our activities: SCUBA, spear fishing, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, zip lining, Mayan ruins, cave tubing, zoo, etc. 2]. The sand fleas (no sees) and mosquitos in Hopkins & at the condo are BAD! Insect repellent an absolute must. Locals use a combination of baby/coconut oil & skin so soft. Have to find what works for you. We were there in June, but the locals told me the bugs are BAD year round. However, if there's a decent breeze, no real fly problem. Back to the condo... Marto and his wife Nikki were absolutely great. Introduced us to the local foods and either prepared them or helped us prepare them. Marto loaned us a crab net for crabbing, his machete for slicing coconuts, took us line fishing, told us where to gather mangos, connected us with his friend for boat fishing, etc. etc. We caught some barracuda and Nikki cooked them for us. A really nice dinner. If we make it back to Belize, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend. Thanks to Janette, Missy, Marto, Nikki!"
