This House has it all - Your best bet in Placencia
"This house lives up to the pictures! The place is incredible with views of the ocean from every room. The kitchen has everything you need including an ice machine. The front patio which is shaded is perfect for hanging out with your friends and family while gazing at the sea. The pool is big enough to stay cool and if you need a bigger pool, privelages at the Placencia Hotel down the road are included and that pool is amazing and huge with a swim up bar to boot! The bedrooms all have their own bathroom and the beds are very comfortable. Mirabel keeps the house clean and does your laundry every day which cuts down on what you have to bring with you. She is so sweet and will help with anything you need. Domingo the chef is amazing - he has a great disposition and he is an excellent chef. The experience of having breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked for you is luxurious.
I have rented many vacation houses around the world and this is one of the best because so much is included. You get daily maid and laundry service, a personal chef every 3 days, a 6 passenger golf cart, kayaks, bicycles, ice machine, swimming pool, priveleges at the Placencia Hotel Pool and the beach at your back door. It was Amazing.
For Restaurants I would recommend Singing Sands and the Maya Beach Hotel bistro - their food is at such a high level - I was pleasantly surprised. the snorkeling is amazing - we saw an eagle ray, nurse shark, sea turtle, carribean ray, squid and hundreds of fish!"

"The house is beautiful. The balcony is amazing, the pool is great, rooms are fantastic size, you get two kitchens...there is a lot to like. Abner is helpful and very friendly (as was everyone we met). Brittany was responsive throughout in planning the trip. Chris was really helpful in getting us to and from San Pedro. The resort (Porto Fino) is a nice resource for activities (diving, snorkeling...if you are a diver, make sure to insist on a Wall Dive-- Mexico Rocks Canyon is really great).
There are some quirks to staying here. Be aware the getting here takes some doing-- you have to take either a plan or a boat from Belize City to San Pedro, and then another boat that takes you right to your own dock. Not a problem; just know that's coming. There was a problem with the pipes while we were there. The team did a great job of fixing the problem quickly. The water got all over the floor and we had to use a bunch of towels to clean it up. We were told that we were going to get a complimentary cleaning because of this inconvenience, but nobody ever came.
The carts were great to have, but came with some quirks as well. They have a hard time when it is muddy and wet on the dirt road that is used for travel. They stall out, and you have to dry the spark plugs to get them restarted. Riding the roads was fun for our group, but it is muddy and stinky, with potential to stall out or get stuck. It would be nice if the cart company would provide more instruction on how to use the carts. When we got there, there were two carts waiting, as promised. However, neither would start and we had to get somebody to come out. They had to replace one of the carts (they had to replace one again later in the trip) and finally got the other going. They then tied to collect more than 125% of the price that I was quoted by Brittany for the carts. I was able to do some negotiation, but be ready for some haggling.
Overall, the trip was beautiful and full of adventure. I would certainly recommend staying here if you don't mind being off the beaten path a little bit."

"I'm glad I found and booked this loge after looking at numerous other resorts and lodges across Belize. I wanted to experience a holiday that I have never experienced before and I had it. The location is awesome, nestled in between the mountains and along side the river. During the mornings the breeze helped keep me cool, I went from -6 Celsius where I live to plus 30 in the jungle. At night the temperature was warm and very comforting along with the sounds of nature. During the mornings and late afternoon all sorts of birds were easily observed. The property had well marked trails which looped back to the main trail, allowing maximized habitat for animals and provided good shade. Ron and Al were very knowledgeable and informative about tours and surrounding activities, they helped me book a few tours. If it wasn't for them I would have missed out on a few of my most memorable highlights during my entire stay in Belize. After a tour I looked forward to returning to the lodge and tell them about my adventure. Most of my meals were breakfast and dinner at the lodge, the food was very authentic and well presented. Every day I had something different due to a good selection of dishes. I would put Macaw on anyone's list who is going to belize, it truly is a hidden gem. Thank-you Ron and Al for making my stay a rewarding and memorable one. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys in the near future."

"The Villa: A great house with a great layout. It was clean and comfortable and easy to enjoy. The pool was fabulous with plenty of shade, sun and chairs. The Jacuzzi on the roof deck was our favorite for relaxing and ending the day. The amazing star show up there is indescribable…we’ve never seen so MANY shooting stars. The beds were comfy and roomy.
The Staff: Victor and Noemi live to serve their guests! They are amazing people, very helpful, incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about anything on the island. They keep the entire house and grounds very clean, they care for the beautiful gardens, and prepare a wonderful meal. This is a must! You can catch your main course fishing or ask Noemi to buy it in town, but she set a lovely table, prepared a delicious meal to our tastes (spicy here means nuclear so be sure to ask for mild), and then cleans everything! It was like dining out at home so we could enjoy the pool and beach before an after dinner.
Food: We loved dinner at Capricorn, Mamba, and Elvi’s (in town). We had good breakfasts and lunches at the back of Belizean Shores (just south) and Las Terrazzas restaurant (just North). We also bought groceries so the kids could munch. The choices at the grocery stores in town were much like home. The prices were a bit higher than at home, but not outrageous so don’t lug anything but your must-have-favorites.
Other: We rented golf carts and used them a lot. Victor can arrange to have them delivered to the house so you can skip the hassle of dealing with everything and waiting in town. We loved the kayaks and took them to the reef and onto the ocean a lot!
Overall it was one of the best, if not the best, vacations we’ve had as a family! Thank you!"
