  • Two thumbs up!

"Da Blue House is a charming, impeccably clean, and well-equipped cottage in a friendly neighborhood where locals are quick to say hello and offer assistance. The location was a perfect spot for me and my college-aged daughters to explore the island. Sam and JC were easy to reach and made sure that we had everything we needed, then after our trip, returned our security deposit lighting fast. Two of the most beautiful beaches- Long Beach and Smugglers Cove- are just a few minutes' drive, and great restaurants like Cruzin, Palm's Delight, and Sugar Mill are within walking distance, with great views along the way. In fact, the sunset from Cruzin was a dream. Island driving is an adventure in itself. The crazy-steep hairpin curves on the way to Cane Garden Bay take some getting used to (beep your horn on the approach and take 'em wide). Loved the food and music at Quito's and killer BBQ at Elm's. Being the off-season, we frequently found ourselves alone or with few others on beaches and in restaurants, except at the Baths, which despite the relative crowds, is still a must-see. Also recommend sailing and snorkeling with Gary on Karalu- excellent service and lunch on board. The highlight of our trip was breakfast with Mr. Egbert Donovan, just up the street at the North Shore Shell Museum. Be sure to call or visit him first to make a reservation. Mr. Egbert served up fabulous mango, banana, and coconut pancakes, mango smoothies, and charming tales of island life, as well as a tour of the "museum". Best of all, he strummed his guitar, sang original songs, and gave us instruments to play along. Priceless. One thing to note if you're a light sleeper- roosters and light traffic may keep you awake at Da Blue House, but once you relax and get in your island groove, it's all good. Truly fantastic …we’ll be back. Thanks Sam and JC!"

  • Love Love Love

"So nice when real life superseded expectation ! I'm lucky enough to say I have travelled a lot in 46 years ! All over the world, staying in everything from youth hostels to private Castles. I have to be honest and say that Tortolla & Casa Caribe rank right up there. Rare to find a combination of ideal weather, stunning white sand beaches, clean clear warm ocean water, uncrowded by tourists, delicious roadside food, safe & friendly locals, adventure & raw natural beauty. It was the perfect vacation spot for us. We rented a scooter & explored Tortolla, hit Jost for a day of drinking & swimming with the yachters, crawled through the massive boulders on Virgin Gorda, Island hopped - but I have to say the best part was Casa Caribe itself. A perfect little villa with doors flung wide open day & night, waves constantly crashing below the balcony, waking to the sunshine, walking to brekky, swimming at Apple Bay, watching the surfers from the swing & having privacy enough to skinny dip just steps from home. It was so much better than what I thought a week in Paradise was like !"

  • Best view on the island!

"My wife and I rented this beautiful home for our 25th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the home. We did explore the island and do some excursions, but our favorite place was the home. Several nights we did not go out to eat, because we wanted to eat out on the deck and enjoy the breeze and the sunset. The are several sitting areas around the deck, including a pub tab and an outdoor bar. The outdoor living spaces and pool area are totally private. We spent a lot of time out on the deck sunning, reading, or swimming. The gazebo at the top of the property with the hammock was another highlight of this house - a great place to take a siesta! The owners, Doug and Linda, were really are responsive. We peppered them with questions prior to our arrival and they gave us a lot of information about the island, rental cars, weather, etc. It really helped us prepare for the trip. Doug also touched base with us during our stay to make sure everything was OK also and to see if we needed anything. We rented a car from a West End rental car place, Jerry's, who knows the owners and was gracious enough to have us follow him to the house for the first time, which was helpful since we did not know the island at all. When we arrived at the home we were met by a House Greeter (another Doug) who walked us through the house and showed us everything we needed to know during our stay. All I can say is if you look at the pictures on the website they are tremendous, and still don't do the home or the view justice! We would go back to High Point Villa in a heartbeat!"

  • Nit-picker

"We had a fabulous time! There are a couple of very minor flaws which I may be the only one to notice, like an inoperative bathroom window and a few fogged thermo-panes, only one of which was annoying. It is listed as limited accessibility, but I am handicapped and found NO inconvenience. Our healthy offspring thrived on the available walks and walking access to the village and other destinations. Ten mile excursions for them were a daily occurrence and thoroughly enjoyable. We never used the air-conditioning because the ventilation is remarkable. Our children, however, found the upper floors more comfortable for sleeping with it on; they are late sleepers and the island's plethora of feral chickens woke them a bit early. We ARE returning!"
