  • Outstanding private villa

"We stayed here for a week and it was absolutely perfect. Everything was fully functional and clean. Believe it or not, the pictures are accurate. It really is that beautiful, both inside and out. I think that deck has the best sunset on the entire island; just to the right of Jost. The ceiling fan in both outside living areas made bug spray unecessary."

  • Highly recommend Moonstone Villa and the services of Villas of Tortola!

"Sam (property manager/Villas of Tortola) was extremely helpful. She responded quickly to my availability request and questions. She gave us useful suggestions and contact info for various vendors. It was a last minute trip and we were undecided on a property; Sam enticed us with a discount on the weekly rate. We gladly accepted. Unfortunately, they can’t accept credit cards but Sam reserved the villa without usual upfront payment (there was no time to mail it). We gave a check for the rent /security immediately upon arrival. All arrangements were done via email so no international calls needed. It was hassle free! We rented a SUV from Jerry’s. Jerry was waiting when we got off the ferry and took us to our rental. BTW... Tortola roads are insane. The SUV was a necessity. Sam’s assistant Kia was promptly waiting for us at Jerry’s (great personal service). We followed her to the property. She gave us a quick tour. The Penthouse is exactly as the photos/description depict. Clean, well maintained and has what you need for a comfortable stay. The vaulted ceiling is great. It really makes it feel bright, open and airy. The bed is comfortable. The view is incredible. We loved the two comfy chairs looking out to the ocean, the patio and the fact that the sliding door opens all the way up. They even have a full screen – which you don’t always find in the Caribbean. The kitchenette has all the basics and was stocked with a big jug of drinking water. We never used the TV. There is no WiFi. They did not advertise it, I wrongly assumed they would have it. Sam later explained it’s hopefully being installed in the villa soon. It was actually nice to “disconnect”. Long Bay beach is great, especially if you like to walk the beach. Forewarning, it’s a hike up the hill and then stairs to get to the unit. This may not be suitable for all. The drive up hill to the condo can be scary – but common for Tortola! We had one slight snafu. Our last night we returned late to find out the renters downstairs locked us out. (When we first arrived Kia suggested we leave the key for the shared door in a designated hiding spot. It worked all week with the other renters. When the new renters came in they must not have known it was ours and took it). Anyway, a few expensive calls later, Sam’s husband quickly responded and had someone from the Long Bay Resort let us in. Not ideal but things happen. Sam’s team responded well and she very apologetic for the mishap! Great overall experience!"

  • Lovely Villa in Paradise

"Firstly, Nancy was so easy to deal with throughout the entire booking process, and provide us with ALL the information that we could have possibly needed to enjoy our stay in the BVI. The villa looked just as it does in the pictures, and I agree with other reviewers the view is absolutely amazing! It was the perfect location, although to get almost anywhere takes only 1/2 an hour, and we enjoyed having Cane Garden Bay so close. I have to say that Janet, the manager, is an absolute JEM! From the time we arrived, she recognized us at the airport, drove us to Cielo Villa, confirmed the rental car, and gave us some amazing suggestions for food and activities. She made sure our groceries had been delivered, introduced us to the other guest, and gave us a tour and rundown of the way the villa was setup! Since it was low season Janet was not available for our whole stay (which was totally understandable), and without a person in her stead we had few unforeseen tasks during our stay. They were small things, but not what we had wanted to do on our holiday. Also, since she was not at the villa the breakfast food that was to be provided was slightly lacking. I will say that any problems we did encounter, Nancy provided a solution or tried to fix them as soon as possible. Secondly, Nancy did recommend the most amazing boat captain Mitch, from Ocean Dreams, to charter us to Jost Van Dyke, Little Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island (Willy T), Sandy Spit, Peter Island (caves for snokling), and the Indians. He was amazing, friendly, and very accommodating! Lastly, if you are diving I would HIGHLY recommend We Be Divers. The dive master is incredible! So knowledgeable about the area, and an excellent guide. Overall we were very happy with our stay, but I would recommend checking if the manager will be there if you are looking for help with anything or property maintenance."

  • Romantic Pink House

"After you have snorkeled your way down to the point and seen sea turtles, rays, and fish galore it is nice to step onto the beach, fall into a lounge chair and sip your favorite beverage while in the shade of palm trees. The Pink House sits 5 steps above the beach with a wrap around porch that overlooks Sir Francis Drake Passage and many sailboats anchored at Cooper Island. You are practically part of the beach with double doors that let you see the ocean from your bed and windows throughout that let the trade winds cool the room. The covered porch is a delight to sit on and watch the boats and water traffic. An outdoor shower helps complete the beach living experience. (There is an indoor shower also.) The interior of the cottage is an "L" shaped room with a queen bed straight in the doors and a kitchen to the left. The kitchen is well equipped to make meals with a propane stove and refrigerator. A small table to eat at is present, but we ate on the porch consistently. We had the house provisioned by an outfitter for the durable goods and shopped for fresh items in Road Town before taking the boat over. We survived in the evening with candle light, although the 12V electrical system powered the fan and LED lights without a problem. We charged phones, computers, portable speakers, etc. during the day and it worked fine. The owners were very responsive and helpful in the setup for the trip. On island they have a caretaker that will help with moving in and picking up extra supplies if you need them."
