"Could not have been better. Karen and staff helpful and friendly. Swam each day off pier. Kayaks were fun and when we when we traveled way to far (all the way into town!) Karen sent the truck to pick us up. Safe. Secure.
Tons of fun. 5 adults and we had tons of space and lots to do and see. Local food good and safe to eat. Women selling fresh bread in the evening in town--sweet bread the best. Fruit and veggie truck comes outside gate each Thurs afternoon with bargain prices. Watch the sunrise each am and wondered across the street to watch sunset in the evening. Belize Zoo very fun stop. Fish market in town is hidden so ask locals.
"John the Bakerman" is a must for local tarts and yummy banana bread. Donna at the pier in Placencia (I think it is Night Winds Tours) has good prices. Enjoy!"

"We recently stayed at Dolce Cabana for a week. Nicole is a warm and wonderful person who makes you feel just at home. We had a banking problem while we there and she went above and beyond helping us out and we would not have been able to solve it without her. The rental suites are on the ground floor of her house right on the lagoon. The location is perfect with a short walk to many restaurants and bars. The suite itself is a great size with a nice bathroom & shower and a great kitchen with a grocery store only 5 minutes away. Nicole and Don are both available to answer any questions you might have. Would definitely recommend."

"We had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable week at Barnacle Bills. We spent most of our time eating, drinking and hanging out under our very own beach huts. Some great restaurants, bars and a bowling alley within walking distance. The way the bungalos are built make for a perfect breeze flowing through the house. Not to mention waking up to the gorgeous sunrise. We enjoyed our daily morning coffees chatting with Bill. Bill and Adriane were very helpful hosts and we hope to go back!"

"I had the chance to spend some time at the Maine Stay recently and had a very difficult time leaving. The property has three units; the unit we stayed in is two beautiful Mennonite houses with a complete kitchen attached by a deck to one another. Each unit has its own bathroom and the bedroom unit also had a laundry room. The level of detail and care apparent in these places is remarkable as is the attention paid by Karen and her staff - predominantly Hector and Joyce. The bedroom unit has its own coffee maker and fridge so I could enjoy sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee without waking up my family in the kitchen/bedroom unit. I have stayed in self-catering units before but I have never encountered such a well-appointed kitchen. I love to cook and everything we needed to make a fabulous meal of fresh lobster was there. Oh and fabulous wifi!
The grounds themselves are beautiful and the units are positioned so that each unit has more than sufficient privacy
I was lazy and read on the beach - beautiful white sand - but if you want more activity there are kayaks, canoes, bikes, board games, books, and more. I'm sure I've missed something. The property is a short drive to Placencia village for those wanting to shop or dine but far enough for to ensure a quiet, peaceful beach.
There was always someone around during the day if we needed them and in the evening there is security at the gates - although I never felt like we needed it.
Bottom line - I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is the perfect amalgamation of luxury and privacy while allowing you whatever level of self-sufficiency you might want. My husband wasn't able to join us but you can bet I will be bringing him back as soon as I can manage."
