  • Top class

"My party of eight friends just spent a delightful week at Gun Point (Nov 10 to 18). Most of the compliments I would list have been made in other reviews, but a few points stand out: This villa really lends itself to just hanging out and doing nothing much, thanks to spectacular views, a deck with various areas for lounging and conversation, a nice sandy beach close by, the infinity pool and, importantly, the grassy areas that reinforce the feeling of being on a spacious private estate – which of course Gun Point actually is. I expected we would eat out a lot but we only dined out once (in Cane Garden Bay, with steel band duo; anyone new to the islands should hear a live steel band at least once, so that was a hit). Partly because the ladies were excellent cooks but also because Gun Point is so relaxing that one is in no hurry to leave it for somewhere else. Similarly, we did not do many excursions – just a day sail on a catamaran based at Sopers Hole. The West End is the only part of Tortola I know, but between the villa, the beach (Smugglers Cove), the bays along the north west shore (Apple Bay, Carrot Bay, Cane Garden Bay) and the marina at Sopers Hole with nice cafes and decent grocery shopping, it feels like a self-sufficient island of its own where one doesn’t feel like a tourist, even though one is. No need to venture into Road Town that I could see. The pharmacy perhaps. Management: great job by JC and Sam (Samantha) Pierce. JC is in perpetual motion, fixing stuff and generally helping out. Must be hard work but he never seems to lose his cool. Overall: top marks all round."

  • 2 week stay September 2014

"This place is fantastic. This is our 3rd trip to the BVI. 2 weeks on a 72 ft. sailboat, 2 weeks at Bitter End Yacht Club and 2 weeks at this villa. This was the best place we have stayed in the BVI. We would go on about one excursion a day ( snorkeling, the Baths kayaking, island hoping etc.) and go out to dinner at one of the great restaurants about every other night. We always made sure we were back at the villa in the pool having cocktails at sunset. What a way to spend my 70th. The place has wonderful views fantastic landscaping and is furnished beautifully. Germaine, the owner, was fantastic and made sure everything went smoothly. We will return to what truly is A Dream Come True."

  • Great way to visit Jost Van Dyke

"This was the BEST vacation ever. The house was awesome. Everyone is correct, the pictures do not do it justice. Saga is great if you need anything he will take care of you. The owner is great to work with also. We had 2 couples. We really enjoyed the dinghy. We used it everyday going to all the beaches. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever been on. We were originally going to charter a boat, but we decided to try this for our first time and it was a great choice. I really look forward to visiting again."

  • Perfect paradise!

"Our stay at On the Rocks exceeded expectations. The only difficulty was deciding whether to stay at this beautiful villa and lounge by the pool --- or venture out to the quiet, pristine beaches, which are a two minute walk away. The owners have paid attention to every detail in every room and area of this magical place. The property manager is wonderful. She is always available to answer any query about anything. A wonderful place to celebrate my birthday with friends and family. Our next decision: when are we going back?!"
