"We stayed at the Makere House and Cottage as 3 couples for 5 nights. Everything was perfect from the location, to the gorgeous view, to the super clean rooms. We couldn't have asked for more. Mobbsie, the property manager, was so gracious and helpful during our stay...he made us feel right at home and made sure we were well taken care of. Definitely rent a Jeep Wrangler from Jerry's to tour around the island...the roads are like nothing you've ever experienced for sure. We hope to return someday!"Guest: Clare K. "This house is a show home with a million dollar view. First off the location is perfect if you like to have some privacy with only a few houses around you for safety. Let's start off with the pool. The pool is much larger than the picture shows it to be. Most pools are dipping pools but this one you can actually use to do laps. The pictures do not do it justice as you can not see the length of this pool from the pictures. It is situated on the west side which means that when it comes to watching the sunset go down in the infinity pool it is warm since the sun has been able to warm it up for most of the day. Then you have the view. It looks out to the Dog Islands and Tortola and also to the clear Ocean. This allowed us to see the Green Flash of the sun on a clear sunny day sunset which was taught to us by some friends we met on the island. The bay in front of the house is Nail Bay and to the right is Long Bay and is great for snorkeling and is one of the best on the island. The waters are fairly calm and was able to take the Kayak out fairly far and also you can snorkel way out also. I had a car and basically went around the whole island at least twice and visited all the beaches and I have to say that the owner of this house knew what he was doing when he picked this location. This bay along with Mahoe bay is probably the two best beaches on the island in my opinion and and Mahoe bay is only a couple of minutes drive. The interior of this house is show home quality and is immaculate with all the amenities. The home owner has really gone all out to provide a top notch house."Guest: Dan Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 1, 2014View listing
"This was my 4th visit to Cane Garden Bay, and my first time staying at Cane Garden Bay Cottages. Each of my visits has been at the end of a 7-10 day sailboat charter, so I am looking to fully relax and be gentle to myself, before my return to reality. I spent 3 nights in Cottage 4. I had seen the cottages on a previous visit, and they looked inviting. The description on their website was apt, and my expectations were not disappointed. Reserving the place with Samantha was straight forward, and well managed, and the place was well ready upon my arrival. The cottage was welcoming, bright and airy. It had all the amenities I required, with a tidy kitchen for meal preparation, (though I ate out for most meals), a cold fridge for drinks, and a comfortable bed and bathroom. The overhead fans and large screened windows provided ample breezes for escaping the heat of the day - not that I really wanted to. Nestled in the edge of a jungle-like grove, surrounded by a large, well manicured yard, the cottage was a sweet retreat from the "hustle and bustle" of the main street and beach. The beach, restaurants and bars were easy steps away. I could watch the sunset from my front step, through the palm trees, enjoying a cocktail. Of course the ubiquitous roosters were my alarm clock, sounding off perhaps a bit earlier than I had wished for. I thoroughly enjoyed my short visit and would return for an extended stay. I have no problem being entertained while passing time in Cane Garden Bay, and could easily make Cottage 4 my home for a while."Guest: Tim Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 6, 2014View listing
"If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place to get away relax and rest easy this is a wonderful spot! Traveled by myself and felt safe and secure. Ha ha even in the side swipe of hurricane "Gonzo". Sun shines in every morning for a gently wake up - sit out on balcony with amazing views while having your morning coffee. House is clean and equipped to prepare meals with nice sized grocery about 10 minutes away in Road Town. There is a great beach just short walk down hill from house or you may drive there. I was off season so it felt like that was my private beach!! Photos are accurate although better in person. I did rent a car to venture around and buy provisions. Jan is a wonderful host and if interested she has lots of interesting tales to tell of island life but if you wish to be alone and not bothered she would be that person also. I will be planning another trip for next year! Thanks Jan !"Guest: Bonnie Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 29, 2014View listing
