"We came here with our 3 year old daughter, 17 year old son and his friend. The home was a perfect size for the five of us. The home is spectacular... It has everything you need - beach chairs, snorkel gear, kayaks, equipped kitchen, bicycles. If you wanted to just stay in town you can get around by bike or rent a golf cart. If you want to go hiking and see ruins, you'll need a car. We flew into belize city, rented a car, and drove the 2-ish hours through the spectacular jungle. A worthy site. The water was absolutely stunning... Very shallow and calm which was great with a 3 year old. Within a close distance there is hiking and Mayan ruins. There are also plenty of companies that you can charter out to the barrier reef.
The people in Hopkins were so laid back and fun. The town is small with a dirt road but there are plenty of good restaurants and bars. Make sure to bring enough cash with you! There is not an ATM that will take foreign debit cards in town. We had to drive to Placencia. Most places do not take credit cards and if they do you must contend with them being down. The supermarket is simp,e without a huge variety but plenty to cook with.
For us it was an amazing vacation that we plan on repeating. I have never returned so relaxed from a vacaction before. It was fun for all ages... Highly recommend it!"

"Overall our family (boys ages 5,4 and 2) had an absolutely wonderful time and Casablanca is a lovely house.
The boat: having unlimited access to a boat in an area with a coral reef, other islands and resorts to visit, and great fishing was beyond an added amenity. It made our trip.
Brian and Alec: All of the service staff were excellent. They were attentive without being invasive and always tended to any issues without hesitation. Spearfishing at the reef with Brian was one of my personal favorite memories
The location: I felt the location was perfect, but perhaps not for everybody. The house is about a 30 minute golf cart ride (5-10 minutes boat) down a bumpy trail to town. We all loved the little adventure. There were other resorts with walking distance as well. We highly endorse Rojo Lounge for eating or drinking.
The kitchen and Great Room: The kitchen in the house is huge and the layout of open kitchen, dining room, living room, patio was great and very family friendly.
The cleanliness: The staff did a great job of cleaning the house and doing our laundry. The lady who cooked for us the odd time also did a nice job with the meals and cooking the fish we caught!
The dock: It was a great place for my boys to fish from. Plenty of time was spent out there!
Small things weren't maintained the best. Ceiling fans didn't work, light bulbs were out, the toilet seat was only fastened on one side. The DVD player never worked. Flatware and glassware were both well understocked. Old mattress -there are indents on both sides where people sleep. Should be replaced.Shower Heads -with no bathtub, Casablanca should offer shower heads that get you wet. No hammock: So many palm trees and no hammock? Really?
The patio furniture: For such a nice property the patio furniture is not even close to adequate. Old, uncomfortable, plastic strap loungers from a discount warehouse. These need to be updated without question.
Rooftop patio: Beautiful place to watch the sunset with not one piece of furniture.
Dock palapa:Apparently the roof blew off during a hurricane years ago and they never replaced it. Looks terrible and would be nice to have more shade at the end of the dock.
The Beach: Need to keep the beach free from the sea grass. Hadn't been touched in weeks on our arrival and it smelt awful
I think a minimal capital investment by the ownership could bring the house in line with what they claim it to be and gain 5 stars from me."

"My husband and I stayed here for one week. When we arrived it was raining and you could still see the beauty radiating! The water is so clean its like a sheet of glass. The house is well cared for and highly recommended. Waking up with the sun was amazing. We took the kayak out and enjoyed some relaxing! It was the perfect place to spend our last week in Belize. All the restaurants may be a bit more expensive on the north side but the service is wonderful. Everyone is so nice!! Honestly the nicest people I've met. Our favorite restaurant was Jamal Jerk!!
If you plan on going back and forth to San Pedro via water taxi we recommend paying for a week."

"We spent a week a Villa Verona and I didn't want to ever leave. The house itself is beautiful and well cared for. There are many excursions to see and do and a beautiful big pool steps from the ocean. The village of Hopkins was small and the locals are all so very friendly. The staff at the villa are exceptional and always there to help with anything, whether you are booking an excursion or even need something from the store. Liz and Louis were very attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again."
