"Note that Sand Dollar is a collection of owned apartments, every one is different. I staid in A4, which is on the second floor and thus has a balcony, overviewing the ocean. Parrots visit the tree just outside to eat fruits. The balcony is screened, thus you can sit there in the evening without worrying about insects. Some others are not screened. The ones on the ground floor have easier access but less view. The A building is right next to the dive shops. They only run the compressors during the day and it didn't bother me. A4 is in the first building, close to reception, almost nobody walks by there. Thus I let the door open (it has a screen door) and enjoyed the breeze (it's always windy in Bonaire). I like that better than using the aircon (which worked very well anyway). I actually was interested in A2, which has a separate bedroom, but the owner was not very responsive. A4 is a studio with lots of space, including full size kitchen and large bathroom. Although the building looks like it's from the seventies, it has been well maintained. A few tiny things could be improved though. You have between 2 buns very close buy, great place for breakfast (and any other cake or sandwich). The peruvian restaurant is also next door, on the sea side, and was good. Didn't try Eddy's, another restaurant on site. Sonia's is a modern Italian restaurant across the street. There is a well stocked supermarket 10 min. walking north. Thus you can do without a vehicle (although you need one to dive/snorkel at other places and to drive through slagbaai park). Note that the website that seems to be the official website doesn't offer all apartments, even though they will gladly suggest it's "not available for the specified date". Check the vrbo site for alternatives, contact the owner directly for best information. The owners of A4 were very informative and took lots of time to answer any question I had."Guest: trip4trip Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: October 14, 2014View listing
"From the moment we walked into LBR 13, we felt as though we were "home". It is a clean, cmfortable unit. I've never rented a unit with such a well equipped kitchen--everything needed for meal preparation. The outside gas grill is a major plus. The house is definitely set up for diving with a fresh water rinse tank for easy cleanup. There is no place else I would rather stay and will return on our next visit to Bonaire."Guest: A Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 10, 2014View listing
"Over the top villa!!” 5 of 5 stars This is the BEST vacation we have had on the island so far. We celebrated our 25th wedding Anniversary as well as both our Birthdays the week we stayed at this Villa. As you might expect there was a lot of planning involved, having two villas filled with family & friends (22 people in all). I worked closely with Scott for well over a year planning this occasion. He helped with everything I was in question about regarding the Villa as well as the island itself. I couldn't have done it with out his help for sure. I cant say enough about Scott and his lovely wife who were able to meet the week before we moved into their home. What a lovely couple and it shows totally in their home and the love they have put into it!! The pictures don't do it the justice it deserves. Its BEAUTIFUL! Their care taker Marie and the manager Bas were there anytime we needed them. Marie worked our event with such elegance. Some of the little things that arose took just one call to Bas and he was there in five minutes, service beyond anything we expected. The owners came in the week before to make sure everything was perfect. That alone was far beyond anything a we expected. THANK YOU ALL!!! The view from the pool .. just amazing. They have a outdoor kitchen by the pool that includes refrigerator, gas grill, bathroom and sink. We had our vow renewal in the gazebo on top and reception below with music and dancing, all at sunset.. It was the perfect place ! Just a short walk out the back gate to the sea where we did some day and night diving, also snorkeled from our villa down ten villas to villa Salentine #36 where we had other friends staying. It was a slow drift for about an hour, Just on the snorkeling we saw everything you would hope to see in the ocean. There was a Octopus baby under a dock and a HUGE one out in the open, many peacock flounders and even baby ones, four puffers, one all white and a scorpion fish . I could go on and on.. it was AMAZING to see so much.. Our dives were just as exciting. The lobsters & Octopus at night!!! totally amazing. If I could buy this place we would be there right now.. We love it.. Best place on the island for sure. The only thing I would have done differently is If I had known Villa Lamans was next door,I would have had the other group of 11 rent that one. Our friends were close but they wanted to be closer. :)) we had 2 young grand kids with us.. they loved it too!!! PERFECT PLACE."Guest: cheryl c. "Our stay: Nov 4-9, 2014. Booking Process: very easy, no hassle. The owners were very responsive. The apartment: just as you see in the pictures: homey, very clean, great location, great sunset! The apartment is within walk distance from downtown. It was also really nice to be able to go for a swim or snorkel just across the street. The kitchen has all that you will need. We took advantage of the grocery delivery service. We arrived on a late flight, and having something to eat was really great! Safety: This apartment has a gated parking lot, and a gate to the apartments, so it feels really safe. When walking/driving around Bonaire, be as careful as you would be in any other city, and you should be fine. Food: We are vegetarians, and we quickly learned that we were better served cooking our own meals. But we did go out a few time: At Sea( impressive selection of vegetables), Go Green (reasonable price, great meal, great conversation with locals), Between 2Buns (great sandwich). We used Friends of Bonaire diving shop. We found them very helpful and friendly."Guest: From California Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: November 16, 2014View listing

Various North American airlines have direct flights from New York City, Miami and Atlanta that operate several times a week. In peak season, a second weekly flight departs from Newark. Bonaire Travel Attractions
Because of its pristine reefs and warm water temperatures, some of Bonaire’s primary attractions are its colorful tropical reefs. Scuba diving operators offer daily diving charters for all levels of certified divers. If you do not have a dive qualification, the calm conditions provide the ideal opportunity to learn and get your certification. You can enjoy clear visibility and warm water temperatures while you marvel at the underwater treasures.
For visitors who prefer to stick to land-based activities, there are many options available. Bonaire is noted as an excellent birdwatching destination. For the more energetic, there is the option of exploring the island on horseback or bicycle. There are several local operators that offer guided tours of the island.
A visit to the Washington Slagbaai National Park is a wonderful experience. Here, you can see a wide variety of cacti, divi-divi trees, beautiful landscapes and incredible views. You may also have the opportunity to interact with the semi-tame resident iguanas in the park. Make sure you have your camera with you when you visit the park as it is one part of Bonaire that you will want to photograph.
Ideal Time of Year to Visit Bonaire Resorts
Bonaire is fortunate to have a year-round warm tropical climate. There is very little seasonal variation in the temperatures, and visitors can enjoy sunshine and warm weather almost any time of year. For most of the year, visitors can enjoy the tropical sunshine interspersed only with the occasional summer rain shower. Bonaire’s climate is largely defined by the consistent trade winds which bring a cooling breeze to the island. Water sport enthusiasts can benefit from warm water temperatures all year long.
Visitors to Belnem Vacation Rentals
Bonaire is tranquil tropical paradise. It is one of the lesser-known Caribbean vacation destinations and that is indeed part of its charm. All the marine waters surrounding the island have been declared a marine national park since 1979 which has resulted in a pristine and natural marine environment. It is this environment that attracts scuba divers, snorkelers and water sports enthusiasts from around the world. Because of the consistent trade winds, Bonaire is a popular sailing destination. Windsurfing is also becoming an increasingly popular activity on the island. Kite boarders are also attracted by the good wind and surf conditions that Bonaire has to offer. It is a destination for those that enjoy nature, sun, sea and a relaxed island vibe. When walking along many of the beach fronts, you will be able to see the colorful sails and kites dancing in the wind.
