  • Go Slow So That You Have Time To Enjoy Amanda's Place

"There were 8 people that stayed for 2 weeks at Amanda's Place and everyone had a good time and enjoyed the hospitality of the island. Actually one couple ended up adopting a little dog from the shelter who had a tough journey in his life. Amanda was real helpful in expediting his trip back to the states. Amanda was real helpful with any other questions or needs that we had. The two weeks went fast but was pleasant for the most part. The pool was a plus too. We all spent a lot of time around there. The only negative things that we noticed was the noise late at night since her place was right on the street. The blinds in the bedrooms really didn't block out the light from the streets. Could use a little updating of kitchen pots and pans. Overall, the place was enjoyable and we would stay there again."

  • Awesome!!!!

"My husband and I stayed at the Purple House in November for our 20th anniversary. The house was exactly as pictured. Michael and Eddie were a pleasure to work with and our stay was very relaxing and SLOW! I would highly recommend this property to those who want relax and take in the natural beauty of Caye Caulker. It matched every description. We enjoyed making fresh rum drinks with the hand crank blender (more than once). If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle then this place is for you. The sunsets from the crows nest will take your breath away. We can't wait to visit again"

  • Perfect location for a family vacation

"Our family of four was fortunate enough to arrange a week long stay at Sapphire House during the Christmas vacation. From the very first, we were impressed with the communication we received from Geoff and Jane and then from Amie at Caye Caulker rentals. Each email was answered promptly and every attempt was made to answer our questions. Upon our arrival, Amie met us with the keys and arranged a taxi to take us and our luggage to the house. Amie was kind enough to give us an orientation to the property and to explain island customs. She provided a map and gave us many helpful suggestion in regards to good restaurants and places to shop for groceries. We found the house to be clean and comfortable with room enough to satisfy even our teenager! The kitchen was surprisingly well appointed and we were very pleased to be able to prepare many of our meals at the house. The air conditioning worked very well in the house although I must admit that we had to Google the make and model before we could get it set properly. Once we got it sorted out, we were very comfortable. There are lots of screened windows that can also be opened to let in the fresh air if that is how your prefer to stay cool. To the delight of our teenager and my husband the WiFi was quite reliable and the TV had more than enough channel options to keep them happy (ahem!). I found my happy place in the hammock with a book, of which there are many to peruse in the house. There were so many thoughtful touches to make guests comfortable and we couldn't have been happier. We found the neighborhood to be peaceful and the walk to the village was very reasonable. We decided to rent bicycles for the week and we enjoyed many trips into the village for shaved ice and then on to the Split for swimming. The white sand roads were easy to navigate (watch for the occasional pothole) and were very safe to travel with only the occasional golf cart to pass by. We had lots of friendly greetings from the locals and the tourists and were met with many smiles. We would highly recommend Sapphire House especially for families as there is plenty of room and full kitchen amenities. Towels were included too, so no need to pack any! Just bring sunscreen and relax!"
