  • Great Stay!

"Best laid out and nicest beach house we have stayed including those in the US. It is well thought out and very private. We totaled 6 people, my wife and I, 3 kids ages 13-17, and my 81 year old father. The kids had one room, my father the other, and we had the upstairs room. Nice that everyone had their own space. We spent 10 days here and have a great time. I think we saw a total of about 5 different people on the beach in our entire time. Its a great walking beach and the sea kayaks were fun, but its not the best for swimming. The wooden chairs out by the water were a morning ritual to watch the sun rise. Beds are comfortable (the fold out twin not so much), towels are plentiful, everything seems well maintained. Having the local phone with Aaron's and Stewart's numbers pre-programmed was reassuring, though we never really needed it. If we spent much time in the house we always would see one or the other walking down the street out front. Groceries are easy to get around the area (VISA accepted at all the stores), we generally ate breakfast and a snack at the house and went out for dinner or lunch. Plenty of great restaurants around the area (you will need a car). I recommend Bonefish Grill and Mangos in Maya Beach (about 3-4 minutes away) and Wendys, Omar's, and De Tatch down in Placencia (about 15-20 minutes). Never had a bad meal, ate lots of fish, rice, and beans. For those with picky American kids, everywhere has a pretty Americanized menu available (Burgers, pasta, pizza, chicken). As far as activities, we did SCUBA though Splash Center for 2 days. Great diving! We had 2 more days scheduled but weather got in the way. Off shore seas were too rough, though the weather on land was great. Splash has great equipment (ScubaPro) and a first rate staff. We did a half day of Deep Sea fishing which was a blast (Captain Dave out of Roberts Grove marina) and that gave us some great fish for dinner. We did the chocolate and Nim Li Punit ruins tour through CayeQuest tours and the Monkey river tour with them as well. Mark and Lyra of CayeQuest are great. Lyra, who just completed her PhD at Indiana U. in Anthropology is a treasure trove of facts. Mark is a local who is passionate about the surrounding environment. I HIGHLY recommend this 2 person company and these tours. We drove ourselves up to Maya Center and grabbed a guide when we arrived and spent a very hot half day hiking the trails there. Recommend the Zoo if driving from Int airport."

  • Fabulous condo in Placencia

"My family stayed in this beautiful condo for a week. It was perfect. When we were not diving, snorkeling, hiking to waterfalls in Jaguar country, we would lounge by the pool, jumping in every 10 minutes to cool off or to just play around with the kids. We had been traveling for a week and a half prior and were pleased to find a beautiful kitchen, plenty of stores, fish market and produce stands in town a quick cab ride away. We rode the bikes or walked into town easily. The property was dreamy. I felt like we walked into paradise with fresh flowers everywhere. The other residents/guests were so friendly and helpful."

  • Simply Wonderful!

"Where should I start? Everything about Angel's Landing is exactly as depicted. The house is clean and airy with great views. We were here for 12 days and made use of the pool everyday and rarely ventured off site except to replenish some supplies,as we had everything we needed (pool and the beautiful Caribbean)!.We had friends stay with us for a few days and they loved it as well. We enjoyed everything about our stay and highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from it all and just relax. On one of our foray's off the property we went to Habenero's Restaurant at Robert's Grove and enjoyed a great meal and views of the marina and lagoon. Lus (caretaker) is a jewel and was so friendly and helpful. We arrived later than expected due to flight delays and she was such a welcoming presence when we finally arrived. Lus made our last night at Angel's Landing so special by bringing us a home cooked fish dinner(freshly caught). All this because my husband had inquired as to where we could purchase some fresh fish. Truly the perfect end to a perfect vacation!. Thank You so much."

  • Will be back!

"Just got back from our stay at the Grand Caribe and am missing Ambergris Caye already! We stayed 12 days in this beautiful condo and had the option of renting it as a 2 bedroom. The resort is first class, staff are more than willing to help you with all your needs. The maids cleaned the condo daily including doing the dishes, laundry and mopping the floors. Everything at the resort is clean and well maintained, we even saw the staff rake and clean the beach area twice daily. The resort is one of the few on the island where you can walk in and swim right from the beach. We also enjoyed snorkeling right off the dock. Love the location of this resort and in our opinion, one of the nicest north of the bridge. You are far away enough from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro yet close enough to bike or hike into town. The resort is also close to a lot of good restaurants. We highly recommend Ak-bol yoga retreat resort, a two minute walk south for their restaurant and if you enjoy yoga, they have classes at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day. The prices were great as well, $4 U.S. for 3 chicken salbutes! Try the pizza too, it is amazing ? Also, close by is the Lazy Croc, Aji’s and Capricorn. All have great atmospheres right on the beach. We did visit the Palapa Bar about 5 min. south down the beach, a lot of fun, and if you are hungry try the slow cooked pulled pork. We rented bikes for our entire stay at Maya House bike rentals just a short walk south from the resort. We found this to be our mode of transportation as we enjoyed the exercise and exploring riding up and down the beach path. One day we rode 45 minutes north of the resort and to our surprise found Xtan Ha beach. Most beautiful beach, no seaweed, beautiful blue Caribbean and white sand. They have tables in the water where you can eat or enjoy a cool topical drink. Snorkeling at Hol Chan Marine reserve and Shark Ray alley is a must. If you are not to keen on snorkeling, you can take the glass bottom boat. One day we took the water taxi into Belize city and hired a taxi to take us to the Zoo. Great to see the Jaguars and other native animals in their natural environment. Tips: In San Pedro, Belize Chocolate factory, chocolate chip cookies and brownies, mmm! Eat at Mesa Café #1 restaurant on Tripadvisor but only open 9-5. LOTS to see and do on this island and close by, even golf on a nearby island, ask locals, front desk or get a travel book. offers discounts for Tropic Air."
