  • Beautiful condo!! Would go back in a heartbeat!

"We were at the condo for a week in February. Responses from the owner and his assistant were prompt and the entire process was easy and smooth. No extra/hidden fees, taxes, etc. The place is nicely decorated and well furnished. The kitchen is great - we cooked a lot of meals here and we were not lacking anything. (There is even a slowcooker! seriously, this kitchen had everything) There is a supermarket a few minutes away by car. You cannot beat the location: right by the ocean and right in the middle of Kralendijk, near many of the restaurants. Be aware that the cruise ships dock at the pier right in front of the condo - so the street out front was busy with tourists, which made for some good people watching from the patio. Speaking of which, the patio was great. Comfortable chairs to sit in and relax and take a nap. Just need to mind the bugs - but we bought bug spray - I think we left a couple cans in the condo when we left. The two bedrooms were comfortable and each of them has A/C, which was a bonus since my husband cannot sleep without it. We stayed in the master bedroom - it was nice and the ensuite bathroom is great. (loved the shower!!) The second bedroom has two twins, which can be pushed together. It also have an ensuite bathroom but the toilet is separate - it's across the hall. The couple staying in that room did not seem to mind though. They have wifi! A must for us. And the tv has netflix :) The condo complex also has a small pool and has a secure storage space where you can hang your dive gear. I cannot say enough good things about this place!!! We all loved it there and felt so at home. A great find, and I would recommend this to everyone."

  • We LOVED the house!

"We stayed in this house in October 2014 and loved everything about it. It has everything you need. From nice large bedrooms all feature very large wardrobes and airco, to solid furniture till cutlery and tableware... This is a well equipped and clean house. And then there is the view from the porch... amazing! You can go straight into the sea from the terrace, hold your head under water and you're in an aquarium. We made a trip to Sorobonne beach, Lacbaai to see the flamingo's, took the watertaxi to Klein Bonaire and went kitesurfing all just a few minutes away from the house. The owner is very helpful and even gives you a local phone you can use to call restaurants or other services on the island. We had a great time and will most certainly return!"

  • Great Apartment, Great Stay!

"Our stay: Nov 4-9, 2014. Booking Process: very easy, no hassle. The owners were very responsive. The apartment: just as you see in the pictures: homey, very clean, great location, great sunset! The apartment is within walk distance from downtown. It was also really nice to be able to go for a swim or snorkel just across the street. The kitchen has all that you will need. We took advantage of the grocery delivery service. We arrived on a late flight, and having something to eat was really great! Safety: This apartment has a gated parking lot, and a gate to the apartments, so it feels really safe. When walking/driving around Bonaire, be as careful as you would be in any other city, and you should be fine. Food: We are vegetarians, and we quickly learned that we were better served cooking our own meals. But we did go out a few time: At Sea( impressive selection of vegetables), Go Green (reasonable price, great meal, great conversation with locals), Between 2Buns (great sandwich). We used Friends of Bonaire diving shop. We found them very helpful and friendly."

  • Divers' Dream: The Best!!!

