"Stayed here 3 yrs ago with family.
Was nervous that return visit would not be as nice. No worries ... This trip was good as the first. Jen (cleaning) and Ignacio (onsite maintenance) were great. This time 5 "adults" (3 adult children, Mom /Dad). Lots of room, can't beat 200 feet or so of ocean front. Would recommend renting a golf cart to get you around. Nothing is too far away. Will be back ....

"I had the chance to spend some time at the Maine Stay recently and had a very difficult time leaving. The property has three units; the unit we stayed in is two beautiful Mennonite houses with a complete kitchen attached by a deck to one another. Each unit has its own bathroom and the bedroom unit also had a laundry room. The level of detail and care apparent in these places is remarkable as is the attention paid by Karen and her staff - predominantly Hector and Joyce. The bedroom unit has its own coffee maker and fridge so I could enjoy sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee without waking up my family in the kitchen/bedroom unit. I have stayed in self-catering units before but I have never encountered such a well-appointed kitchen. I love to cook and everything we needed to make a fabulous meal of fresh lobster was there. Oh and fabulous wifi!
The grounds themselves are beautiful and the units are positioned so that each unit has more than sufficient privacy
I was lazy and read on the beach - beautiful white sand - but if you want more activity there are kayaks, canoes, bikes, board games, books, and more. I'm sure I've missed something. The property is a short drive to Placencia village for those wanting to shop or dine but far enough for to ensure a quiet, peaceful beach.
There was always someone around during the day if we needed them and in the evening there is security at the gates - although I never felt like we needed it.
Bottom line - I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is the perfect amalgamation of luxury and privacy while allowing you whatever level of self-sufficiency you might want. My husband wasn't able to join us but you can bet I will be bringing him back as soon as I can manage."

"what a beautiful place to spend our 20th anniversary...accommodations were clean and the property manager Stefano was there to answer any of our questions upon request...we will definitely be returning in the future to the beautiful village of Placencia and the amazing property of the Three Iguanas!"

"Not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the hospitality and generosity of the los porticos staff. Beautifully constructed and spacious condo's provided ample space for our party of 9. Close to the airport, and only a short taxi ride from the sidewalk and restaurants of Placencia village, the possibilities are endless. I would recommend the los porticos villas to anyone looking for either a nights stay while awaiting embarkation or a romantic week under the Belizean sun; or why not both ;)"
