"Our stay the Villa Tipsy Gecko was fantastic. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. It was like staying at our own personal resort. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms like spas. The ability to walk out the back door and have access to a private pool and beach was wonderful. We took full advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards. The support staff were outstanding. They were efficient and unobtrusive. They were both very friendly and always helpful. They really are a treasure and the property management should be grateful for such conscientious employees. Chef Domingo was also wonderful and if we could take him home with us we would. It was such a treat to have someone cook meals for us. Access to the golf cart allowed us to get groceries and to go bowling and have meals at Mango's and Mayan beach resort. Both wonderful. We did not miss having a car at all because we booked our excursions thru a company in Placenia - I think the name was Pirates cove - run by Shane and Rosario. They picked us up at the house for the Mayan ruin tours and by boat on the lagoon side for the snorkeling and Monkey River excursions. All in all our stay at the Tipsy Gecko was everything we hoped for and more. A vacation we will never forget. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to vacation in Belize. You won't be disappointed."Guest: Winelover Date of Stay: January 2015 Review Submitted: January 22, 2015View listing
"Our stay at Harbour Hideaway was the best. Jim and Cindy made us feel like family. Their studio was perfect for what we needed. They had everything: beach towels, kayaks and they even borrowed an extra bike from a friend so our whole family could have one. They were very thoughtful. It is in a great location and it is very clean. Our vacation will be remember for always."Guest: sheri Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 18, 2014View listing
"This is lovely main floor condo unit located in the centre of the complex. The pool was 30 steps away and the ocean was about 60 steps. The unit is very spacious and very nicely decorated. We were with another couple and found the unit plenty big for all of us. Lots of room in the dining area and in the living room. Very nice covered veranda had a table with six chairs along with two lounge chairs. Nice pool with a little in water sit up bar area. You can walk out on to the beach and walk all the way to downtown Placencia, which is shorter than using the road and whole lot cooler. You need some form of transportation to get into Placencia as it is at least a mile away. Golf cart rentals are available. We had a car rental as we drove in from Belize city, which by the way was a scenic drive and well worth it (3 1/2 hours and you want do it in daylight). It was nice to have a vehicle to visit sites that were further away like the coskscomb reserve and mayan ruins. Overall loved the place and was one of the nicest places in Placencia. We highly recommend it."Guest: Guy C. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: May 13, 2014View listing
