  • Dream Vacation!

"My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Sundowner Villa, and could not have imagined a better place for our honeymoon. It was very private and secluded with amazing views. The amenities were a great surprise- iPad, wireless sound system, kayaks, and snorkel gear. Sonny took great care of us and helped direct us around the island. Ray was very helpful as we had many questions prior to our trip. Food around the island was great, and we even spent several nights just hanging out at the villa cooking on the grill. HIGHLY recommend this place, and we are already trying to decide when we can come back!"

  • Simply amazing

"Everything about this place is beyond wonderful. We were attracted by the wonderful modern architecture and completely private location, including a beautiful private beach... and ridiculously gorgeous views of the turquoise ocean from every vantage point. We shopped at the nearby grocery store and cooked wonderful meals all week long, and explored the nearby Mount Gorda as well as The Baths and the Coppermine ruins. All lovely short drives and a couple hour diversion. Would definitely recommend for other couples looking for a little quality relaxation, or families who want to spend some time together as the 3 bedrooms and living/dining room areas are very spacious and accommodating. The property manager was also super helpful and responsive, guiding us on everything from car rentals to ferry schedules and things to do and see on the island."

  • Tamarind Villa review

"This villa was the nicest place that we ever stayed! The view was spectacular from almost any room in the house. The wrap around patio was awesome. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice. It was well stocked and everything was in great working order. It was very nicely decorated. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries. Tiina, the property manager, was extremely helpful to us upon arrival. I would recommend this villa to everyone."

  • An escape from the snow to Paradise!

"We stayed at Coconut Grove with four other couples. It was great to have a king size bed, private bath and deck with every room. There is a place for whatever one desires, sun, shade, pool, large living room, etc. We were in the BVI for a wedding and had an open house for 45 guests. There was plenty of room for a gathering of this many people. Even during the ten minute rain shower there was room in the kitchen and around the covered decks. The property was well maintained and included maid service on the week days. Many of our group really appreciated the laundry facilities on site so they were able to pack lighter and return home with clean clothes in the suitcase. It was really nice to have a grocery store and restaurant within a couple of blocks. We travelled around the island quite a bit and it was very easy to arrange a taxi. Tiina was very helpful. She met us at the dock to pick up our luggage and also delivered our luggage back to the dock at the end of the week. Tiina helped us get ahold of fresh Anegada lobster to broil on the grill one night. It was fantastic. There was no utensil, dish or pot that was missing from the kitchen. We have been to the BVI several times before on sail boats but all of the space and luxury of Coconut Grove might entice us to stay on land again next time!"

Virgin Gorda Travel Tips

A Taste of Paradise at Virgin Gorda Vacation Rentals

Virgin Gorda is located in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. The island has a year-round warm climate, although tropical storms can occur in the late summer months. It is well known as one the premiere sailing destinations in the Caribbean. Virgin Gorda’s beautiful beaches, calm tropical waters, and luxurious lifestyle are just a few things that attract many visitors to its shores each year.

Virgin Gorda Travel Tips

Getting to Virgin Gorda takes a bit of time but once you are there, you’ll certainly agree that it’s well worth the effort. The British Virgin Islands do not receive international flights directly from North America or Europe. To get there, you need to route via one of the neighboring islands such as Puerto Rico, Antigua or St. Thomas. The most regular schedules from the U.S. travel via San Juan in Puerto Rico. For travelers from Europe or Canada, you may find better connections via Antigua. Once there, you can get a connecting charter or scheduled flight to the British Virgin Islands. Although Virgin Gorda has an airport, it is not always operational. Your best option therefore is to get a connecting flight to Tortola. From Tortola, you can get a ferry across to Virgin Gorda.

You will need to plan your flight schedule carefully and ensure that you have enough time to get between airports and to the ferry terminals. The ferries only operate during daylight hours so if your flight arrives later than 4 p.m. you may need to stay overnight in Tortola. The easiest way to get from the airport to the ferry is by taxi. Let your taxi driver know which area of Virgin Gorda you will be traveling to so that he can take you to the correct ferry terminal. The taxi drivers generally know the ferry timetables and if there have been any changes in the schedule.

Enjoy Island Luxury on Virgin Gorda

There's a broad range of rental accommodations available on Virgin Gorda. Choose from bright tropical condos, stylish apartments or luxury villas. If you plan to enjoy a romantic vacation away for just the two of you, a cozy apartment will perfectly suit your needs. For those wanting a more spacious environment, the luxury homes and villas have multiple bedrooms, large swimming pools and lush landscaped gardens. Most rentals are equipped with a range of modern conveniences so that you can feel right at home while still enjoying an island vacation.

Things to do Near Virgin Gorda Resorts

The island has many natural and historical attractions. You can choose to spend your days out in the sun lazing on a sandy white beach or exploring some of the island sites. Possibly one of the most famous attractions of Virgin Gorda is The Baths. The Baths are located on the southern end of the island. Here, large granite boulders are piled up on the beach forming grottoes that open up to the sea. The pools are great for swimming and snorkeling. There are several trails that you can explore if you’re feeling energetic.

The quiet beach coves on Virgin Gorda offer seclusion and unrivalled natural beauty. The island’s fringing reefs ensure that the warm tropical waters are safe for swimming and snorkeling. Sailing and cruising are popular pastimes in the BVI. Charters can easily be arranged from the yacht club.

The snorkeling and diving in the British Virgin Islands are simply spectacular. There may not be dramatic walls and fast drift dives but the coral pinnacles more than make up for it. Hundreds of reef fish, colorful corals, turtles, rays and larger pelagic are regularly seen on dives.
