  • Best out of 6

"This was our sixth trip to Bonaire. We have always rented a house or condo on the beach. This was by far the nicest and best appointed place we've stayed. It had everything we needed, plus! Meeting Martin at Hotel Rummer was very convenient, just past the condo. He was very nice and helpful. He gave us his number if there was anything we needed, which we didn't. We will definitely be booking here again next trip. Thank you Carla for sharing your beautiful home with us. Rich and Lisa Lewis Oklahoma, US"

  • Two weeks in diver paradise

"The villa is as shown in the amazing photos. Leeward (calm) ocean is in the backyard! Great views upon entering front door from living room, from one bedroom, and of course from big back porch, deck and dock. Easy to step in and go diving. Reef is just short swim out. Great visibility. Big tarpon will fishfrom your dive lights at night. Beautiful backyard sunsets. This villa and one next door are walled/gated together so you can park your vehicle inside. There is a good visual barrier between the two villas. We used the laundry - small Euro washing machine (read directions) and clothes line. The Rinse tub at end of driveway near house was very convenient after our many great shore dives around the island with our rental pickup truck. There are plenty of places to let equipment dry. Outdoor shower was wonderful. AC in each bedroom appreciated but fortunately the breeze was steady this time of year. Several fans - one bedroom fan needs to be adjusted - too noisy/wobbly to use - used AC instead. A few mosquitos to swat in the house each day...screens on windows and porch doors...electric tennis racket bug swatters...we keep the nets on the beds to be safe. Watch hummingbirds and bufferflys through front windows. Nice kitchen - gas stove, full size refrigerator, toaster oven, micro and dishwasher. Plenty of pots and pans and utensils. We walked to town for dinner one night - not far and plenty of options are available there. Plan to wind down to island time, adjust to less AC, more dust and a few bugs and you will be ready to appreciate a great adventure."

  • Wonderful house, wonderful locatioon, can't wait to go back

"We just stayed at Casa Presioso for 3 wonderful weeks. The house is very private, the yard and pool completely enclosed in a garden full of palm trees and flowering trees and bushes. The bedrooms are on the ground floor, with a laundry room and second refrigerator for keeping your poolside drinks cold. The pool deck is spacious, with sunshades over one side and a comfortable seating area under the 2nd floor overhang. Upstairs is the living/kitchen area, where you have beautiful crossbreezes and a large protected outdoor dining area. We had our breakfast there every morning, enjoying watching the gorgeous green parrots that visited the yard every day, along with hummingbirds, troupials, and the bright yellow chibi-chibis. The views are fantastic: to the north, you can see Mt. Brandaris in Washington-Slaagbai Park; to the south, you can see the lights of downtown Kralendijk and the airport. Straight ahead you have Klein Bonaire and the wonderful sunsets. At night, the lights on the surrounding hillsides are magical; we even saw fireworks on more than one occasion. You are only a 10-15 minute drive to nearby restaurants, depending on whether you want to eat downtown or at one of the dive resorts. Our favorite restaurant was Ingridients, located at Buddy Dive. Don't miss the lionfish pizza at Pasa Bon Pizza. We snorkeled nearly every day, which you can do from shore, and saw lots of fish, eels, octopi, spotted eagle rays, and beautiful soft corals. There are rinse tanks in the back yard for cleaning up your gear and a locked storage closet for hanging it up. The caretaker lives in the neighborhood and was always available to take care of any issues (we didn't have any). The owners are wonderful to deal with and answer e:mails promptly. They were also able to give us information on how to locate our misdirected luggage, which was sent to Amsterdam instead of to Bonaire. Two friends stayed with us for one of the weeks, and there was plenty of room for everybody; their room had its own bathroom. We had a terrific time and have already reserved our weeks for next year."

Bonaire Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to Bonaire Vacation Rentals

Bonaire is a lesser-known destination located in the Dutch Antilles in the Caribbean. It is a delightful tropical haven that offers sunshine and relaxation to visitors. Various North American airlines have direct flights from New York City, Miami and Atlanta that operate several times a week. In peak season, a second weekly flight departs from Newark. As an alternate route, you can fly into Curacao and from there, connect on to Bonaire, using the frequent daily regional flight service. If traveling from Europe, your best flight connection will be from Amsterdam. There are direct flights that operate several times a week on the Dutch national carrier. For those traveling from South America, there are regularly scheduled direct flights from Curacao, Venezuela that operate several times daily. Alternate routing options are via Aruba or Bogota in Columbia.

Bonaire Travel Attractions

Because of its pristine reefs and warm water temperatures, some of Bonaire’s primary attractions are its colorful tropical reefs. Scuba diving operators offer daily diving charters for all levels of certified divers. If you do not have a dive qualification, the calm conditions provide the ideal opportunity to learn and get your certification. You can enjoy clear visibility and warm water temperatures while you marvel at the underwater treasures.

For visitors who prefer to stick to land-based activities, there are many options available. Bonaire is noted as an excellent birdwatching destination. For the more energetic, there is the option of exploring the island on horseback or bicycle. There are several local operators that offer guided tours of the island.

A visit to the Washington Slagbaai National Park is a wonderful experience. Here, you can see a wide variety of cacti, divi-divi trees, beautiful landscapes and incredible views. You may also have the opportunity to interact with the semi-tame resident iguanas in the park. Make sure you have your camera with you when you visit the park as it is one part of Bonaire that you will want to photograph.

Ideal Time of Year to Visit Bonaire Resorts

Bonaire is fortunate to have a year-round warm tropical climate. There is very little seasonal variation in the temperatures, and visitors can enjoy sunshine and warm weather almost any time of year. For most of the year, visitors can enjoy the tropical sunshine interspersed only with the occasional summer rain shower. Bonaire’s climate is largely defined by the consistent trade winds which bring a cooling breeze to the island. Water sport enthusiasts can benefit from warm water temperatures all year long.

Visitors to Belnem Vacation Rentals

Bonaire is tranquil tropical paradise. It is one of the lesser-known Caribbean vacation destinations and that is indeed part of its charm. All the marine waters surrounding the island have been declared a marine national park since 1979 which has resulted in a pristine and natural marine environment. It is this environment that attracts scuba divers, snorkelers and water sports enthusiasts from around the world. Because of the consistent trade winds, Bonaire is a popular sailing destination. Windsurfing is also becoming an increasingly popular activity on the island. Kite boarders are also attracted by the good wind and surf conditions that Bonaire has to offer. It is a destination for those that enjoy nature, sun, sea and a relaxed island vibe. When walking along many of the beach fronts, you will be able to see the colorful sails and kites dancing in the wind.