"Second stay at the fabulous Beachcomber Villas. We stayed a month and spent 2 weeks in each apartment, so see notes below. The hosts at this property are just unbelievable and the property itself, right on the ocean in a quiet neighborhood with a dive shop a 3 minute walk away, is wonderful. Beachcomber Villas is primarily set up for quiet, friendly couples who dive and/or snorkel. If you want to throw loud parties or you prefer not to talk to your neighbors, this property may not be a good fit. Also they do not take kids under 12. All other visitors will love it. The owners bend over backward to keep these apartments immaculate, including rewashing every single dish and utensil in the well-equipped kitchen before a new guest arrives. There are so many thoughtful touches: a lightweight portable drying rack for wet suits and towels, beer bottle cozies for your evening beverage, a few days supply of coffee so you can be awake enough to make it to the grocery store, and some old towels (which look better than my new towels) "because you never know when you may need an old towel for something." And the nice Weber Q grill on the terrace. And the cute little battery powered lamps for the kitchen or terrace that they purchased because I mentioned that the overhead light was kind of harsh at night. How about that? Both apartments are very nice. We like the smaller one a little better because it has windows on both the east and west and gets a nice cross draft which keeps it cooler. We never used the air conditioner. Of course, when those happy little rain squalls blow through, you do have to leap up and close the eastern windows. Also we left them closed when we were out, just in case. And be sure to close the window in the bathroom when you shower so the shower curtain doesn't blow around too much. In the larger apartment, the kitchen makes an "L" with the bedroom and you don't get as nice a cross breeze, so it gets pretty warm despite the fan. The owners do a good job of mosquito control; there are not many; but it seemed to me I was using the handy portable mosquito zapper more in the large apartment than the small one. We have had four sets of neighbors in the six weeks we've spent at Beachcomber, and they were all delightful friendly divers with whom we shared many a "sundowner" while sitting on our upper terrace or at the beachfront with the owners. Yarn-spinning is a Beachcomber tradition, so be prepared to share yours and listen to others'."

Bonaire Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Bonaire Vacation Rentals

Bonaire is a lesser-known destination located in the Dutch Antilles in the Caribbean. It is a delightful tropical haven that offers sunshine and relaxation to visitors. Various North American airlines have direct flights from New York City, Miami and Atlanta that operate several times a week. In peak season, a second weekly flight departs from Newark. As an alternate route, you can fly into Curacao and from there, connect on to Bonaire, using the frequent daily regional flight service. If traveling from Europe, your best flight connection will be from Amsterdam. There are direct flights that operate several times a week on the Dutch national carrier. For those traveling from South America, there are regularly scheduled direct flights from Curacao, Venezuela that operate several times daily. Alternate routing options are via Aruba or Bogota in Columbia.

Bonaire Travel Attractions

Because of its pristine reefs and warm water temperatures, some of Bonaire’s primary attractions are its colorful tropical reefs. Scuba diving operators offer daily diving charters for all levels of certified divers. If you do not have a dive qualification, the calm conditions provide the ideal opportunity to learn and get your certification. You can enjoy clear visibility and warm water temperatures while you marvel at the underwater treasures.

For visitors who prefer to stick to land-based activities, there are many options available. Bonaire is noted as an excellent birdwatching destination. For the more energetic, there is the option of exploring the island on horseback or bicycle. There are several local operators that offer guided tours of the island.

A visit to the Washington Slagbaai National Park is a wonderful experience. Here, you can see a wide variety of cacti, divi-divi trees, beautiful landscapes and incredible views. You may also have the opportunity to interact with the semi-tame resident iguanas in the park. Make sure you have your camera with you when you visit the park as it is one part of Bonaire that you will want to photograph.

Ideal Time of Year to Visit Bonaire Resorts

Bonaire is fortunate to have a year-round warm tropical climate. There is very little seasonal variation in the temperatures, and visitors can enjoy sunshine and warm weather almost any time of year. For most of the year, visitors can enjoy the tropical sunshine interspersed only with the occasional summer rain shower. Bonaire’s climate is largely defined by the consistent trade winds which bring a cooling breeze to the island. Water sport enthusiasts can benefit from warm water temperatures all year long.

Visitors to Belnem Vacation Rentals

Bonaire is tranquil tropical paradise. It is one of the lesser-known Caribbean vacation destinations and that is indeed part of its charm. All the marine waters surrounding the island have been declared a marine national park since 1979 which has resulted in a pristine and natural marine environment. It is this environment that attracts scuba divers, snorkelers and water sports enthusiasts from around the world. Because of the consistent trade winds, Bonaire is a popular sailing destination. Windsurfing is also becoming an increasingly popular activity on the island. Kite boarders are also attracted by the good wind and surf conditions that Bonaire has to offer. It is a destination for those that enjoy nature, sun, sea and a relaxed island vibe. When walking along many of the beach fronts, you will be able to see the colorful sails and kites dancing in the wind.
