  • Perfection!

"We recently came home from our second 2-week stay at this apartment, and can't recommend it highly enough. The apartment was perfectly sized for our group of 4 people, though to be honest we barely used the huge living room or dining room (except for arranging dive equipment). Why would you, with that INCREDIBLE balcony? Best view in the world. With windows and doors open to the trade winds the home stays nice and cool, carrying the breeze all the way to the back deck. The ceiling fans on the balcony are also a really nice touch. The AC in the bedrooms works well, but we actually found that leaving the windows open to the night breeze was an even more pleasant way to sleep. Wake up to the parrots outside your window! Diving from the back deck is easy, and the apartment is just a few minutes drive away from all our favorite southern dive sites. Kitchen is well stocked and allowed us to do most of our own cooking. The washing machine is a very convenient addition that you won't find in many rentals. Out of 8 visits to Bonaire my family has tried out three different rental properties (in Kralendijk, Hato, and this apartment in Belnem). This is our hands-down favorite. Comfortable, private, and beautiful. Sitting on that balcony with my feet up watching the ocean is my definition of heaven."

  • Great Condo!

"This is our 9th visit to Bonaire, and the first time we've stayed at Brian and Judi's condo. We've stayed in other units in BelAir, and this one is exceptional! We never needed to use the air conditioning in the main part of the condo, as the breezes were delightful. I agree with the other reviewer's comments; you will not be disappointed!"

  • Still as lovely @ The Spot

"We have just returned from our 4th (or is it 5th?!) stay at The Spot and loved every minute of it. This fab villa is still as lovely as it was last time we visited (We had a 2 year break renting the owners 2nd villa further north). It's in a wonderful friendly peaceful neighborhood with a lovely private garden. The noise from the airport isn't an issue even with the windows open, the big planes land during the day now and the little ones go by un-noticed. The newly refurbished kitchen in well stocked and there are plenty of towels provided. Beds are comfy and the whole place was very clean and tidy (before we descended lol). It's a real help being collected from and delivered back to the airport by the caretaker, who although only a temp replacement to the normal guys, was absolutely brilliant with the little help we needed. Its a joy to stay here & Anouk is great to deal with, very helpful & efficient. I wouldn't hesitate recommending The Spot to anyone. Thank you again for allowing us to use your lovely villa."

Bonaire Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Bonaire Vacation Rentals

Bonaire is a lesser-known destination located in the Dutch Antilles in the Caribbean. It is a delightful tropical haven that offers sunshine and relaxation to visitors. Various North American airlines have direct flights from New York City, Miami and Atlanta that operate several times a week. In peak season, a second weekly flight departs from Newark. As an alternate route, you can fly into Curacao and from there, connect on to Bonaire, using the frequent daily regional flight service. If traveling from Europe, your best flight connection will be from Amsterdam. There are direct flights that operate several times a week on the Dutch national carrier. For those traveling from South America, there are regularly scheduled direct flights from Curacao, Venezuela that operate several times daily. Alternate routing options are via Aruba or Bogota in Columbia.

Bonaire Travel Attractions

Because of its pristine reefs and warm water temperatures, some of Bonaire’s primary attractions are its colorful tropical reefs. Scuba diving operators offer daily diving charters for all levels of certified divers. If you do not have a dive qualification, the calm conditions provide the ideal opportunity to learn and get your certification. You can enjoy clear visibility and warm water temperatures while you marvel at the underwater treasures.

For visitors who prefer to stick to land-based activities, there are many options available. Bonaire is noted as an excellent birdwatching destination. For the more energetic, there is the option of exploring the island on horseback or bicycle. There are several local operators that offer guided tours of the island.

A visit to the Washington Slagbaai National Park is a wonderful experience. Here, you can see a wide variety of cacti, divi-divi trees, beautiful landscapes and incredible views. You may also have the opportunity to interact with the semi-tame resident iguanas in the park. Make sure you have your camera with you when you visit the park as it is one part of Bonaire that you will want to photograph.

Ideal Time of Year to Visit Bonaire Resorts

Bonaire is fortunate to have a year-round warm tropical climate. There is very little seasonal variation in the temperatures, and visitors can enjoy sunshine and warm weather almost any time of year. For most of the year, visitors can enjoy the tropical sunshine interspersed only with the occasional summer rain shower. Bonaire’s climate is largely defined by the consistent trade winds which bring a cooling breeze to the island. Water sport enthusiasts can benefit from warm water temperatures all year long.

Visitors to Belnem Vacation Rentals

Bonaire is tranquil tropical paradise. It is one of the lesser-known Caribbean vacation destinations and that is indeed part of its charm. All the marine waters surrounding the island have been declared a marine national park since 1979 which has resulted in a pristine and natural marine environment. It is this environment that attracts scuba divers, snorkelers and water sports enthusiasts from around the world. Because of the consistent trade winds, Bonaire is a popular sailing destination. Windsurfing is also becoming an increasingly popular activity on the island. Kite boarders are also attracted by the good wind and surf conditions that Bonaire has to offer. It is a destination for those that enjoy nature, sun, sea and a relaxed island vibe. When walking along many of the beach fronts, you will be able to see the colorful sails and kites dancing in the wind.
