  • Sooooo quiet!

"We arrived short notice during low season and Janis was super accommodating. Francisco, the caretaker, was pleasant and very helpful, and Alfred was really a gem! First time to Belize, 2nd accommodation and we couldn't have planned it any better. The coconuts falling from the trees startled us at first but once Alfred showed us how to open them they became a treat. I hope we get back to this place and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • Loved this place!

"My husband & I and another couple rented this two bedroom condo for five days. I loved the condo and the huge balcony. Although it only has a bath and a half, it was never a problem getting a shower and it always had hot water. Alvin met us at the ferry dock in town. He stored our luggage for us and walked us into town to get a few groceries and a carry out meal for dinner. When we got to the condo, his wife Rosa met us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The pool was nice and big and sparkling clean. The lower unit was not rented during our stay so we had a lot of privacy. A short walk down the beach was X Tan Ha resort which had a bar and restaurant. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, we did go to happy hour a couple times at the bar. Alvin was always friendly and hospitable when he drove us to town each day. We ended up having him take us into town twice and to a restaurant over the water near town once. Rick, the owner was always fast to email me back each time I contacted him. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Magical Vacation Rental

"We stayed at the Main Stay for a week, during the holidays. My boyfriend and I really found it romantic, magical and so accommodating. The staff is remarkable; everyone really makes you feel safe and really allows you to have a very relaxing stay. We had the beach all to ourselves and when shared with the other visitors, everyone was so welcoming & amazing. It still felt exclusive & private. We felt like we were with family on a grandeurs vacation. We cooked every morning on the outdoor grill found on the wrap around porch while listening to the sounds of the birds & drinking fresh coconuts, right of the tree. This place truly is very magical. For the price, it’s incredible how special, private, peaceful, and grand it is. There is a very expensive spa up the road that charges a ridiculous amount of money, but they do not have a private magical beach as we did, with inclusive use of canoes, kayaks & bikes. The Main Stay is “the” place to stay when heading for Belize. It is simple, and absolutely perfect, just as any vacation should be. We cannot wait to plan our next trip!"

  • Perfect location for a family vacation

"Our family of four was fortunate enough to arrange a week long stay at Sapphire House during the Christmas vacation. From the very first, we were impressed with the communication we received from Geoff and Jane and then from Amie at Caye Caulker rentals. Each email was answered promptly and every attempt was made to answer our questions. Upon our arrival, Amie met us with the keys and arranged a taxi to take us and our luggage to the house. Amie was kind enough to give us an orientation to the property and to explain island customs. She provided a map and gave us many helpful suggestion in regards to good restaurants and places to shop for groceries. We found the house to be clean and comfortable with room enough to satisfy even our teenager! The kitchen was surprisingly well appointed and we were very pleased to be able to prepare many of our meals at the house. The air conditioning worked very well in the house although I must admit that we had to Google the make and model before we could get it set properly. Once we got it sorted out, we were very comfortable. There are lots of screened windows that can also be opened to let in the fresh air if that is how your prefer to stay cool. To the delight of our teenager and my husband the WiFi was quite reliable and the TV had more than enough channel options to keep them happy (ahem!). I found my happy place in the hammock with a book, of which there are many to peruse in the house. There were so many thoughtful touches to make guests comfortable and we couldn't have been happier. We found the neighborhood to be peaceful and the walk to the village was very reasonable. We decided to rent bicycles for the week and we enjoyed many trips into the village for shaved ice and then on to the Split for swimming. The white sand roads were easy to navigate (watch for the occasional pothole) and were very safe to travel with only the occasional golf cart to pass by. We had lots of friendly greetings from the locals and the tourists and were met with many smiles. We would highly recommend Sapphire House especially for families as there is plenty of room and full kitchen amenities. Towels were included too, so no need to pack any! Just bring sunscreen and relax!"
